Weekend Report

Hello!
Before I get to the weekend report, I just want to mention how much fun it was for me to see all of you kids talking to each other in Friday’s comments section. Yay for coffee with friends! πŸ™‚

It was a nice weekend.

We began Friday night by attending the 50th wedding anniversary celebration for a couple who have been our good friends for over 25 years. They’re a bit older than Sir Beads and I, and we’ve always sort of looked up to them. They’re the kind of warm, generous, and exceptionally thoughtful people that you just don’t meet very often in this world. They’ve celebrated with us through happy times and been close by during sad times. With them, we’ve created some great memories, which are now firmly woven into the tapestry of our lives. It was a delight for us to toast their 50th. πŸ™‚

Saturday was errands/chores day – I know, not very exciting – but we did have a delicious Italian dinner that night, and earlier in the day I spruced up the front door for autumn!

Then on Sunday, we drove to Cape Cod to visit my parents. One of our daughters came along, too. It’s tough for us at this time of year because – very soon – Mum and Dad will return to Florida for the winter. I hate to see them go, but I understand that after dealing with the harsh New England winters for most of their lives, they welcome the warmer climate. Our countdown until spring (when they return) begins the minute they leave!

But how about you? What were you up to this weekend?

Hugs,

Weekend Report — 7 Comments

  1. Omgosh! I forgot I was supposed to report back. I shoulda took notes..lets see.

Stayed home Friday, recouping after a work crazy day.

Saturday picked up my cable digital boxes so we could continue to get all the stations we are paying for. Then we roamed around that area looking at Halloween decorations. Terry put on a mask and scared some kids at one of the stores who thought that was just GREAT! He’s such a kid magnet. Then we came home and spent a lovely quiet rest of the day because Laurie took the kids to Chicago to eat at Ed Devic. Why anyone would pay outrageous prices to be insulted is beyond me. Besides, those boys did not need more tips on how to be smart-a**s.

Sunday I did laundry and putzed. Where did Sunday go!

And here I am this morning. I’ll come back later to see if anyone has any EXCITING news to report.

    Have an excitingly wonderful day!!

  2. Good Morning
A little windy and cool this past week end but I’ll take it. We went to a hockey game (11 year olds) and a football game (9 year olds). Friday night I had all three grand kids spend the night. Sunday I picked up another grandchild and took him to visit his cousins. It was fun and busy.

  3. School and homework took up so much of this weekend, but I did get the house decorated for Halloween. It looks great. I also baked some Mississippi Mud bars for my husband who was out of town this weekend. He came home last night and we rode one Harley to dinner. School is closed tomorrow and a group of us older students are going to lunch. I’m looking forward to that.

I always wondered if anyone else enjoyed the kooky holidays that I post, now that I know that you do, I will continue to post them. This week we celebrate
10/18 National Chocolate Cupcake day, no-one says that they have to be homemade. Hostess here I come.
    10/20 is Hagfish day
    10/22 is CAPS LOCK DAY.
    Happy Holidays, everyone.

  4. Well, for nearly a week I was Macaulay Culkin…home alone until Sunday morning because my sweetie was on a business trip. On Saturday, I went to my nephew’s karate class (so cute) and then went suit and sportcoat shopping with my Dad. I think this is the first time I ever went picking out clothes for him before. It was actually fun until he started trying on shoes (lol at the irony). Friday was a blur…really don’t remember what I did so it was probably a day spent staring at the computer while I was supposed to be writing.

  5. Morning Crystal! Your weekend sounded lovely…although the thought of your parents leaving soon isn’t. πŸ™ … But they’ll enjoy the warm Florida sunshine while we’re shoveling show, so that’s a good thing! πŸ˜€

I love your adorable pumpkin door decoration!

Hagfish Day?? I have to look up what a Hagfish is?!! Too funny!

    xoxo’s Paulette

  6. I spent the weekend relaxing with my family & my new baby boy! (born 10-8-10, 6 lbs. 15 oz) We had family stop by to visit, but most of my time was spent tending to baby’s needs and resting. (we watched a lot of football, too)

What in the world is hagfish? It certainly does not sound appetizing.
