Knitted Bunny Rabbit – Friday Favorites

Just in time for Friday Favorites, I’ve finished the “mystery” knitting that I hinted about earlier this week (see it here)

Please meet: Sir Hops Alot πŸ™‚

He’s a tiny little fella at less than 8″ tall – and that includes his ears! I enjoyed making him but I would describe this as “fussy knitting” because of all the small pieces. You’ll find the pattern here.

Wishing a very Happy Easter to those who celebrate it, and Happy Spring to everyone!

See you Monday with a new giveaway and new questions!

Too cute to toss away!

On my computer desk, I have this little calendar – and I mean little!

dscn3259

It measures only 2″ by 3″. I bought it because I was captivated by the artwork of Becky Kelly and her absolutely adorable themes of children, woodland fairies, and tiny forest animals.

But when the pages are this cute, how can they just be discarded at the end of the day? (Click on the picture to make it larger.)

I just didn’t have the heart to put them in the trash, so at first I used them for bookmarks, and next for writing little notes, and then it hit me – they’d make great gift tags!

So I gathered some supplies . . .

And I cut some tag shapes from colored cardstock and trimmed the calendar pages.

Then, I did some experimenting with shapes and sizes.

I discovered that if I added my info to the reverse side, I’d have a cute enclosure to include with my customers’ bead and jewelry orders!

The tags really are a win, win, win!

I’m recycling . . .

It’s fun to share these sweet pictures . . .

And I have another quick and easy project to work on during TV Time! πŸ™‚

Can ya guess?

I’ve been working on this project for a couple of weeks now. The finished item is fairly small – so I didn’t anticipate the number of hours it would take to complete!

Can you guess what it will be when I’m done? πŸ˜‰

Easter Eggs to Knit

When my kids were young, I used to decorate for every occasion.

Now that they’ve left the nest, I’m not doing as much of it, but I do still love to have a decoration or two – at least for some of the holidays!

Lately, I’ve been having fun getting ready for Easter with these knitted Easter Eggs. If you like, you can click on the photos to make them larger.

The pattern is from Julie of Little Cotton Rabbits.

She has very cleverly designed the knitting to fit over a little plastic egg – the ones you find around Easter for filling with candy or treats.

Of course, in this case, you use an empty egg! If you prefer, you can use soft stuffing, but I think the hard plastic egg gives a more realistic egg-shape.

It isn’t obvious in the photo, but if you look closely, you can see that the egg on the right has a zig zag design!

These are a great project for TV Time. I plan to knit a few more in coordinating colors. Arranged in a basket, they’d make a cute centerpiece; don’t you think?

Hugs,

I made a card this week . . .

There are so many talented people making beautiful cards these days! I’ve often thought I’d like to try it.

The process appeals to me because it’s a mini version of making a scrapbook. You use a lot of the same tools and supplies but you are finished much sooner. I know I wouldn’t have the stick-to-it-ive-ness to complete a large scrapbook.

As I’ve mentioned to Carol, I am not good at working on a weeks-long project. With most of the arts that I’ve learned, I try to do small projects otherwise they tend to languish in an unfinished state. Guess I like the old instant gratification! For example, if I were quilting – it would be placemats – not a queen-sized quilt! When making a card, I can play with all of the pretty papers, stickers, ribbons, and rubber stamps – and still have a finished project fairly quickly.

Last week, as Valentine’s Day was approaching, I planned to make a few Valentines – but time ran out.

Made only one . . . for my Valentine . . . of 37 years . . .

I was in kindergarten when I married don’t cha know. πŸ˜‰

It turned out OK, for a beginner. You can click on the photo to make it larger.

It was fun and actually reminded me of my earliest school years, when our class would spend an afternoon every week making little “art” projects with colorful construction paper, glue, and our blunt edged scissors.

Now if you were to ask me what I liked best about making this card, I’d have to say . . .

He liked it!” πŸ™‚
