Welcome to the weekly giveaway! Before I announce the details, I just want to say that there were some amazing answers to last week’s question! I’d sure love to be invited to those dinner parties that many of you planned! Thanks everyone for playing along and for sending in such interesting guest lists!
This week’s giveaway is an adorable beaded bookmark called “Veggie Garden”. Use it to mark your place in that book you’re reading! Whether it’s a novel at your bedside table or an art book in the living room, this pretty bookmark will add a whimsical touch to your home.
It’s made with wonderful artisan-crafted lampwork glass beads that are shaped like little vegetables! There’s a tomato, broccoli, cauliflower, and a yellow pepper! The part that you place inside your book is made with tiny glass seed beads in light emerald green aurora borealis. Swarovski crystals in red siam, and light and medium shades of emerald green serve as sparkling accents! All findings are sterling silver.
Measurements: The overall length (including the veggie beads) is 17″, but the part that is meant to be placed inside a book is about 13″. It should fit many of your books – except for those that are the very large coffee table size.

Very pretty. How long is it? In the picture it looks long enough for a necklace.
My grandson Ky would be that picture. He is the most caring compassionate person I know. He really is. There are probably plenty of others, but he gives from his heart and would not knowingly offend anyone. He is a very special person. Even as hard as I work at letting him know how special he is, he probably doesn’t have a clue. He is 11.
Nope, don’t like a big deal. Has nothing to do with my age, either. When I was little, I wanted all that celebration and didn’t have it. That’s probably why it doesn’t mean much to me now.
Hi Crystal!!!!!!
I usually love quiet celebrations… am I a little strange perhaps???
kisses!
Wonderful bookmark! At first I thought it was a beautiful necklace!
Above the word “kindness” I put a photo with all the bloggers I know (you, for example) and make kind comments on my blog or my mailing! Yes! I think there is a lot of kindness in this virtual world!
And I don’t want influence the random generator…hahhahahhaha!
Kindness: I see my husband, who is a good, generous, supportive, helpful man.
Birthday: With friends, it’s OK to make a big deal, but NOT with a large group of co-workers – I get embarrassed to be the spotlight, I’m kind of shy.
Kindness-the random strangers who helped me when I lost my cat and wandered the neighborhood aimlessly crying. They stopped, prayed with me, hugged me and gave me hope. My friends who were there to listen. My vet who made a donation to a animal rescue and my husband who just let me cry.
Oh my gosh…my husband AND my son would be in the dictionary. I am so fiery and hot tempered and emotional and they are the complete opposite…so loving and desiring to help others in any way they can. They are amazing.
I LOVE a big deal birthday party…one of the few days that are about just “me”!
kindness – well, it would have to be my husband. We’ve been together 30 years now, through thick and thin, sickness and health – you name it. He’s never failed to support me, even when I’ve been completely unreasonable. Kindness personified 😉
birthdays – hate ’em. don’t like being the centre of attention, not even nice attention! They’re so low key in my life that I actually managed to be 40 twice (of all the birthdays to repeat!) I was about 6 months through my “first” year of being 40 when I said someting about not liking the age…my husband (kindly LOL) had to gently point out that actually, I was still only 39…
It would be my mother. She is always thinking of others. She is the most kind person I know.
I like a big deal with lots of presents!
Very nice I have a ton of books to read…… This would be helpful for my next read…
kindness- my eldest son- he will go out and do things for people without wanting pay like mowing the lawn for a senior citizen because its hot outside and he knows they cannot afford- or son will refill my tank if he knows I am going out early in the am for work
nope i like a cake and quiet..don’t like to celebrate it because I used to here- another year sooner to moving out and it wasn’t nice- it was out of serious meaness
I’d have to say it’d be my neighbor. His spirit is generous and thoughtful.
My grandmother b/c she was always there for me.
Thanks for the giveaway!
Kindness – is defined by my daughter. She is the epitome of kind thoughtful caring children!
I prefer quiet birthday celebrations with family. Not much for gifts…
It would be my best friend of 20 years because they are considerate and very kind to me.
I like a quiet celebration with my family.
I would have to say my husband. He is always willing to help out a friend, he’s even tempered and thoughtful.
I like either. I’m flexible. If people want to make a big deal of my birthday and give me gifts that’s fine. A quiet celebration with my family can be fun, too as long as there is cake 🙂
It would have to be my husband that is listed there. He is always so thoughtful. He’s always helping out and doing things for others. (He’s already jumped in and helped out, before it dawns on the rest of us to offer to help). What a blessing he is.
Kindness is what my son is all about. He is mentally disabled with a spirit that is so pure and giving. You can tell I’m very proud!
I would like my family to throw a big bash for my birthday but they don’t think of this on their own so it’ll be another quiet celebration this year.
My grandmother’s pic would be next to the word kindness. She lived to 98, and I never heard her say anything bad about anyone, even when they deserved it, and she could make a stranger feel like family in 5 seconds flat.
I like a quiet, family celebration
I think it would be my grandmother. She was very kind and loving, and the mother of twelve children. And when she was 85 years of age, she still would have had another child if she could.
My grandmother would definitely be pictured next to “kindness.” She is always looking on the bright side of things, always has a nice thing to say, and just has a calm and positive glow about her.
As for my birthday celebration, I always hope for a big deal, but it usually turns out to be a quiet celebration! Ultimately, it’s all about the people I’m with, but I hope to be surprised one of these years. :o)
That’s sooo cute! I think I’d have to say Jeanette from church is the definition of kindness. She’s always friendly and positive, and more than willing to help anyone who needs it. I never hear her complain about anything, or anyone.
I prefer not to have people make a big deal out of my birthday.
That is the cutest bookmark I’ve ever seen!:-)
Ok -kindness… my grandfather’s picture would be there. He was an incredibly generous person who gave food and clothing to poor people in the WV mountains. He even gave his time and money to help out a local church. He was amazing.
I hate being the center of attention for any reason -good or bad, so I definitely don’t like a big deal made out of my birthday.
Great questions again! I would say my mom. I could write all day about how kind she is. She always trys to find the good in people. She brought us to church every sunday. We did n’t have much growing up but I never heard her complain. Raising 6 kids by herself was a hard job. She is kind to everyone! May 5- she will be 88 yrs old. She is my rock, friend, my inspiration and my mom. thanks
I prefer a quiet celebration. But…. I like to make a big deal if its someone else’s birthday! Thanks
I commented on “too cute to throw away.”
It would be my daughter Sarah because that is the word most people I know use when trying to describe who she is as a person.
it would be my mom! she is amazing!
i love celebrating my birthday with lots of people! =)
my golden retriever who’s had some recent health problems.
she is the light of my life who gives love and kindness unconditionally.

If I looked up kindness I’d find a picture of my grandmother — she’s wonderful!
I prefer a quiet celebration for my birthday — I like parties but not big noisy ones 🙂
My husband. He’s always gone the extra mile for me. But recently he’s gone above and beyond what he normally does as I’ve been trying to take care of our little baby and take care of myself as I deal with a little PPD. He’s so giving.
