Contest Rules and How To Enter

Any day you leave a comment on this blog – it is counted as a chance to enter that week’s giveaway.

For example, if you answer today’s question (you’ll find it below!) that will give you one chance.

But if you then come back another day this week and comment on a different post – you will have earned another chance in this week’s giveaway! There are usually 4-5 posts per week – Monday through Friday – so you can have multiple chances to enter!

When you comment you do not have to mention that it’s an entry in the giveaway. My blog program shows me all of the “comments” as they come in – so I do not miss any of them, and all will count to be entered into the drawing! 😀

Today’s question is:

In all of your years at school – from the early years to the later years – which one teacher was your favorite and why was this teacher memorable?

  1. My fave teacher was Mrs. Posti from high school because she was SO difficult. She used to hit us on the head with a ruler all the time and continuously tell us we’re dumb but we found it so funny. She also used to make us sit straight and hold a book over our head to prove we were doing so.

She was a wonderful teacher in general and really taught us more than she ever needed to. I still remember to sit straight and be polite like she taught us. 🙂

Btw, I listed your giveaway in my blog, as usual!

Crystal says: Thank you, Ronit! 🙂

  2. I was homeschooled so hands down my mom was my favorite teacher – not a lot of choice but I did learn a lot! Thanks

  3. I had the same choir teacher for 6 years. He was a great role model and made going to school easier on the hard days. And, in middle as well as high school there were a lot of “teenage” difficult days. I think I’ll go to my schools website to see if he is still there. Fun question.

  4. In all of your years at school – from the early years to the later years – which one teacher was your favorite and why was this teacher memorable?

Mrs. Patilo (also known as Mrs. Potatoe head)

I moved alot-13 times in 11 years! I went to this small, backwoods, farm community school for 5th and 6th grades. I had the same classroom and teacher both years because there were two grades per room and teacher-that is how small it was. There were 6 5th graders and I think 7 6th graders. Anyway Mrs. Patilo (probably spelling it wrong) was honest with me, she told me I had an attitude problem and that I would not get far in life because of it-I may have not listened at that time, but it is always in the back of my head as an adult. She is so right! She is also the last teacher I ever fell asleep in class with-she slammed a huge Social studies book down beside my head. I never fell asleep in class again!

  5. Hmmm…I was blessed to have had several really great teachers, some of whom I’m still friendly (and occasional pen pals) with still today. My favorite, though, would have to be Mrs. Ankrom. She was tough…very tough! It was virtually impossible to get an ‘A’ on one of her tests (U.S. Government), but it was also virtually impossible to leave her class or a test without having learned…a lot! I respected her tremendously, and still think of her often. I wonder sometimes ‘what Mrs. Ankrom would think of this?’.
Oh, just remembered this: We used to play Jeopardy! in her class on the chalkboard. It was so fun! Years later I was a contestant on the actual TV show Jeopardy!–a dream come true for me. I got a letter from Mrs. Ankrom saying that she’d watched it and was proud of me. That was one of MY proudest moments! 🙂

    Thanks…that was fun to remember!

  6. I loved the teacher of biology and chemistry. I studied at the Lyceum class three years with in-depth study of these objects. Then I went to the medical academy and become a doctor, but rather a teacher and a doctor.

  7. my grade 8 teacher Mrs. Olwen was amaaaaaaaaaaazing. she was my teacher, but also my mentor and always encouraged me to follow my dreams and to never give up on what i felt passionate about.

  8. Whenever asked this question, I think of my first grade teacher, Mrs. Donahue. Think old school, elderly with a gray bun in her hair. She was so sweet and compassionate. Loved her!

  9. One of my favorite teachers had to be Mrs. Layton, my sign language teacher. Not only did she introduce me to a whole new world, but she was a very understanding teacher. She really took the time to understand me as a person – not just a name or a face in a class she had to teach.

  10. I have a sister who is a year older–that was always every teacher’s pet–so every teacher I ever had–they had just had my sister the year before and loved her—they were all disappointed with me. Except one “Mr Joe” he was my drafting teacher and he didn’t compare me to my sister–and he made me feel talented–he loved my work and he really encouraged me.

  11. My favorite teacher was my 5th grade teacher, Mr. Mrak. He was just a very fun teacher. I learned a lot, but was not stressed out about it. If that makes sense, just a fun year all around!

  12. As owner of The Flirty Lasso I am happy to have found another bead store! I am always looking for new and interesting beads.

  13. My 5th grade teacher, Mrs Petrick who was fresh out of college. I learned a lot because she made learning fun and interesting. We had spelling bees set up like a baseball game. I remember that well!! Fun!

  14. My favorite teacher was my 6th grade teacher, Mr. Bowden. He was so funny and we learned a lot about things that weren’t taught from a textbook. He would bring interesting things the collected personally, then bring them to school and taught about historical events. For example he once brought in a comb made from pieces of the Hindenberg. Never forgot about the Hinderberg!
