Friday Favorites Flintstones

Fred, Wilma, Barney, Betty, Pebbles, Bamm-Bamm, and Dino are celebrating a milestone birthday this week!

It’s hard to believe that TV’s first animated prime time sitcom turned 50 yesterday!

I loved this cast of characters from the moment they arrived on the scene.

Who could resist a pair of comedic cavemen and their endearing camaraderie that mimicked the style of Jackie Gleason and Art Carney in The Honeymooners?

And those ladies!!! They stole my heart as soon as I caught sight of their jewelry! Talk about having a way with rocks! πŸ˜‰

So Kids, I’m dedicating this week’s Friday Favorites to the Flintstones. May they have the happiest of birthdays, and many more!

An interesting article on the show and its history can be found here.

Hope your weekend has a bunch of “yabba dabba doo” moments!!

See you Monday. πŸ™‚

Hugs,

  1. Isn’t that when cartoons were the REAL thing. O, my age is showing, huh.
When Terry and I were talking about this anniversary the other day, he asked me why do I think they never let Wilma drive?

Why do you think they didn’t?

  2. Thanks Crystal
You have a good week end.
I’m spending time with the wee ones. That means lots of laughter and lots of food. But they have to pay me for the food – in hugs. I love it.

  3. Have a great weekend everyone. I loved the episode when the Jetsons and the Flintstones met. I can still sing the Flinstone’s song.

  4. The Flinstones are such fun, and I LOVE The Honeymooners…Frank and I always joke because he’s sooo much like Ralph, and I’m a lot like Alice!
