Each year, there’s a short span of days when winter is over… but spring is still asleep.
The pristine snow slowly disappears and we’re left with a drab and dreary landscape. It’s bleak. We long for warm breezes and cheerful colors.
While we wait, we take comfort in the subtle signs that spring is emerging – early morning songs from returning birds… the appearance of tiny green shoots peeking through the soil…
More days pass and then – almost overnight – barren tree branches have exploded with leaves, the grass is remarkably greener, and the fragrance of lilacs drifts in through the open door.
Recently, while dreaming of spring flowers, I made some jewelry inspired by lilacs and violets and purple iris!
Here are a couple of examples.
Wishing you a Happy Spring!
( What have you been up to? π )

I’d love to hear your thoughts!

Oh gosh, you are so optimistic!! Northern Indiana had a lovely week of warm weather, then MARCH!! winds whipped in along with freezing night temps. Though we do see the signs..the Maple tree buds burst into leaves, at least the ones the wind left on the trees, lol.
Such a lovely little girl in the pic and the most beautiful earrings.
Have a wonderful day, Crissie.
xx, Carol
Thank you, Carol…
for your compliments and for making me smile. π
Hang on! Your summer weather is coming! xoxo
Hi Crystal! Your earrings are just beautiful! You always pick such perfect color/bead/crystal combinations when you’re creating your lovely pieces. π
That always amazed me too, how the trees seem to go from bare to full foliage overnight! It’s nice listening to the birds tweeting away each morning before I even get out of bed… Whenever I see irises I think of you. π xoxo
Paulette,
You are so sweet!

I love the round beads, they look iridescent. The colors remind me of the little purple wild flowers that come up each year. Our woods have been green for a few weeks now and I love it.
We just returned from Atlanta, Georgia. Hubs had a convention so I we took off and rode our Harley. Tennessee is a beautiful state. The Cumberland Gap and Smokey Mountains views are fantastic.
It is hard to believe that school will be finished at the end of May. I truly love my job and I’m so glad that I was hired by this small district.
Greetings Kelly π
Your trip sounds fabulous and how great that you could take the Harley!
We have family who have always loved the Smokey Mts. for their vacations.
School is out in May? That will give you a nice long summer!
Here, the kids will be going until July to make up all of the snow days we had this winter.
So glad to hear that you continue to love your job. π
xoxo
Happy Mother’s Day to you. The dogs got me a paw print necklace (with daddy’s help of course). I also got a new mystery book to read. The school year is rapidly coming to a close (12 days) and I’m going to miss the little ones and the staff. It has been a wonderful first year. I’m still working at the bookstore at the college because I enjoy it and I’m looking forward to taking more hours this summer. Hubs and I also have some Harley rides planned. I hope you are enjoying the spring weather. Let me know what plans you have for the summer. Kelly
What a fab Mother’s Day gift, Kelly!
Would love to know if you recommend your new book once you finish reading it.
Spring has been lovely, here – so nice to see all the flowers and so much green in the landscape.
I will try to get a blog post on, in the near future, to chat about summer plans. xoxo!
