“Snow” and Tell Easter

Greetings Kids!
I’m so glad you stopped by today. I have some great photos to show you!

Kelly sent pictures of what’s been happening in her neighborhood this past week! 🙂

It may be Spring, but Mother Nature still had a surprise up her sleeve. Kelly said they had one of those beautiful snowfalls that softly coats everything in white frosting!

Isn’t it gorgeous?

Kelly’s puppy, Artie, just loved it!

He and Kelly even went sledding!

Last weekend, it was “Pet Day” at the Harley Dealer and he won a grooming gift certificate!

And at the Easter Egg Hunt for Dogs, he met the Bunny!!!

Thanks so much to Kelly for sharing her photos!!!

(If YOU have any to show us, don’t be shy! I’d love to post them here on the blog. (Send them to crystal at beadhappilyeverafter dot com)

For those who celebrate Easter, I wish you wonderful day! Take it easy on those chocolate eggs and jelly beans.
No, wait! It’s a holiday – eat whatever you like. 🙂

Happy Weekend to all . . .

Hugs,

OK, so here’s the deal . . .

Crystal says you’re probably tired of hearing about Peeps, but I’ve convinced her to let me talk to ya because this is my chance for 15 minutes of fame!!! 🙂

You see, she crocheted me last week, and I was supposed to have a whole bunch of friends in different colors – but she ran out of time and now it’s almost Easter!

She suggested that I wait until next year to make my debut here on the blog.

C’MON! That’s 12 months from now!!!!!

So, here I am!

You know Crystal – she likes to embellish things.

She placed a flower at my ear.

A FLOWER???

I’m a PEEP for heaven’s sakes!!!! I look just fine – plain!

Oh, one more thing! I’m supposed to mention that you can find the pattern Crystal used for me here.

If you celebrate Easter, Crystal and I wish you a very happy one!

And may all of us have a super weekend. 😀

With hugs from,

Your Pal the Bunny Peep

Is she gone? 😉

Ok, good!

You may remember that my daughter lives with her husband in Europe and that she LOVES the Easter “Peeps”. (There’s a funny story about our efforts to send her some last Easter. You can find it here.)

This year, I found a new way to celebrate her fondness for peeps – I made her an Easter card.

Notice the little rubber stamp in the top right of this photo? When I saw that stamp, I just had to buy it.

Here is my “peeps” card! It’s fairly small – about 4″ x 5″. To make the envelope, I took apart an old white one, and then used it as a template for the striped paper.

I don’t think she’ll mind if I show you the inside . . .

(Tulips are her favorite flower!)

Gosh, it was fun to do.

I must try to find the time to play with paper more often!

Peeps update! 🙂

Oh my goodness! I forgot to report on how things went with the peeps. (original post here) My daughter said that everything arrived in fine shape. She said the candy peeps were in perfect condition, even though the little cellophane package they come in had a slight bend in it. And the plush “toy” peep only needed a few pats to make his “fur” look good as new. 🙂 Yay!!!

We were so relieved to hear it. In the future though, we’ll probably make sure we have the right shipping box at home – ahead of time! No more assuming we can find an appropriate size, last minute, at the post office.

Spring girlsTo those who celebrate Easter, I wish you a very lovely day!

And may every one of us have a relaxing and refreshing Spring weekend!

Thanks a million for your sweet and thoughtful comments! Meet ya back here on Monday for another fun week! 😀

Hugs,

She Loves Her Peeps

Marshmallow Peeps – you either love ‘em or hate ‘em.

There seems to be no in-between.

peepscandy

Our daughter LOVES them.

She lives overseas and she can’t find Peeps there.

Last week, we noticed that the Easter Peeps were back on the shelves of our stores. We also saw small “plush” peeps for the first time. We decided it would be fun to send both items to her! 🙂

peepsplush

I don’t know if you do much shipping to Europe. The priority mail flat rate box costs $13.45, which seems pretty expensive for the size of it, but money is no object when you want to surprise your kid with something she likes, right? 😉 We figured that one sleeve of candy peeps and the little plush peep could ride together in that flat rate box, and we were excited at the thought of our daughter opening it!

The Best Laid Plans . . .

peepsborder

We didn’t actually have a flat rate box at home. No problem though; we’d just wrap up the candy and the chick and make a mailing label. Sir Beads would get a box at the post office, pop the items in, and the package would be on the way. It sounded like a good plan but . . .

Have you ever made a cross-country trip with your family in a very crowded car? You know – a trip that leaves you all rumpled and in desperate need of a comb when it’s over?

peepsborder

Well, we’re afraid the plush peep may be limping and woozy once he is sprung from his cardboard traveling vehicle. Sir Beads said legroom was pretty scarce with that sleeve of marshmallow peeps in the way. He barely got the box closed. Thank heaven for good tape. (The next size flat rate priority box would have cost a whopping $43.45 – way too much to mail just a few dollars worth of items.)

So now, we’re crossing our fingers that our daughter can perform some sort of resuscitation on the little fella. Maybe a session with the hairdryer on low, or a few strokes with a soft hairbrush. I’ll let you know!

In the meantime, if you love Peeps, they have a website that’s a Disney-esque paradise of color and excitement! You can tour the factory, read about their history, find craft ideas, even recipes! Click here to see it.
