Do you ever feel as if your lists have lists?
You know – there’s a lot to do, but not enough time to do it?
I’m in that club! π
This summer, I’ve really been hoping to make a dent in my “to-do” list. I should say, right up front, that it’s not all chores! At least half of the items are fun. π
Crystal’s List:
* Big chores that need to be done periodically.
* Small chores that I need to complete.
* New projects and craft techniques I’d like to try.
* Then there are the crafts I enjoy doing – but can’t seem to squeeze into my regular schedule.
It really hit me yesterday that summer is flying, and I’d better jump in and scratch a few things off that old list! π
Hmmmm . . . chores???
No way!
Learn a new technique?
Not enough time at the moment.
Do something fun that I haven’t done for a while?
Bingo!!!!
May I present Exhibit A?
I hadn’t realized how much I missed working with thread and beads until I began this bracelet.
It’s made with Swarovski Crystals and Glass Seed Beads in shades of Cobalt Blue and Amethyst Aurora Borealis.
The sparkle is really fabulous! Wish I could hand it to you through the computer screen, so you could hold it near the light and be dazzled! π
The moral of this story? Don’t put off something you enjoy! I beg you to do as I say (not as I do!).
Summer is flying ya know . . .
(What’s on your list?)
xoxo
Bingo is RIGHT!! Is this the notorious flat spiral pattern? I haven’t beaded anything for a little while. I just don’t know how to divide my time. I have been limiting my computer time a little and filled that spot with reading. Recently completed: The Girl With The Dragon Tatoo. Though the first in a trilogy, I will start my next Bead Journal Project page before I start book two.
Glad you got to cross something off your list. Its a beeeeyouuuuuteeeeful piece.
xx, Carol
That bracelet is really pretty! And it looks like it took alot of patience and time!
But on a more serious note… must you remind us that summer is flying? There was so much I wanted to do on my list and I dont think I managed to do anything this summer! On the bright side, almost time for school to start, so peace and quiet for me π
So true, live each day as if it was your last.Tell your friends and family how you love them every day and do the things that give you joy:)
Yes, Carol!
It’s the flat spiral – I love how fast it works up. π
okay…..so NOW i know where i’ve seen you…..we’re in the same “lists club”!! of course, you may not have seen me, because i usually sneak in late to meetings and then duck out early, mainly due to all of the other things that need to be crossed off my lists for that day…..
but, hey, i’m absolutely LOVING the way you tackle a list, miss crystal girl!!! this bracelet is nothing short of STUN-NING, and would make any girl feel like a princess!!! what a super way to chase away the blues of all that list-making!!!
xox, :))
Oh my goodness! Is that ever GORGEOUS! I love your bracelet, Crystal. I can just imagine how that must sparkle in the sun!
My sister and I are like little girls when it comes to sparklys. We always run out into the sun to see how things sparkle…and there are certain lights in the stores (especially jewelry stores) that make things REALLY twinkle too. Whenever we’re anywhere with that good lighting, we hold out our hands and say “look, ring lights!” Okay…here I am babbling again. It’s so easy to babble here, Crystal, you make us all feel so at home!
I say scratch everything off your list except creative time, and continue making more of your beautiful things!

How gorgeous! It amazes me how you can make a bracelet with
thread and beads. Lovely color and design…
Thanks, Cindi
Your jewelry is always so pretty. I have been getting ready for school next week so my list is dwindling. Once school starts so does my job since I work for them as well as take classes. I will be hitting the ground running next week.
That’s a beautiful bracelet. I can’t even imagine the cost of all those crystals!! I hope you are planning to put it in YOUR jewelry box.
I will have to try that.
I love making lists. I always have one in my purse. And when I am too lazy to pull it out to add to it, I end up with multiple lists. Usually with the same items. π
I make lists, then I pretend that I have done all on the list, so I can go to my computer!
As Annie says – “Tomorrow, tomorrow……”
Oooo – pretty bracelet!
Hey Crystal!! What size crystals did you use for the core?
I watched a YouTube demonstration and I think I am ready to try it. Wish me luck. π
Hi Donna π
I used 6mm – I think 8mm would be gorgeous, but cost is always a factor! Darn it! π

What a pretty bracelet! Practically everything on my summer to do list got ignored in favor of fun things I’d rather be doing. Oh well! Now there will be something to keep my busy during the winter!
This was the first bracelet I learned to make. I have a friend who took the class with me and whips them up for charity events and gifts all the time. Yours is a beauty.
Making lists is a must for me because of my age. π lol There are a lot of techniques and projects I want to learn and do. However I find that Summer is a tough time to do anything as I have shows on weekends I do, special orders and I work full time. I try to do certain things just to be ready for shows. I also try to do fun things, you gotta play too!
