What’s in YOUR Purse

Do you remember this old game show?

“Let’s Make A Deal” was a daytime TV staple. I’ve heard that it’s back now, but I haven’t seen it since those early days.

It really was fun though – bursting with energy and excitement. The host would go into the studio audience and offer money to anyone who could instantly produce an unlikely item, such as a roll of quarters or a can opener. Giddy women with large purses, chock full of stuff, would feverishly rummage through their bags and, more often than not, one of them would triumphantly wave the item in the air.

I used to carry a purse like that – but no more.

Now I’ve switched to a small pocketbook that fits the necessities and NOTHING else. My shoulders have thanked me. πŸ˜‰

I dumped it out and here are the contents . . .

At first, I thought I’d miss the “knapsack” I used to lug around, but I must say that I really do not! I still have some larger purses in the closet that could be pressed into service for a long trip, but for everyday – a small bag rules!

phonecharmJust thought I’d show a close-up picture of my little cell phone charm. It’s a “lucky cat”, made by etsy artist, kayo2007

What’s in your purse?

Is there a can opener by any chance? πŸ˜‰

‘Til next time,

What’s in YOUR Purse — 11 Comments

  1. My purse is scary. A wallet which contains almost everything I need to run my life. A small flashlight, too many keys, pens, pencils, eraser, coupon holder, calculator for class, cell phone, and I’m to afraid to go look in the bottom.

  2. Well, I like a bigger purse. And I like lots of zippered pockets on the outside. That way I can stick all kinds of stuff in them that I forget I put there when I need it. ~lol~ I don’t like lots of loose stuff on the inside so I put it in the pockets on the OUTside.

I keep a coin purse with outside zipper pockets (no wallet), a hair pic, and a small cosmetic bag with no cosmetics in it. Thats where I keep the essentials. . nail file, pills for any malay that can happen like headache, gas, acid, a few extra sanity meds in case I forget to take before I leave the house, lipstick, folding scissors, toothpicks…you know stuff like that. I don’t keep much change in it because it makes it too heavy.

My purse is kinda big just in case I need to put something big in it. Its kind of a hobo type. I use them till they drop or until I find something similar that I might like. Just the right purse is hard to come by.

    Great post, Crystal.

    Have a great day,
    xx, Carol

  3. Hi Sweetie!

I’m still lugging around everything but the kitchen sink…I haven’t really checked, but maybe that’s in there too! I think you’ve inspired me to look for a smaller spring bag this year. I’m getting so tired of not being able to find anything without shuffling through my mess of who knows what! I love your little charm, and your girly pen too! I miss those seventies shows!

    Have a great day!

  4. My purse? Let’s see…

    Debit and credit cards
    Store discount cards
    Way, way too many keys
    Cell phone
    Driver’s license and insurance cards
    Pen
    Shopping List
    Small knitting project (sometimes)
    Mints
    Emergency Migraine Meds
Extra car key (in case I lock mine in the car, which has happened!)

Yes, I have WAY too much stuff in my purse, but I NEED it all, I’m sure of it!

  5. I try to keep it light and organised ,purse ,tin with band aids, aspirin etc, measuring tape, pens, cell phone, kleenex πŸ™‚

  6. My purse? Medications, earplugs, and eyepatch, a notebook, a sketchbook, some soap samples for unequipped public restrooms, female necessities (ahem), a needle and some thread, in black, white, and green, nuts for emergency snackening, sungoggles, aaaaand wallet.

Note the lack of cell phone. Weird. I should look into one of those, I hear they’re useful.

  7. A lot πŸ˜› I always have a bottle of water with me, an umbrella, my phone, my keys, gum, a mirror, pens and paper, ear plugs, wallet, aspirin, tissues, lip balm, a lost college book and then just lots of wrappers and old homework and stuff πŸ˜›

  8. What isn’t in my purse is more the question for me?! No can opener,
but lots of other “uncanny” things……Thanks, Cindi

  9. Oh to delve into my handbag! It is starting to fall apart and I am holding out to get one in the USA when I come for a trip, so scary but lots of scraps of paper, mostly shopping lists, purse, loose coins, tissues, bags, discount vouchers for various places (you never know when you need one) and mobile.
You bag is so neat! Jealous!!!
