Have you seen all of the “Keep Calm” signs on the internet, lately?
They’re usually pretty amusing (Keep Calm and Eat a Cookie),
and sometimes quite inspiring (Keep Calm and Count Your Blessings).
I did a little research and discovered that the original slogan (the one you see below) was on a poster created by the British government in the early days of World War II. It was part of series of three that were intended to raise the morale of the British people in the event of invasion. Full story here.
More recently (in 2000), a copy of a “Keep Calm and Carry On” poster turned up in a 2nd-hand book store in the UK. Because it was in the public domain by that time, the owners of the bookshop began to print copies at customers’ requests.
Since then, the pithy saying has taken fire! It seems everyone is having a ball thinking of different versions.
I have a few prepared but I thought it would be fun to have your suggestions! I’ll make little “blog posters” and show them here from time to time (with credit to you!). π
So what would you say?
“Keep Calm and ________”?
Hugs,
Keep Calm and Carry a song in your heart.

Are there cobras in North America? I was not aware….not indigenous, at least.
Oh, I just read it again, to keep them OUT of North America, gotcha.
Everyone has such postitive sayings! Makes me smile. π
BTW, I know several people named Bubba, My next door neighbor growing up was a little girl named Bubba (well, nicknamed, but that is what she went by).
Ok. Funny story…..
We nicknamed our youngest daughter “Bubba”. π
(I KNOW!!!)
Actually, I had the little cartoon character “Baba Looey” in mind when I started calling her that but, with my Boston accent, it really sounds as if I’m saying “bubba”.
I also call her “Bubba-Lou”. π (In recent years, she has taken to calling me “Momma-Lou!)
Always an amazingly happy kid – she never had any objections to being called bubba. Of course, we only used the name at home. If you are familiar with the cartoon character, you might understand why it seemed a perfect name for a cute little sidekick. “Baba-Looey” was Quick Draw McGraw’s little pal.
Tell me – am I the only one old enough to know who the heck Quick Draw Mc Graw was? LOL
Cute idea!
