Friday Funnies

This week ends with a vintage illustration that will hopefully bring a smile.

You gotta love fellas. Women may be exceptionally creative – but men are just born inventors! πŸ˜‰

And before I forget, thank you for your answers to the jewelry survey. It was very helpful to “hear” your feedback, and how interesting that almost every one of you prefer silver over gold!

Savor this weekend, Kids! The holiday rush will be upon us shortly . . .

Giggles for a Friday

So whadda ya think?

Is this lady an extremely fussy ironer who noticed a wrinkle after hubby got dressed, and had to drop everything to smooth things out before she’d let him out the door?

Or is she somebody who avoids ironing at all costs, but decided, at the last second, she couldn’t let him be seen in public with a mass of wrinkles? πŸ˜‰

Well Kids, another week has flown by.

Hope you all have a frightfully good Halloween weekend – filled with treats!

(Try to avoid ladies with candy corn!) πŸ˜‰

Friday Favorites Flintstones

Fred, Wilma, Barney, Betty, Pebbles, Bamm-Bamm, and Dino are celebrating a milestone birthday this week!

It’s hard to believe that TV’s first animated prime time sitcom turned 50 yesterday!

I loved this cast of characters from the moment they arrived on the scene.

Who could resist a pair of comedic cavemen and their endearing camaraderie that mimicked the style of Jackie Gleason and Art Carney in The Honeymooners?

And those ladies!!! They stole my heart as soon as I caught sight of their jewelry! Talk about having a way with rocks! πŸ˜‰

So Kids, I’m dedicating this week’s Friday Favorites to the Flintstones. May they have the happiest of birthdays, and many more!

An interesting article on the show and its history can be found here.

Hope your weekend has a bunch of “yabba dabba doo” moments!!

See you Monday. πŸ™‚

Hugs,

Sharing A Laugh

Way, way, back in the olden days, even before there were blogs . . . πŸ˜‰

There were women saying funny things in newspapers and books.

One of them was Peg Bracken, and I’d like to feature her in this edition of Friday Favorites.

Peg wrote several books including the “I Hate to Cook Book” and the “I Hate to Housekeep Book”. Later, they were combined into one hilarious volume, where the accent is on comedy, interspersed with words of wisdom and some pretty good recipes, too.

Here’s a brief snippet illustrating her priceless sense of humor:

Hope you have lots of laughter in your weekend!

Smiles and Hugs,
