Happy Monday, Kids π
How was the weekend?
On Saturday, I finally used a gift card I’d almost forgotten about . . .
While Christmas shopping in December, I was at the check-out to pay when the clerk told me I had spent enough to qualify for a $20.00 gift card. I was totally surprised because first of all, I didn’t realize that they were having such a promotion, and secondly, I didn’t think I had spent enough to receive twenty dollars!
I’m ever the skeptic, so as she handed me the card I said: “Oh, I am guessing that I’ll have to spend a certain amount to be able to use this $20.00? Or perhaps it expires quite soon?”
“No, no, it’s as good as cash here at this store.” she answered.
So, this weekend I discovered the card tucked among a few sales receipts in my wallet, and decided I’d better spend it while I was thinking of it.
New towels seemed like a good idea as ours were beginning to look shabby. When I got to the mall, they happened to be on sale for half-price! π
I can’t tell you how much fun it was to leave that store with a fairly large bag of pretty new towels – for FREE!
As I carried them to the car, it definitely felt like Christmas. In fact, I swear I heard Christmas Carols! π
Hugs,
How fun you got to celebrate Christmas again in March. Don’t you just love the feel of new towels?! My Father-in-Law got us the largest and softest towels for Christmas and I just love em’. Kouga and I had a blast at the Mardi Paw event. It was cool, but sunny day and everyone was dressed up including the dogs. On Saturday, I had a meeting with my dog rescue group as we are hosting a trivia night for a fundraiser. It went well and it looks like we’ve got alot of nice donations for raffle baskets, and door prizes.
This week we celebrate:
7 National Crown Roast of Pork Day
7 Fun Facts About Names Day (My dogs names Milele means forever and Kouga means steel fang) When we adopted Kouga he popped all the balls in the house, and most with one bite.
8 Fat Tuesday
8 Be Nasty Day (there is too much rudeness in the world today as it is now, I will be skipping this day) I cannot believe we have a day that encourages this. Ok, putting my soapbox away now.
8 International (Working) Women’s Day
8 National Peanut Cluster Day
9 Get over it day
9 Panic Day
10 Middle Name Pride Day
10 National Blueberry Popover Day
10 International Day of Awesomeness (People are awesome every day, frequently don’t realize it, and their feats of awesomeness are rarely recognized. We aim to fix that, with a special day to both perform and celebrate feats of awesomeness!)
11 Johnny Appleseed Day
Hi Sweetie! π
I would have “heard Christmas Carols” too! (you make me laugh!) … A whole bag of new towels for free…woo hoo, lucky girl!!!
It’s time for me to do some back tracking and catching up…
Have a fun day!
xoxo Paulette

I’m with you on Nasty Day. My daughter takes the kids into Chicago to a restaurant, Ed Debevics. The waitstaff insults you. Its the big attraction. I don’t understand that. Pay lots of money, for mediocre food and mouthy service. And there are waiting lines to get in.
Hey Crissie!
Cool Christmas in March!! I ALWAYs forget gift cards, rebates…all that promo stuff. I love new towels. When the sides start to fray they go into the back closet in the utility room and become “dog towels”. “Dog Towels” become blankies because my dogs MUST sleep on a rug, blanket etc and towels can be picked up every couple of days just in case they smell a little doggie.
Hav a great day
xx, CArol
Great list, Kelly! I’m so glad to learn the meanings of your puppies’ names! π
And I think “Nasty Day” is a ridiculous idea. Honestly though, there are days when it seems as if I bump into people who are “celebrating” it. π
On the 10th, I’ll be thinking of all of you kids because YOU are awesome. π
Hi Carol! π
I think the stores HOPE we’ll forget the promo stuff. I wonder how much they ever really pay out. I’ll bet it’s a low percentage.
Great recycling for the old towels and comfy for the doggies! π
Hi there, Paulette!
So good to see you! π
I’ve never heard of such great deals in March. Speaking of Christmas, hubby and I went to IHop for dinner and the little girl (about 4) two tables over was singing ‘Jingle Bells’. So cute.
I know, Clenna!
I think the stores are really hurting right now – a lot of people walking around window shopping but not many buying anything.
