A Short Break

Hi Kids! πŸ™‚
Hope you had a lovely weekend!

I’m going to take a short break from the blog.

(I’m talking days, not weeks.)

It’s all good . . . I just have things that I need to catch up on.

I’ll still be checking daily for comments (and will chime in myself if there are any!)

Kelly, if you want to keep telling us the days while I’m away – I’ll be sure they post.

Talk to all of you soon! πŸ˜€

Hugs,

A Short Break — 24 Comments

  1. Hi everyone,
I wanted to thank you for all your concern and thoughts of my family and I during the storms in Missouri. Everyone is ok and none of us suffered any damage to our homes or vehicles either. Flooding will be the next concern, but we are not in any of danger of that either. I will admit to being rain weary and storms are forecast until Thursday.

I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter. Kouga went egg hunting and even got a prize egg good for a dozen dog bakery treats. He has to share all the treats he got from hunting with Milele. She is just too aggressive to attend event with other dogs. She loves people but she is not a fan of other dogs, and if there is food or treats around it becomes even worse. Thank goodness her and Kouga are best buddies.

I can post the days each day on this post if it will be easier on Crystal.

    Here are today’s celebrations:
    4/25 World Penguin Day
4/25 Hug a Plumber Day (I will be particpating since my husband is a plumber)
    4/25 Red Hat Society Day
4/25 National Zucchini Bread Day (they hold this at a time when you are not sick of all that zucchini).

  2. Good Morning
Kelly, we are all so glad you and you family are OK. I wanted to EM you, but didn’t have your address but I was thinking of you from the minute I heard about the storm. We are always thankful when they are not in our area, but remember too they cause destruction somewhere.

Well, I won’t be hugging any plummers! I love Zucchini but the price is just not right at this time of the year. I think penguins are just too cool so I’ll be celebrating them!

Crissie, I’ll be thinking of you and sending you powerful energy while you focus on your projects.

    xx, Carol

  3. Hey Kelly – I don’t have a plumber to hug but I am very thankful for all plumbers.

Crystal – have a good break – get lots of stuff done. I have 4 rooms of furniture coming soon and that means I have to clear out 4 rooms of my stuff now. But the glitch, and there always seems to be a glitch, I’m working full time through the end of June so I’m not much help. Hubby will be cleaning and moving junk around. But come June I will have boxes and boxes of stuff to sort through. I need to get rid of piles of junk.

  4. Wishing you and your family some great quality time together,i hope you get most of what you want done.

  5. Thanks so much, everyone! πŸ˜€

Kelly, Leaving the β€œdays” on this post would be great! (Unless you’d like a break!).

Hey there, Carol, I can use all the positive energy that you can spare! πŸ˜€

Clenna, I hear ya about wanting to simplify some of the β€œstuff’ that we all accumulate over the years. How fabulous that you will have 4 new rooms of furniture!!!! Lucky Girl!

Michelle, How are things with your family? I have been thinking about you!

    I appreciate it, Donna!

  6. Crystal, enjoy your break! You deserve it!!

Kelly, I am glad all is well with you! The storms have been scary the last few days around here, too. (I am just “down the river” from you in Memphis) Luckily, we have not had the damage that you saw. Two more days of it though, they say things will improve after Wednesday. I am sick of hearing the tornado sirens!

    Take care everyone!

  7. 4/26 Executive Admin’s Day (Secretary’s Day)
4/26 National Kids and Pets Day (celebrating the special bond between kids and pets)
4/26 National Pretzel Day (I will be celebrating this today, I like soft pretzels) What is your favorite type of pretzel?
Auntie Annes Pretzels and Pretzel Time will be giving away free pretzels tomorrow (you may want to check your local locations)

  8. I like the “stick” pretzels! We buy a bag of them fairly often.

As a kid, I always thought it was fun having my own little one-person-sized box of them, though! πŸ™‚

  9. Hi Everyone,
We actually had a sunny day today before more rain moved in tonight. I hope someone is having beautiful spring weather.

    Today’s celebrations include
4/27 Babe Ruth Day (Babe Ruth Day honors one of Baseball’s greatest players ever), but if you want to celebrate the candy bar I won’t tell.
4/27 Tell a Story Day (Tell a Story Day celebrates story-telling of all kinds. It doesn’t matter if its fiction or non-fiction, a tall tale, or folk lore. Today is a day to tell ’em all. Stories can be from a book, other written material, or from memory).
    4/27 National Prime Rib Day

    Have a great day!

  10. Kelly,
The weather reports and stories that we see here for your area look so scary! I’m very glad you keep letting us know you are ok.

Sir Beads would be delighted to celebrate Prime Rib Day on any day of the year!!! πŸ˜€

  11. We are supposed to get some sunshine today, I’m keeping my fingers crossed. There were more storms across the U.S. tonight and I hope everyone is ok.

4/28 Kiss Your Mate Day (I like this one)
4/28 Take Our Daughters & Sons to Work Day
    4/28 National Blueberry Pie Day

  12. Allison,
I think yesterday’s wild weather was getting close to you? Please let us know that things are ok!

    Kelly,
Will definitely be kissing my mate – a few times – today (as usual)! πŸ˜€

  13. My sister is still in hospital, she has cellulitus and another infected spot on her back thats now an ulcer that may need surgical draining plus today she learned she has a herniated stoma which will also need surgery so theres no end in sight yet.
It also looks like our 13 year old lab is on her last legs and we will have to decide at what point we take her in in to the vets. But apart from that im ok,still fighting fibro every day and trying to cook more veggies daily….yesterday was zuchini quiche with a side of swiss chard and beans.today is beef and bok choy in black bean sauce and rice.last week i made corn tortillas from scratch but i dont think id do it again it wasnt any better than store bought ones πŸ™‚

  14. Oh Michelle,
I’m so sorry to hear this news.
It’s good to know you are taking care of yourself and eating healthy. I’ll bet the quiche was delicious.

Sending Hugs for you and your family!

  15. We had LOTS of storms and rain but luckily no tornados near me. Now we are dealing with flooding; there are lots of streets closed because of high water, some schools as well.
My cousin’s son goes to school in Tuscaloosa which was hardest hit. He is thankfully ok, although they have not found his car.
Michelle, I will keep you and your family in my prayers!

I hope everyone has a great weekend. πŸ™‚

  16. I’m late today, early appointment this morning and work afterwords.
Michelle, you and your family are dealing with so much. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. I’m glad you are taking care of yourself.

Allison I’m so glad your cousin’s son is ok, but it is still frustrating losing the car. I noticed the Tide Loads of Hope is going to Tuscaloosa to help out. Its amazing the outpouring of love and support everyone is giving to victims of these storms. Here in St. Louis they are doing multiple fundraisers and food, clothing, and toy drives.

4/29 National Hairball Awareness Day ( you can search the internet and see the creations people have made out of pet hair).
    4/29 Save the Frogs Day
4/29 Interstate Mullet Toss Days (folks pay good money to throw a dead fish across the Alabama/Florida state line to see who can throw one the furthest)
4/29 National Shrimp Scampi Day (one of my favorite seafood dishes)

  17. Allison,
Very glad to hear from you! πŸ™‚
The storm footage we have seen on the news is so frightening!

    Hi Kelly
Yay for frogs!!! (I loved them as a kid and now I have a frog pin collection!) πŸ™‚

    Dear Kids,
Enjoy the weekend. I hope to be back on Monday! πŸ™‚

  18. After 3 pretty days, we are back to stormy weather for the next few days. That is the last thing we need as we are still dealing with flooding.
At least we had a pretty Saturday for our first horse show for the year held at the barn I work for. We had a great turnout! Everyone had fun before the storms moved back in last night.
I know my daughter will celebrate save the frogs day–she LOVES frogs!

I am glad to know the mullet toss involves the fish and not the redneck “business in the front, party in the back” hairstyle!

    πŸ™‚

  19. No braiding for this show, it was an informal “schooling” type show. A lot of kids showing for the first time; they were so excited. I worked in the office processing entries.
I will be braiding a little bit for the next 2 weeks of shows, though.

  20. Allison,
It must be so much fun to see the young kids enjoying themselves! I’ll bet that takes you back to your first shows! πŸ˜€

  21. …I’m so out of touch with everything…I’ve been away for ages, but it’s always so nice to visit here, Crystal! xoxo πŸ™‚
