It’s The Thought That Counts

My oldest daughter is a journalist. While on assignment in South Africa last fall, she had an opportunity to do some Christmas shopping…

She came upon an outdoor artisans’ market where she found something bead-y for her mom. 😉

Here’s the lady who made my gift . . .

And this is what I opened on Christmas morning.

I’m absolutely thrilled with it… not just because I’m crazy about beads, and not just because I’m delighted to have something beautifully handmade from another country. To be sure, both of those reasons are true, but the most important reason I love it is that my girl thought of me when she saw it! 😀

  1. This is so true. My daughter shops the thrift stores and finds birds for me all the time. Your necklace really is a special gift.

    Much Love, Carol

Sorry (NOT) you got the snow and not us 🙂

  2. Great looking necklace and I loved that it was bought directly from the lady who created it. What a thoughtful gift. Did anyone else receive anything special?

This winter weather has been wrecking havoc on the school schedule this year. The kids have been in school 9 days since December 19th. Its crazy. Sunday it is supposed to be 50 and then on Monday we are going to be in the teens again. Stay warm everyone.

  3. Same weather here, Kelly!
We are in the midst of a couple of weeks of wind, snow, and temps that drop into the single digits!

I know making up those school days is no fun when the summer heat is knocking. Luckily the kids have a great teacher to distract them – you! 🙂

(I’m not sure what the others got for Christmas, but Carol has a new puppy named Bosco!)

    xoxo

  4. Wow, that’s a beautiful necklace! What a perfect gift your daughter picked for you. I love that she photographed the woman who created it, and her table full of other wonderful things she created. xoxo Paulette 🙂
