Must Be Cracking Up

Crystal likes to use magnets on the refrigerator. They hold her shopping list, stray coupons, family photos, business cards, recipes, etc.

Several of the magnets are not holding anything, however. She uses those in a random rotation to signal that the dishes in the dishwasher are clean. Really! πŸ˜‰

When she turns on the dishwasher – she sticks a magnet on the closed door. After she puts away the clean dishes – she removes the magnet and places it back on the refrigerator. This is not a foolproof system. Sometimes she forgets to put one on… or even worse – take one off. Then, it’s anybody’s guess if the dishes are clean or dirty.

Two years ago, she found this cute little fella on display at a kitchen store.
“How kitchen-y and cute!” she thought. She had to have him.

Mr. Egg has had a home on her fridge ever since. He’s often chosen as the “dishwasher-on” sentry.

Now, seriously, wouldn’t you think that in two years of using him that she would have noticed he’s not just a magnet?

One day, as she was returning him to the fridge, she saw something on the bottom. “Huh? What’s this?” she wondered.

Well, it turned out to be . . . A tape measure!

And how does the tape measure rewind? You push his nose.

The absent-minded professor has nothing on Crystal.
Poor girl! Sometimes it seems as if she’s one sandwich short of a picnic. πŸ˜‰

  1. That is just too funny! He’s a really cute tool, too. But I gotta tell you, I don’t know how you missed THAT one. Or, maybe I better go check my frig…there might be a timer lurking there.

Have a great day. It’s storming here and Junior is pacing scared. I’ve been debating whether I should stay home with him. I just might have too, yep, maybe.
    xx, Carol

  2. How cute is that!! When is moving day? Won’t he now have to move to the Craft Room? πŸ˜€

Even though there is a little red light that stays on until someone opens the dishwasher door, hubby STILL asks, “Are these dishes clean?” Driving me crazy and it’s a short trip. I try to rush over to empty out the dishes as soon as I think my fingers won’t get burned. πŸ˜€

  3. Hes so cute!!!….just wish the ironing could get done by pressing just one button lol.

  4. Crystal, you “crack” me up! Pun intended….lol! What a little clever egg he is.

I like your magnet/dishwasher thing you do. I may just have to try that, since I’m always hearing the “are these dishes clean or dirty?” question.

Have a wonderful day! I’m back to playing with my beads and finishing my challenge pieces. πŸ˜‰

  5. Oh yes, Michelle!
    Great idea!!! πŸ˜€
We need something like the Staples “easy button” for ironing.
    (I WISH!)

  6. I like the little egg guy, he is adorable. I like the dishwasher magnet idea.

We adopted an 18 month old Alaskan Malamute/Golden Retriever mix last weekend. Artie and Kouga are getting along fine and playing. This dog was rescued from the pound with only 1 hr to live. He is so sweet and underweight about 25 lbs. We are working on that along with commands. He loves his new bed, dog brother, and treats. He doing pretty good with the potty training too.

I will finish the semester this week. I don’t have to take finals in two classes because I have A’s in the class and the teachers drop the lowest test grade. Looking forward to a light load this summer.

  7. My face is starting to hurt from giggling. Your posts are so entertaining! This little guy is very cute, and I love his hidden talent! xo Paulette πŸ˜€
