Snowbound

Around here, itโ€™s been a while since we had a weekday snowstorm large enough that even Sir Beads had a โ€œsnow dayโ€ from work!

Itโ€™s a winter wonderland out there. ๐Ÿ™‚

View From My Kitchen Window

What a gift it is to have a day with no formal schedule besides jumping up every so often to peek out the window and watch Mother Nature frost the trees with fluffy icing.

During the afternoon, there was time for a little crafting along with the snow shoveling. Suddenly, I had the idea to look for “old” snow photos and I found a couple to show you…

Here I am with my oldest daughter in 1978. At that very moment, I was 9 months pregnant with her younger sister!

And here in the mid-1980’s is that aforementioned younger sister, whose motto has always been: If life gives you snow โ€“ make a snowman! (In this case, a “snow dino”!) ๐Ÿ˜‰

Itโ€™s going to be Laziti here for supper, tonight.

Nothing like the warmth of pasta on a snowy evening!

Snuggle up!

Hugs,

TGIF, Etc.

Can you believe it’s July, already?

My fingers are crossed that many of you will be having a long weekend – since the 4th falls on a Sunday, this year. ๐Ÿ™‚

Sir Beads is on vacation next week, and I’ve promised to take take the week off with him. We’ll be doing some much needed home repairs and spending time with my parents, who will soon be celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary! We’ll also try to work in a day trip or two.

But, I’ll be back here one week from Monday (on July 12th), and I hope you’ll join me then!

I‘ll miss you, Kids! I appreciate your warmth and sweet comments more than words can say!

Sending many hugs and my warmest wishes for you to find a little time to relax and have some fun this weekend. ๐Ÿ˜€

See ya on the 12th!

Friday Favorites – Breakfast

hearts-border31

It’s Friday, which of course means that Saturday and Sunday are upon us. Woo hoo!

In my humble opinion, the best part of the weekend is BREAKFAST! ๐Ÿ˜€

There’s time to linger over a leisurely meal with extra cups of tea or coffee.

And, there’s time to have something more substantial than a quick bowl of cereal or a piece of toast.

In our house, it also means that I’m off cooking duty, as Sir Beads is usually the “weekend breakfast cook”!

Here’s what he made last Saturday morning!

Hope you have a chance for a nice breakfast this weekend. If nobody feels like cooking – then just go out. That’s even more fun and usually a good deal, too!

Thanks so much, everyone, for another great week of comments.

Meet ya back here on Monday. ๐Ÿ™‚

Hugs,

The Thaw is Over

Remember that warm spell I mentioned earlier in the week?

It disappeared in a heartbeat! ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

The weekend’s almost here and I think our plans will be pretty low-key.

When the thermometer reads like this . . .

And the view out the window is this . . .

Snow

It’s best to spend the weekend close to this . . .

And maybe do a little of this . . .
