Remember me?

Happy Monday, Sweet Kids!

Thanks so much for all your warm and caring comments last week – you touched my heart. 🙂

Let’s get back to our regularly scheduled program.

Ok???? OK!!! 😉

I was wondering if I could ask you a favor?

I’m trying to plan future jewelry projects and I would really value your opinion on a few things….

Would you mind answering a mini survey right here in the comments?

1. What is your favorite color?

2. Are your ears pierced?

3. Are you a glitzy gal who likes bold jewelry, or a fan of delicate jewels, or somewhere in between?

4. How long are most of the earrings in your wardrobe? (Maybe you could grab a favorite pair and measure from the top of the earwire to the bottom of the dangle?) Of course if you only wear studs – no measurement necessary!

5. Do you prefer silver or gold metal? What do you think of the copper and the “antiqued”/hematite silver metals that are so popular right now?

See you tomorrow for Show and Tell Tuesday!

Hugs,

Remember me? — 14 Comments

  1. 1. My favorite color is brown but I wear black and navy a lot.

    2. yes, pierced but just one set of holes

    3. I like bold and also simple. Depends on what I am wearing and where I am going. Usually I wear the non-head-turners.

    4. Most are an inch to 1 1/2 drop.

    5. I use silver plated, gold plated and copper when making my jewelry. I have used sterling silver but do not like how it looks after a year. It takes too much maintenance. The cleaning, polishing, etc… when not stored in a dry closed place.

For my jewelry, silver sells over gold. I bought some of the hematite findings but found had to be careful not to mar them with the pliers.

    Hope this helps you.

  2. So glad you’re back!

    1. Fav color: Blues, aquas, teals but I need green and purple because I have way too many blues.
    2. Ears: pierced
    3. Inbetween. I have some bold statements and a few delicates. Current trend seems to be more bold jewelry but I can’t do over the top – like the ‘collar’ necklaces or Egyptian style.
    4. Fav length 1 1/2 – I prefer between 1 in and 2 in – won’t even look at them if they are over 2 in.
    5. I prefer silver but love the new antiqued silver.

  3. So so glad you are back. Tells us what had to be done to fix your computer.

The boys picked up a virus on Terry’s that would only allow the computer to go to porn sites, which our tech told us does not mean they were at them, its just creeps idea of a joke. These viruses lurk around where kids hang out. Anyway, the puter was reformatted and Terry can play his games and we are not hooking up to cyberland with it. I’ll keep it for photo shop etc. off line use.

Here is my answer to the survey

  5. Hi again! 🙂
Thank you for the “welcome back” greetings!

Thought I’d jump in and answer Carol and Donna’s questions…

I still do not have my computer back. I really thought it was going to be finished on Friday – I was on the phone with the tech person for over an hour, late in the day, as things were being reinstalled. It was looking pretty good. They had to reinstall windows but first were backing up everything I asked for. In addition, they are going above and beyond (so nice of them!) by doing some extras like adding a program or two, re-configuring all my email accounts, and installing more ram, so once it hit 6:30 p.m. on Friday – I couldn’t blame them for wanting to go home and let the weekend begin.

According to the tech, there’s a new breed of viruses out there at the moment. My computer virus came from a crochet pattern website! I was reading a blog that had a link for a pattern with adorable doll clothes to crochet. I clicked on the link and saw lots of cute patterns – some were free! As I scrolled further through the patterns, I seemed to be getting a weird “pop-up”. It was strange because on my computer, I have a pop-up blocker, and all kinds of antivirus, anti spyware, anti-adware, and a good firewall running – at all times. But, my instincts told me something was funny about this window that opened automatically. I knew enough not to click on any part of the window but I closed my browser immediately – thinking that was the safest thing to do. (I found out after from the tech person though – that the best thing (with the latest type of viruses out there) is to immediately shut down the computer – do NOT close Internet Explorer or Firefox first – just shut down! Then restart and do a system restore to yesterday.

It’s scary that with all the precautions I take that I could get hit. I am always very careful because I know that the hackers/virus makers will often put a virus in popular websites like “free clip art”, for example. I thought I was ok because I was going to a link that a crafter had placed on her blog! I do think it was a legitimate website but maybe it had been hacked?

The tech said Fri night that I should have it tonight. I hope so; I miss it. I have none of my own word documents, shortcuts, email, rss feeds, etc. on this one I am using now – and I don’t want to start making changes to another person’s computer just for my convenience!!

Now this has to be a record for a comment. LOL

    It’s more like a novella! 😉 xoxo

  6. Wow!! I love Chapter Posts!!

What a mess. Makes me think hard about some of the free stuff I download. I too have gotten weird pop-ups. Uncontrollable ones with a mind of their own and no way to shut them down BUT to shut off my computer totally. Knock on wood I don’t get that virus.

Well, hope the techs are correct and that you will be back with your beloved tomorrow.

    You were missed!!

  7. Welcome back Dear Girl!!!

I so missed you when you’re gone! Darn those nasty computer viruses and the people who invent such things.

Here are my answers to your questions…

    1. What is your favorite color? My favorite color is pink, although my favorite color to wear is black.

    2. Are your ears pierced? Yes, since I was 13, and thank goodness back then in the dark ages, they “froze your ears before they punched holes in them!…If I had to do it now, with no freezing, forget it babe, it would be clips for me! hee hee hee!

    3. Are you a glitzy gal who likes bold jewelry, or a fan of delicate jewels, or somewhere in between? I like delicate, but always sparkle.

    4. How long are most of the earrings in your wardrobe? (Maybe you could grab a favorite pair and measure from the top of the earwire to the bottom of the dangle?) Of course if you only wear studs – no measurement necessary! I wear my studs most of the time, or a pair of diamond cut, silver hoops that are 1 1/4 inches long. Both are neutral and no brainers when I’m in a rush! If I really want to look extra pretty, I almost always grab my teal, Crystal, lever back dangles!

    5. Do you prefer silver or gold metal? What do you think of the copper and the “antiqued”/hematite silver metals that are so popular right now? I prefer silver, and I love anything antiqued or old looking!

…I hope you’re enjoying your Monday, and you’re computer is all better now, and you do get it back tonight. (fingers are crossed!) Frank is out there raking up leaves for about the 5th time so far. It’s never ending…Don’t you just love the smell of fallen leaves…that sweet, earthy smell? I think I’ll go outside and inhale some autumn!

    xoxo’s Paulette

    2. My ears are pierced (1 hole)

    3. I like both delicate and somewhat bold jewelry. I can’t pull off anything really bold, but sometimes a little bit bold is nice.

    4. My earrings are probably about 1-2 inches, in general.

    5. I much prefer silver to gold. Hematite is okay. Copper makes me nervous, though, because I’m afraid the coating will wear off and turn my skin green!

    Hope this helps!
