She’s STILL Talking

How can this be my 600th post????

And while the number 600 isn’t necessarily one of the usually celebrated milestones, let’s party anyway!

Pass the noisemakers; don’t be shy – put on one of the party hats, too!!!

What’s a party without a door prize, so how about a giveaway?

Teal Drops

For these earrings, I used both Vintage and Contemporary Swarovski Crystals in glorious shades of Teal and Deep Purple! They measure approximately 1 1/2″ long, and feature sterling silver earwires.

If you’d like a chance to win them, answer “Count me in” at the end of the following “mini questionnaire” I have for you, today.

(PLEASE answer the questions even if you do not want to be entered in the giveaway.)

1. Does this page load quickly or slowly for you? (I’m trying to determine if some of the items in my sidebar are slowing this page too much.)

2. Do you find it too much effort to read blogs that update daily? Would new posts a few times a week be just as good, in your opinion?

3. What fascinates you? (I know it might seem like a tough question but I ask because I’m looking for things that truly pique your interest. Perhaps I can include posts on them in the future.

4. For the earrings giveaway, will you choose “Count me in” or “Not this time” for your answer?

A winner will be chosen at random on Monday, March 28th!

The Boring Stuff . . .
You must be 18 yrs. old. After the completion of the contest, the name of the winner will be listed here. The winner will also be notified by email. If the winner fails to respond to email within 3 days from the time notification email has been sent, the win will be null and void and a new winner will be chosen. The prize will be mailed via USPS First Class Mail

All entries must be received by 9:00 p.m. EST on 03/27/11, and the winner will be selected on or about 03/28/11.

Hugs,

Weekend Report

Hello!
Before I get to the weekend report, I just want to mention how much fun it was for me to see all of you kids talking to each other in Friday’s comments section. Yay for coffee with friends! 🙂

It was a nice weekend.

We began Friday night by attending the 50th wedding anniversary celebration for a couple who have been our good friends for over 25 years. They’re a bit older than Sir Beads and I, and we’ve always sort of looked up to them. They’re the kind of warm, generous, and exceptionally thoughtful people that you just don’t meet very often in this world. They’ve celebrated with us through happy times and been close by during sad times. With them, we’ve created some great memories, which are now firmly woven into the tapestry of our lives. It was a delight for us to toast their 50th. 🙂

Saturday was errands/chores day – I know, not very exciting – but we did have a delicious Italian dinner that night, and earlier in the day I spruced up the front door for autumn!

Then on Sunday, we drove to Cape Cod to visit my parents. One of our daughters came along, too. It’s tough for us at this time of year because – very soon – Mum and Dad will return to Florida for the winter. I hate to see them go, but I understand that after dealing with the harsh New England winters for most of their lives, they welcome the warmer climate. Our countdown until spring (when they return) begins the minute they leave!

But how about you? What were you up to this weekend?

Hugs,

What Day Is It?

Hi there, Kids! 😀

If you have a chance to regularly read the comments here, then you know that Kelly Ann usually gives us a little weekly report on what “holidays” are scheduled for that week. It’s always fun to read the variety on her list, and it’s very sweet of her to take the time to compile it for us.

For example, this week in one of her comments, she let us know that

Monday was National Sausage Pizza Day (along with Columbus Day).

Tuesday was International Moment of Frustration Scream Day (Crystal says: “Gosh, don’t ya just love that one?”)

Wednesday was National Bring Your Teddy Bear To Work & School Day

Friday (tomorrow) will be Boss’s Day

Of course there can’t be “holidays” EVERY day of the week, but there’s an interesting coincidence about this week’s list!

Did you happen to notice there wasn’t anything for today – Thursday? 😉

Could the reason be that today is . . . .

CAROL’S BIRTHDAY??!!??

Please join me in wishing Carol a very
HAPPY BIRTHDAY – filled with fun and sweet surprises! 😀

(I’d love to wish YOU a happy birthday on your day, too. Just click here to let me know the date!)

Many Happy Returns

It’s his birthday…

But each year, I feel as if I’ve received the gift – having him in my life! 😀

My heart can’t help but cherish the day my soul mate arrived on earth.

This year is one of those “milestone” birthdays for Sir Beads.

How many candles? Well, let’s just say he’s close to retiring. Though to look at him, you might not believe it.

What’s a birthday without a favorite dinner?

The guy loves ribs so we went to a place that prepares them just right . . . and with plenty of napkins. 😉

Next, he chose something that is not traditionally a birthday dessert – strawberry shortcake! It was soooo good and the slivered almonds were a nice touch.

My birthday is just around the corner….

I may just have to go for the shortcake this time, too. 😀

Sunrise Sunset

Please forgive me if my recent posts have been heavy on the family stuff. I have just one more to finish the week. I’m guessing you’ll let me off the hook because today is my daughter’s birthday! 🙂

balloondividerz

The song, “Sunrise Sunset”, from “Fiddler on the Roof” has the kind of lyrics that tug at the ole heartstrings of a parent. That tune was playing in my head as I looked at photos of her earliest celebrations. I don’t think she’ll mind if I mention she’s “thirty-something” today. 😉

Is this the little girl I carried?
Is this the little boy at play?
I don’t remember growing older
When did they?

2nd birthday

When did she get to be a beauty?
When did he grow to be so tall?
Wasn’t it yesterday
When they were small?
