The temperatures have been soaring and the humidity won’t quit.
Instead of letting the weather make me grumpy, I decided to think of things that make me happy! 😀
So Kids, today’s edition of Lucky Seven (and it’s been a while since we’ve had one!) will feature:
1.) Laughing out loud with Sir Beads
He has a delightful sense of humor and has kept me giggling for over 40 years now.
2.) Finishing the laundry
It doesn’t last very long but oh how I love to see an empty laundry basket!
3.) A new pen
It’s the kid in me, I guess. I just got a multicolored set of ultra fine gel pens (including purple and turquoise!) They are so much FUN to use.
4.) A nice bar of soap
In the last year or so, I’ve come to the conclusion that I want to use a really nice bar of bath soap – not the standard supermarket fare. Right now, it’s Caswell-Massey’s, “Freesia” – so rich and fragrant. I love how it makes my skin feel and I’ve decided I’m worth it! 😉
5.) Something to make
I get so much joy from working on a new project. Whether it’s beading, crochet, sewing, or paper crafts, I’m a happy camper when I’m blissfully working on something pretty.
6.) Finding a great deal!
When I buy something that’s on sale, the thrill is magnified if it rings up with an additional percentage off at the check-out! Now, that’s a smile-maker. 😀
7.) Settling in a comfy chair and cracking open a brand new book (or magazine)
Relaxing, inspiring, and fun – all in one package!

1) Riding my Harley with my hubs and friends makes me smile, especially if we are doing a charity ride.
2) My dogs make me smile
3) Getting a letter telling me I have been accepted into the National Honor Society at college made me smile today.
4) Getting good grades.
5) I love my new job working at the college bookstore
6) Getting a winning email notice that I won a contest makes me smile.
I’m not a fan of rainy days, but with the heat and humidity along with the drought, I now smile at rainy days.

#1 air conditioning!
#2 ice cream cones with colored sprinkles.
#3 rainbows!
#4 farm stands
#5 fireflies
#6 the nighttime sound of crickets at the end of August…still waiting for those little buggers, and they can’t come too soon!
#7 my family and critters, always. 😀
and I have to add one more, baseball!

How could I not have air conditioning on my list?!?!?
Maybe it was the heat that addled my brain? 😉
What makes me smile, you ask? Hmmm, so many…. here are the ones that come to mind.
1. Hubby filling up my gas tank “just because”.
2. Being able to zip up and still wear pants from years ago.
3. Young people holding doors open for me and calling me madam.
4. Seeing my favorite TV shows posted on-line.
5. Looking at old photos of family and pet.
6. Opening e-mail and seeing a sale on Etsy.
7. My sewing and quilting projects bring me joy and make me smile.

Okay…I’m super late on my comment. Darn health anyway!
It’s been super hot here in the northwest too and I’ve made very good friends with my air conditioner. lol
Here’s my 7.
#1. the two men in my life….my hubby & my son.
#2. all six of my cats. they are so fun and cheap entertainment too. lol!
#3. getting a personal letter in the mail, especially from my sister or getting a suprize email from a goodl friend. (I owe you an email my friend) 😉
#4. the mailman delivering a bubble envelope or a box with bead supplies inside…and then maybe getting lil extra surprizes too.
#5. making jewelry for sure.
#6 having a pain free day….rarely happens, but when it does, I smile more. 😀
#7 going yard selling with my hubby and finding those unexpected treasures.
