Some Days You’re The Statue

You know what they say…. Some days you’re the pigeon; some days you’re the statue.

I’m writing this on Thursday night and today I was definitely the statue.

I had the feeling it was going be an interesting day when, early on, I knocked over my cup of tea. In what seemed like slow motion, it traveled to the floor – splashing like a tidal wave – leaving tea on the wall, the table, the lamp, my upholstered chair, and the rug! Ay yi yi – talk about a mess.

The day continued with a series of little mishaps (I won’t bore you with the list) and it culminated in a very tough battle with a nasty computer virus that had me against the ropes for several hours. I think I’ve finally cleared it . . . but, at this point, all I want to do is put my cheek here on the keyboard and go to sleep. Thank goodness, Sir Beads and I had already planned some fun for this weekend!

All’s well now, and to quote Scarlett O’ Hara: “Tomorrow is another day!” (Gosh I’m glad this one is almost over!) 😉

Happy Weekend, Kids!

Don’t forget to “fall back”!

Hugs and smiles,

  1. O Man. What a mess that tea made!!
Sometimes something happens early on in the day that foretells what the rest of the day has to bring. I call those days Bad Bio Rhythm Days.
I don’t remember what the Bio Rhythm thing is all about. I just remember my computer friend designed a program, back when computers were first invented, that charted three things and when the graphs intersected at a certain point you were sure to have a bad day. It was really accurate too. So yesterday must have been your BBR Day. The day FOLLOWING the BBR is usually great. So ….
Have a great day after!! and a great weekend.

  2. Today will be my ‘statue’ day.
I’m going on a field trip to Sturbridge with 200 8th graders! I will ride a big yellow school bus for over an hour while those hormone crazed kids scream, eat, sing and mess around. Then I’ll try to organize my group, walk around the rain and cold for 3 hours – keeping those rug rats together and on task (they have some questions to answer). Then back on the bus for lunch during the ride home. I already dread this one.

  3. Ugh Sounds like you had a heck of a day or evening! I know what those feel like! Hopefully today went much better and that you have a wonderful weekend!

  4. I call those days snake bit days, because that is what my granny always said. There are those days when you wish you could go to bed and start all over. On the computer there is the escape key, I need one of them in real life.

I’m hoping tomorrow will be a better day for you. Maybe we could play the name game with the first letter from our last name since everyone seemed to like it. Have a great weekend everyone.

  5. Oh gosh…that didn’t sound like a good day…but I hope your fun weekend plans with Sir Beads came to be. Nothing like a Knight in shinning armor to wisp you away when things get messy! 😉 xoxo’s Paulette
