Summer’s Flying . . .

Greetings, Sweet Kids.
Here we are in the last week of July – already!

You’ve probably noticed that the Fall decorations are available in the stores now. How can that be?

There’s still swimming to be done. ๐Ÿ˜‰

In the words of Goldilocks,

I hope your weekend was ….

just right!”

Here at our place, we had a nice blend of busy and calm. One night, we went into the city to see our daughter’s band play at a local pub. She’s the drummer for the group, but she also sings. We love to hear them play and we’re glad she’s not embarrassed to have “the parental units” in attendance. ๐Ÿ˜‰

On Saturday, we visited my Mum & Dad. They’re still settling into their new place, and it’s really looking more and more like a home every time we see it. Sir Beads is a wiz at hanging drapery rods so he took care of that while we were there. They treated us to a delicious dinner to cap off the visit.

Sunday was a quiet day, which we actually enjoy. There’s nothing like a day with no plans to help you re-energise for another busy week! ๐Ÿ™‚

Just a reminder that the GIVEAWAY for July (click here to see it) ends soon (7/30) and all comments for this month count as entries.

Today’s question is:

~ How many hours of sleep per night do you need to function?

and

~ Are you a morning person or a night owl?

Summer’s Flying . . . — 10 Comments

  1. I’m a night owl and I usually get by on about 6 hrs, but sometimes I sleep in.

We went to a friend’s house on Saturday night to play dominos, wii and eat. On Sunday it was church and then we went for a ride. Hubs bbq’ed for dinner. Nice weekend.

Glad you had a nice one too.

  2. Most of my years I have been a morning person.
Up early in the morning with a smile on my face
as my feet hit the floor.
Lately, Oh! for the last 10 years or so, I have worked
evening and night shifts. I stay up late and get up late.
I find that my energy level is not as high as it used to be.
It takes longer to wake up and get moving. I usually get
between 6 and 8 hours sleep a night.

I’m glad you had a great weekend.

    I enjoyed working this weekend.
It would have been even better if it wasn’t so hot.
    I like sweater wearing weather.

  3. How can fall decor be in shops already??? Have you forgotten how early you have to get ready when you make fall crafts to sell?? I have to remind my husband of that EVERY time we go to hobby lobby. I am lucky to have that store near me. He loves it and I can always head to the beads/art/needlework or sewing aisles while he wanders around for something to catch his eye. When he finds something I always say, sure go ahead buy it. I spend more than that on beads…nice set up huh.

Oh, yeah the question. Well, I am a night owl that gets up early. I never did require much sleep. Now that I am older..I guess I need about 4 or 5. Most of my life I have required about 3. But that would catch up to me about once a month and I would sleep til 9 on a Sunday. Man that makes me mad. Puts my whole day out of routine!!

My normal sleeping hours are 12 or 1 to 5.

    Have a great day, Crissie. One more week then I am on V A C A T I O N

YAY!! or I should say Stay-Day-Trip-Cation.

  4. Good morning. your week end sounded like a great one. My daughter, Mother-in-law and I went to a psychic fair – what fun. No wealth predicted – darn!

I function on about 5 hours or less of sleep. I go to bed late – 1 or 2 am and rise around 7 to 8!
I prefer mornings! I wake up singing and bouncing around. In evenings I prefer to veg. I want to sit quietly – read books, or play around on the computer, or watch TV.

  5. I am a morning person but my husband and daughter are night owls!! I hope that my new baby will be on my schedule!

I can get by on 5-6 hours of sleep, I am a terrible insomiac; I can usually fall asleep but only stay asleep about 2 hours, then toss & turn until about 4am, then sleep for another few hours. It has been worse since I have been pregnant, I do not see any good, full nights of sleep in my future anytime soon!

I cannnot believe this summer has flown by! My daughter starts middle school (unbelieveable!) in 2 weeks. It is so miserably hot here, it is hard to think about school starting. The heat index was 114 yesterday!! YUCK!

  6. I am definitely a night owl. I think I am energized by the calm the darkness brings. I will look out into the night and see a few lights still on here and there and think we are all Friends of the Night. Working away. Reading, watching a favorite late night TV show. Or as in my case, crafting.

My sleeping clock goes off at the 4 hour mark. Sometimes 3, sometimes 5. Never any longer. It seems the older I get, the less “night time” sleep do I need. I have to tell you though, I will take a nap during the day. Being retired, I can do that whenever my eyes start to need toothpicks.

  7. With my kids grown and gone I find I am much more a night person than morning person. I love to stay up until the we hours of the morning then sleep through the morning time till noon. Such is retirement. I really don’t need as much sleep time as I once thought I did–6 hours and I’m good to go.

  8. Hi Sweetie! Your weekend sounded so nice…fun stuff and some relaxing time. That’s as good as it gets!

I’d have to say I’m a bit of both, and for the same reason. The house it quiet late at night, and very early in the morning, before I start running around. Nights are a bit better though, because I can really relax then, and enjoy “me time”… that is, if I don’t fall asleep first!

    xoxo
    Paulette

  9. I need at least 8 hours – more is preferable ๐Ÿ™‚ I just love being in bed I guess. That being said, I suppose I’m a night person, although I’m not a big fan of early mornings OR late nights!
