Friday Favorites

I miss the weekly question!

It’s been a while since we’ve had one.

Many of you have told me that you enjoy answering them, so I thought for this week’s Friday Favorites, I would ask – three! πŸ˜€

(I’ll answer them in the comments section later today.)

And if you have a question that you’d like me to ask the group in a future post, email it to:

1. What shape is your table – the one where you eat your meals – oval, round, square, or rectangular?

2. Have you ever been on a subway train?

3. Can you use chop sticks?

You know I send a hug with every blog post, but since today is National Hugging Day (Thanks Kelly, for the heads-up!) – I’ll be sending extra hugs to all! πŸ˜€

See ya Monday!

Hugs + extra hugs,

Noodling Around

Monday Greetings!

On Friday, Carapace hoped I’d be “swimming in beads” over the weekend . . .

I was! πŸ˜‰ (And I hope she had a chance to paint!)

I began by working on some jewelry orders, but I made sure to spend a little time “playing”, too.

I wanted to come up with a creative use for these beautiful Vintage Swarovski jewelry components.

Because they’re such sparkling “hoops” – earrings seemed to be a natural choice, but I didn’t want to go the usual route of using wire or jump rings to make them dangle . . .

Ever since I returned to using thread last month with my Summer Wind flat spiral bracelet, I’ve been reminded just how much I enjoy it.

So I dug out the 11/0 seed beads and here’s what I ended up with. Earrings!!!

They’re based on a Dulcey Heller design, and I may have to make some in other colors, as well! I have some gold rings with ruby red rhinestones that would be gorgeous for the holidays!

If you like to “play” with beads – the rhinestone rings seen above are available in my shop.

Are you ready for a weekly question? πŸ˜€

Here at our house, whenever we lose power during a storm, we have multiple clocks blinking as soon as the electricity is restored. Sometimes, right after we get every one of them reset, the power goes off AGAIN – for a minute or two (kind of a practical joke from the electric company, I suppose) so we have to do all of them a second time. Grrr! This has had us wondering if we really need all the clocks as we have.

How many clocks you have in your house? And could you function without a few of them?

Hugs,

This and That

Welcome, welcome! How was the weekend?

Busy? Relaxing? Too short? (Oh yeah, on that last one!)

We’re living in a crazy world, Kids. Lately, I’m concerned I may be missing some of your comments. It’s not enough that we are plagued with telemarketers, junk mail, and email spam (even though we jump through hoops to be taken off lists). The newest menace is “comment spam”, and it’s growing by leaps and bounds. This blog has an automatic filter that catches spam comments – but it’s not perfect. Sometimes it also “catches” wonderful comments!!! πŸ™

When my blog was new, it was easy for me to sift through the small number of spams to look for any legitimate comments. But these days, the spam program can gather 200+ “spams” in a matter of hours! It’s no longer practical for me to skim through all of them, so I have to just empty the whole folder. I HATE to think that YOUR comment might be deleted along with all the spam.

What to do? Well, let me know if you don’t see your comment show up on a particular post. I usually try to approve comments several times a day, so if the day is over, and your comment is missing, please drop me a note by clicking here.

OK, on to this week’s question:

When you buy shampoo, lotions, toothpaste, lipstick, etc., must you have your favorite brand? Do you experiment with different brands? Or do you just buy the one that’s on sale?

Hugs,
