It’s Around the Corner . . .

Hey there, everyone!

Hope you had a sparkling 4th of July weekend. 😀

Can you believe the stores are already stocking items for another holiday that’s on the horizon?

Uh-huh. Halloween!

Today’s edition of Show and Tell Tuesday will fit right in with that theme . . .

A few weeks ago, we were reminiscing with our oldest daughter about some Halloween costumes we helped her to make around the time she became a teenager.

Her school sponsored an annual Halloween Dance, which included a contest for best costume. She loved the event. Although we all contributed to the finished projects, her Dad (a.k.a. Sir Beads) did a lot of the work on these . . .

Here’s his “washing machine” – made with a sturdy carton and recycled styrofoam! There’s even a battery-operated light with an on/off switch!

Don’t you just love it? 😀

Next, we have a slice of pizza. Fabric-covered cardboard, designed to sit on the shoulders, “sandwich board”-style. 😀

This was during the late 1980’s. As I recall, neither costume won, but they were a hit nonetheless. The washer is long gone, but we think the slice of pizza may be packed away in the basement.

In any event, I’m so glad we still have the pictures.

They make our hearts smile!

Hugs,

Show and Tell Tuesday

Welcome to this week’s Show and Tell Tuesday!

Remember when Allison sent a picture of her new baby, Robert, last November? 🙂

Well, wait ’til you see him, now! The little guy has grown so much.

A couple of weeks ago, I received a note with more recent photos and I fell in love at first glance! Isn’t he absolutely darling?!?!

There was just no way I could choose which photos to post – each one is sweeter than the last – so I made collages!

Allison says: “The picture with the white hat and car seat straps is my husband’s favorite! He has it as the wallpaper on his phone. Robert hates the hat and used to hate the car seat, too. He used to cry when he got strapped in but now he finds that going places is fun and interesting! He is about to wail in that picture, I think it is really funny.”

“He DOES NOT like the flash!! He kind of looks like a deer caught in the headlights in some of them! The camera takes much better pictures than the cell phone, but I always have my phone with me and never the camera. These are all pretty new, within the past few weeks or so. The ones from the phone are older. He is such a good sweet baby!! We all adore him!!! His 6 month check up went great! He is 16 lbs 6 oz, and 26″ long. Still just 25th percentile but perfectly healthy! We think he is huge, though!”

Thank you so much, Allison.

Sending big hugs to your sweet little boy! 😀

Show and Tell Tuesday

Welcome!

For this week’s Show and Tell Tuesday, I’m delighted to announce that there are three new “What’s on your Refrigerator?” photos! 😀

So, in the order received . . .

We have Clenna’s!

Clenna says: “I am so embarrassed about my fridge but I have to own up to it. On top left in basket– bibs (for grand daughter), Wet ones in the middle to grab and take with me when running out the door. On right – epipen for bee sting, recipes and behind that mess – cook books. Top left – coupons in baggies, cartoon with dog magnet, a notepad- which says “Dog HAS eaten” written this AM as I was heading out the door to work. Right side top – obituary of a dear friend, Southwest schedule – I returned last Monday night, pictures of grand kids, political cartoon. Below – middle on right side – article on upcoming Woman’s Expo, pix of engaged couple, another Golden Retriever magnet, another cartoon – we love humor! And lots of magnets for the grand daughter to play with.” 😀

Next, here’s Yona’s!

Yona says: “I know I’m late, but I couldn’t resist – had to share my fridge too even though it pales in comparison to the others. Mine is so boring, but here it goes: I have a Georgetown Bulldog magnet (my sweetie’s favorite team) and a dog with bone of my own that I got at the Dollar Store. My stepson’s basketball team spirit magnet. 2 graduation pictures (blurred because some people are Internet-paranoid). 3 magnets from Hawaii, including a hand-painted surfboard with my name and my sweetie’s name. Also, 3 Fortune cookie wrappers.”

And, here’s Allison’s!

Allison says: On the front, one door is Annelise and the other door is Robert.
On the side, there are random other pictures: more of Annelise, one of me on Luca, two of my old dogs that have passed away, an old horse of mine named Sleeper that has also passed away (pictured with my sister and me), lots of fun magnets and a research paper assignment sheet for Annelise. There is usually some of Annelise’s artwork, although none at the moment!”

This is so much fun! Thank you, Kids. 😀

You know I’m always delighted to showcase your photos on Show and Tell Tuesday.

Remember that the subject can be almost anything – people, pets, something you’re making, home repairs (in progress or finished), your garden, bargains you’ve found, holiday decorations, a scene in your hometown, last night’s casserole (with the recipe, please!), or something you choose!

If you’re worried about cropping or sizing, I can do that for you.

Show and Tell Tuesday

Last week, when I posted about new magnets I received, Carol had a great idea!

She suggested it would be fun to see everyone’s refrigerator! 😀

Today, we have photos from Carol and Kelly and I’ll post mine again – but with a description this time.

curlyline

First, we have Carol’s!

Carol says: “The center pic of dogs are my most special friends ever that have been gone more than 10 years now..Dino and Fuzz. Then there are a couple of pics when Corey played football in 5th and 6th grade. You have your information center with the dates recycling will be picked up, the poison center number, vet’s number. The Grandmother Poem magnet the boys gave me along with the Queen of Hearts and some bee ones (cause I like bees) and pigs too. The big green picture is one my great neice made for Terry because ALL kids love him and think he is a Grandpa. I got some on the side, too!”

Next, here’s mine.

For the most part, I have family pictures – my daughters, especially. The group shots are from celebrations with both sides of our family. The photo in the center bottom is Sir Beads’ brother and his dear family. (I’d like to have a similar one from his other brother (hint, hint!) There’s a copy of the Serenity Prayer, which I think just about says it all on how to live your life. I like to collect magnets and the little “lucky stars” were made by a sweet friend. Finally, I have a couple of favorite recipes right there on the fridge for easy access.

curlyline

Last, but never least, we have Kelly, who puts Carol and I to shame with her nicely organized display! 😀 Isn’t it pretty?

Kelly says: “I’m attaching a photo of our frig decorated for Easter. I decorate the frig for all holidays including St. Pats Day.”

So, who will be next? C’mon, we want to see yours, too!

If you are worried about cropping or sizing, I can do that for you.
