It’s The Thought That Counts

My oldest daughter is a journalist. While on assignment in South Africa last fall, she had an opportunity to do some Christmas shopping…

She came upon an outdoor artisansโ€™ market where she found something bead-y for her mom. ๐Ÿ˜‰

And this is what I opened on Christmas morning.

I’m absolutely thrilled with it… not just because I’m crazy about beads, and not just because I’m delighted to have something beautifully handmade from another country. To be sure, both of those reasons are true, but the most important reason I love it is that my girl thought of me when she saw it! ๐Ÿ˜€

I’d love to hear your thoughts!

Special Delivery

All three ladies, who were selected in the Spring Bead Challenge prize drawings, have now received their beads!

The 1st prize went to Donna . . .

Caro chose these . . .

And Joyce requested these . . .

I received a lovely “thank you” note from each lady.

That really made my heart smile! ๐Ÿ˜€

The next challenge will have an Autumn theme. (Details to follow in early September!)

Have a great week, Kids! ๐Ÿ™‚

Even a Prince Wants to Bead

During a recent tour of Tanzania, Prince Charles and Camilla visited Wonder Workshop, an organization that provides jobs for disabled men and women by encouraging them to create original art using recycled materials.

In the photo below, the Prince (aided by a staff member) tries to work with seed beads. He’s enthusiastic but finds it a challenge to thread the tiny beads without eyeglasses. Word is that Camilla kindly offered him her “specs”.

Sheโ€™s working on a necklace!

Wonder if they brought their finished pieces home . . .

additions to the Crown Jewels, perhaps? ๐Ÿ˜‰

A Short Break

Hi Kids! ๐Ÿ™‚
Hope you had a lovely weekend!

I’m going to take a short break from the blog.

(I’m talking days, not weeks.)

It’s all good . . . I just have things that I need to catch up on.

I’ll still be checking daily for comments (and will chime in myself if there are any!)

Kelly, if you want to keep telling us the days while I’m away – I’ll be sure they post.

Talk to all of you soon! ๐Ÿ˜€

Hugs,
