Snowbound

Around here, itโ€™s been a while since we had a weekday snowstorm large enough that even Sir Beads had a โ€œsnow dayโ€ from work!

Itโ€™s a winter wonderland out there. ๐Ÿ™‚

What a gift it is to have a day with no formal schedule besides jumping up every so often to peek out the window and watch Mother Nature frost the trees with fluffy icing.

During the afternoon, there was time for a little crafting along with the snow shoveling. Suddenly, I had the idea to look for “old” snow photos and I found a couple to show you…

Here I am with my oldest daughter in 1978. At that very moment, I was 9 months pregnant with her younger sister!

And here in the mid-1980’s is that aforementioned younger sister, whose motto has always been: If life gives you snow โ€“ make a snowman! (In this case, a “snow dino”!) ๐Ÿ˜‰

Itโ€™s going to be Laziti here for supper, tonight.

Nothing like the warmth of pasta on a snowy evening!

Snuggle up!

Hugs,

  1. It looks just like that at my house. There is snow everywhere except on the main roads which have been cleared. Today high was 19 so the snow is not going anywhere soon. I get out and play with the dogs, but I don’t stay out long, its just too cold. Alaskan Malamutes are much better suited to the cold than I am, but since my guys are house dogs I will not let them stay out too long.
On days like this, I have been working on getting some closets and drawers organized.
I also curl up with a quilt and read or play online. Thank goodness for hot chocolate.

    Crystal says: Hi Kelly!
Loved reading this comment! I can just picture the scene there with your dogs playing in the snow. You’re so smart to get caught up on organizing when it’s too cold to spend much time outside. When you’re finished, we’ll all be jealous to hear that your closets are neat as a pin! ๐Ÿ˜€

  2. Yesterday was low key except for hubby, who shoveled. I have a bad back or I would have been out there too.
Today I’m having a broken tooth pulled. It’s so bad I will be anesthesized. I have bags of frozen peas ready to put on the face!

Crystal says: Oh my gosh, Clenna! You poor kid!!! I hope everything goes very well. I’ll be thinking of you!!!! xoxo

  3. I’m not speaking the S*** word anymore this season.

I (sorry Earth) am using paper plates when I can to free up kitchen duty time for more productive “ME” time. (Yes, Mother Earth, I AM saving water and energy!)

And rather than dwelling on the stinking S***, I am thinking about all the heros in this world, both past and present, and am grateful that they found their power in the moment they were needed.

And I’m thinking, wow Crissie, you are a very pretty lady!!

Find the food for your soul today!!

    Crystal says: Hey Carol!

You don’t have to say s*#w if you don’t want to!! ๐Ÿ˜‰ And so good to hear you are getting some “ME” time. You deserve it!!!!

  4. I LOVE your walk down snow lane. Your girls sure were cuties.

This winter has been one of the worst for a lot of areas. I read on Yahoo that 49 states got snow. All but Florida. My friend in Georgia stayed up until 3am one night watching the sleet. And a friend in Texas got clobbered with snow. She spent one whole day on the sofa watching it fall. Her dogs played and played in it and didn’t want to come in.

Hope Sir Beads enjoyed his Snow Day. Did his Off day turn into an On day? As in, Honey Do Day. ๐Ÿ˜€

OH. BTW. I finished my quilted star. Please pop over to take a look.

    Crystal says: Hi Donna!
I was wondering if it you had lots of snow too! My Mom and Dad are in FL and they are COLD this year. Everyone is wearing hats and gloves! Sir Beads shoveled snow but otherwise had a nice break – even from the honey-do list! ๐Ÿ˜‰

  5. Snow, glorious snow!!! Oh my heart is so happy these days!!! I’m constantly at the window admiring the best Mother Nature has to offer! … and you dear one, look like a beautiful snow princess standing there with that darling little girl! You looked amazing at 9 months pregnant!!! I was such a cow by that time, it wasn’t funny. Your girls are so adorable…and that snow dino is amazing! … and, I say YUMMO to your “laziti”!
Have a beautiful snow filled day today! I think I’m going out for a little bit to soak it all in! xoxo Paulette ๐Ÿ˜€

Crystal says: Hi Paulette! You are so right – “Snow, glorious snow!!!” I love how it hides the dull brown landscape and how it glistens in the sun!

We’re sorry everyone doesn’t love it as much as we do…. but I know they will be understanding when you and I are lamenting the HOT, MUGGY summer!!! I guess we all have our favorite seasons. ๐Ÿ˜€

  6. Tooth extraction went well. On pain and anti biotics for a couple of days and then will be back to normal.

Crystal says: Clenna you must be psychic!!!! I was just opening my email to write to you. I was worried about ya! I’m so glad it went well and that it’s behind you now. Spoil yourself for a few days, ok? Lots of hugs!!! ๐Ÿ˜€
