August Greetings! 😀
Don’t worry! There’s still lots of time left for summer fun.
But…. Autumn is definitely on the way, so my August Giveaway has a fall-ish theme!
I’ve chosen some of my favorite beads for this design – they have sort of a subtle Autumn/Halloween flavor. Wouldn’t they be pretty to wear with a jacket done in earth tones?
The pumpkin-colored teardrop beads are Vintage Moonglow Lucite, and the very unique “candy corn” beads are Vintage Czech Glass (If you enjoy making jewelry, too, the candy corn beads are currently available in my bead shop).
The earrings measure a bold and beautiful 3″ in length – including the artisan-crafted earwires, which are sterling silver.

My answer: I love bright colors so I figured I would have something here on my computer desk, but nope! I finally spied my little red retractable tape measure on a shelf across the room! 🙂

This is such a funny question. I am sitting at my desk with plenty of red around ME~
All are an equil distance away so you get em all~
My coffee mug, cell phone, pen, tv remote, an AARP card that came in the mail that I am saving to use to spread glue, a medal that is from Terry’s army uniform, a binder, College Dictionary, the pillow case on the pillow I use to support my back on my computer chair, a red plaid flannel shirt draped over the back of my chair, my IPOD, a tube of acyril paint, my glass case, the carpet in this room, several tins on my desk.
I am surrounded by red~ as I turn and look around this room there is even MORE!! So how come I claim purple, aqua and coral to be my favorite colors? HUH? No clue? Me either. ~lol~

The closest red thing is a school photo of my daughter that is on the desk. She is wearing a red uniform shirt. (At her old school, they had to wear a red shirt on Thursdays; blue(lt. blue or navy) or white any other day. What were these people thinking? Don’t they know that you cannot wash red with anything else?!!)

I love the earrings, they are so pretty and classy. I’m working on fall fundraisers for my dog rescue group. So I’m ready for the cooler weather and fun.
My dogs red toys are the nearest red things to me. He takes them all out of the basket and scatters them all over the floor. There is a dog with a red hat, a red and green tug toy, two red white and blue rope toys and his red bandana that somehow fell off of him. I will be putting that back on him. There is also a red cedar beam above my head, but I’m not sure that really counts as red. Behind me there is a red stuffed twizzlers guy that sits on an antique sled. The sled has red runners.

I have a huge red Christmas ornament hanging from one of those hooks with legs. The surface is filled with signatures and best wishes in gold ink. From people I worked with over the years. I received it at my retirement party four years ago this coming November. Each signature brings back memories of time spent with each one. I never put it away. I like to look at it.
