October Giveaway

Welcome, welcome!

I hope everyone had a delightful weekend.

Why are weekend days the fastest days of the week? We are simply baffled about that here at Bead Happily Ever After. One minute it’s Friday night, and an hour or two later – it’s Monday morning! How can that be?!?!

giftwrapTo help take the sting out of the beginning of a new workweek, I do have a new giveaway! 😀

If you’ve just landed here for the first time, I hope you’ll decide to visit often. We have lots of fun discussing everything! There’s a great group of “regulars” but don’t let that scare you away! They were all “new” at one time. We’d love for you to join us. 🙂

You’ll never miss any of the action if you subscribe to the blog. There are buttons in the sidebar to help you. Choose either the RSS feed (orange button), or use the “subscribe by email” box. If you have any questions about the process, click here to let me know. I’m happy to assist!

Now on to the giveaway!

October’s giveaway is this very chic pair of earrings! They’re a rich velvety “hematite” shade of grey, with sparkling silver accents.

I‘ve used some very special vintage Japanese faux pearls in a baroque shape. They’re medium charcoal grey with a gorgeous luster.

The faux pearls are accented with Czech Preciosa “Vitrail” faceted rounds. These Czech beads have a mirrored silvery surface and one side is covered with the lovely Vitrail (rainbow) finish. So elegant – like a tiny disco ball!

Made with only high quality components. All findings are Sterling Silver, including the artisan-crafted earwires.

Contest Rules and How To Enter

Any day you leave a comment on this blog – it is counted as a chance to enter the current giveaway.

For example, if you answer today’s question (you’ll find it below!) that will give you one chance.

But if you then come back tomorrow and comment on tomorrow’s post too – you will have earned another chance – so you’ll have 2 chances!

Return another day, comment, and you add a third chance, and so on.

When you comment, you do not have to mention that it’s an entry in the giveaway. My blog program shows me all of the “comments” as they come in – so I do not miss any of them, and all will count to be entered into the drawing! 😀

Today’s question is:

Do you fold laundry carefully or do you have a more casual approach?

The Boring Stuff . . .
You must be 18 yrs. old. After the completion of the contest, the name of the winner will be listed here. The winner will also be notified by email. October Giveaway — 66 Comments

  1. I have them folded at first, and then…well, mornings happen. My clothes rarely manage to stay folded throughout the week. Which is what hangers are for!…My clothes don’t get to stay on hangers very long, either.

    (and those earrings are amazing!)

  2. Only a few things need folding.

Towels, sheets, dish towels, hubby’s boxers and undershirts. Clothing is placed on hangers and put in closets. Or tossed in the appropriate drawer. I spend about 30 minutes folding stuff on each wash day.

    Beautiful earrings. Love the colors.

  3. Beautiful earrings!! Perfection. I love the way you match components. You have a real talent.

OK, you know me. Everything has to be just so. I MUST remove laundry from the dryer the minute it stops to avoid wrinkles. If I miss the buzzer, I throw a damp cloth in and give it a few minutes to get rid of them.

I fold everything precisely so it fits in the drawer properly. All folds on the towels have to be to the left.

I’m nuts. My uncle, who owned a resteraunt was that way. One summer I had to stay with them while my mom recouperated from surgery. I worked while I was there and everything in the resteraunt kitchen and dining room had to be just so and, unfortunately for me sometimes, it has stuck with me. I will say that when the boys help and don’t get it right, I don’t make them redo and I FORCE myself to be quiet and let it go. I don’t want to subject them to my OCD mania.

  4. Beautiful earrings, Crystal!! (As always!)

Laundry is carefully folded in my house, of course by me! The problem is not in the folding, it is in the putting away! I fold into separate piles for each family member; most of the time these piles are skyscraper high by the time that they are put away. (Even my pile, I think it has something to do with having to carry it all upstairs)

I have been busy doing baby laundry, I had forgotten how tiny the socks are! My baby boy is scheduled to arrive on Friday (if not before!) 🙂

  5. The earrings are breathlessly beautiful!

I fold and/or hang immediately. And I fold neatly – why fold if it’s not neat!

  6. Happy October (Breast Cancer Awareness Month and Adopt a Pet Month!)

Thats sad that I didn’t realize til you pointed it out now that you have a way to subscribe via email, so much easier then bookmarking your website, I can’t believe I didn’t figure that out on my own LOL!

I only fold my pants and bulky sweaters, shirts/dresses go on hangers, and other clothes go in drawers.

  7. Folding laundry? Yeah, uh, about that- if it needs to be wrinkle-free, it gets hung up. Otherwise, it gets shoved in its appropriate drawer. Really, does it matter if my pajamas and underwear look perfectly ironed?

  8. Honest truth? Well,I just bunch clothes up and stuff them into a drawer or toss them on a hanger. It doesn’t mean I am a bad person, just not the most organized.Oh,I feel bad now!
    Lovely earrings

  9. Folded defiantly …straight out of the dryer. Why?because i hate ironing more than i hate folding lol.

    Lovely earrings…as always!!

  10. I hang up shirts and pants. Jeans are folded and so are towels. Socks are thrown into a drawer, no matching necessary since we only were Hanes except the good socks. Good socks are all the same color and have their own drawer. I wear men’s black nylon socks if I need black socks, otherwise I wear knee-hi’s or hose.

Amazingly beautiful earrings as always and perfect for the dressy sweaters that everyone is wearing.

This week we celebrate World Animal Day on the 4th and World Teacher’s Day on the 5th and on the 8th it is Lee’s National Denim Day.

Today is also National Taco Day

October 5 – National Apple Betty Day

October 8 – National Fluffernutter Day and National Pierogy Day.

    Happy Holidays everyone!

  11. I hang all of my clothes! Except my underwear…which I used to fold, but I’ve relaxed more since then. ha!

  12. I fold neatly, usually. But sometimes I throw all the stuff still warm from the dryer onto the sofa and let my cat go hide in the pile. She loves to do that….
    Beautiful earrings!

  13. I sort when I fold and each person has there own pile. I hang shirts, blouses , sweaters and good jeans up and put the rest in drawers. I’m also a “Right Out Of The Dryer Girl”. There’s no other way!
Very pretty artsy earrings. The stones match perfectly and the ear wires are SWEET!!!

  14. Great comments, Kids!!! 🙂

I love reading all of the points of view on this topic!

And how do I feel about folding clothes? 😉

Well, I try to hang as many things as possible in the closet – even short-sleeved cotton tops. I fold everything else. It can be boring but I usually put on some music or the TV and I’m done in no time. xo

  15. I love these earrings Crystal…like usual! These are great because they go with anything, and they’re the kind you can just grab while you’re running out the door with a million things on your mind and don’t have time to match!

I fold or hang our clothes while they’re hot from the dryer, this way there’s less ironing involved. If for some reason I can’t get to them right away and they sit in the dryer for a while, I just wet a little towel, throw it into the dryer for a few minutes to get all the wrinkles out of the clothes.

    xoxo Paulette

  16. lol! Maybe part of the question should be, ‘do you even fold your laundry?’ I do not fold my laundry carefully. I have no method to the madness. Some people fold their clothes right after washing them – I never do. I fold the linens, towels, and jeans before anything else. I usually hang my dresses in a closet. I am NOT a laundry person and don’t even ask about ironing…me and the iron don’t get along either.

  17. I am super cautious with folding my towels. Everything else is kind of slung around knowing most of it will immediately go on to a hanger.

  18. I fold laundry very carefully. I got that from mama! She has a way of erasing the creases even without ironing them.

  19. I take it out of the machine as soon as it’s done and I fold it carefully, so I don’t have to iron it 😀

  20. I love the earrings, beautiful.

I am a very careful laundry folder, when I get around to doing it. I have 9.5 month old twins that keep me busy but when I finally fold our baskets and baskets of laundry, I spend a lot of time doing it- I get that from my mom!

  21. WHEN I fold my laundry, I fold it carefully. I have a particular way I fold things and if they are not done just so I have to redo them.

  22. Casual, definitely. I’m too lazy to do it properly:D Well, my folding is ok, but ironing is the real problem for me:)

  23. Lovely earrings! I wouldn’t say I’m exactly careful about folding my laundry, but I do have a system. Did you know my husband never used to pair his socks when he put them away? He always just threw them in the drawer and would go searching for a matching pair in the morning? I’m amazed he didn’t show up with mismatched socks every day. I’ve changed his life for the better in that aspect at least 🙂

  24. Yes, i fold my laundry. But I probably would not do that if could do whatever I want!

  25. They have to be folded, otherwise you are just going to get loads of creases in them which makes ironing them 10 times harder – why make an already long and boring job even harder! Once ironed they all get folded neatly like they do in the shops!

  26. I love doing laundry – weird, I know. I’m a careful folder! And I will only fold if the clothes are fresh out of the dryer – if the clothes have sat in the dryer for a while, I turn it back on for 10 min. to “refluff” them.
    (Beautiful earrings!)

  27. Depends on my mood. If it’s a rainy day & I’m in my domestic goddess zone then things get hung/folded/ironed. If the sun is shining & the only reason I’ve done laundry is because of my procrastination disease then everything gets a quick fold (maybe).

  28. I fold it as quickly as possible. My husband is far more particular and careful. I just want it out of sight!

  29. I try to, as much as possible. If my closet is clean and neat, I feel so much better.

  30. I fold things very carefully, but I don’t fold them right away. So they end up being somewhat wrinkly anyway. Good thing I work in academia!

  31. I would like to fold more carefully, but with 5 of us, laundry is neverending at our house. So I just do my best!

  32. I fold everything when I do the washing–and since I made the mistake of trying to get my husband to fold my shirts a certain way when we were first married, I fold all my stuff when HE does the washing, too!

Thanks for the chance to win!

    –Liza

  33. I just throw it in the drawers… we can live with wrinkles for a while till the kids are bigger! I want to enjoy these days when they are little!

  34. Hi! The only thing I fold carefully is towels, sheets, washclothes and jeans. Everything else gets either hanged up or a more casual approach of being put away. 🙂 Beautiful earrings! Thank you for doing another giveaway.

  35. I fold right after the dryer stops. I hang all shirts, pants, skirts in the laundry room so I have less to do once I get upstairs to put everything away. I fold the rest of the clothes and try to separate the kids clothes into one basket and my things and my husband’s in another. The baskets usually sit in the laundry room for several days until my husband is tired of stepping over them as he comes in the door and he carries them all upstairs. Sometimes he puts them away and sometimes they end up sitting at the top of the stairs for a few more days. Can you tell I am not a fan of putting the laundry away? I don’t mind the washing and drying. I love the smell of fresh laundry right out of the dryer. It is just getting the clothes from the laundry room into the right places that I struggle with!
    Beautiful earrings!

  36. I fold most things carefully but hang long pants and shirts as soon as the dryer finishes.

  37. I fold like a crazy person. I never take care of folding because if it is folded then it doesnt matter because they are mostly things I dont wear out

  38. My hubby helps me fold laundry. He takes one end and I take the other. When we meet in the middle we kiss. I love doing laundry! 😀

  39. I fold my kids’ clothes carefully, but I never have time to fold my own. Most of it gets hung up.

  40. If it needs to be folded careful, it gets hung! I’m pretty sloppy with my folding job. 🙂

  41. I am definitely a casual folder! And it also happens to be my very least favorite of all chores!

  42. Ok, I am one of those OCD people. I fold my laundry as I take it out the dryer and then all the laundry that is to be hung in the closet, I unfold and hang by season. I even fold towels and wash clothes a special way. Everything has a place and in in a neat order.
