This week’s Friday Favorites has a summer theme – complete with vintage illustration and seasonal quotes!

I wonder if this bathing beauty went through the angst that her sisters in today’s world often face while trying to choose a new bathing suit! 😉

“In summer, the song sings itself.” ~ William Carlos Williams

“A perfect summer day is when the sun is shining, the breeze is blowing, the birds are singing, and the lawn mower is broken.” ~ James Dent

“Oh, the summer night, Has a smile of light, And she sits on a sapphire throne.” ~ Barry Cornwall

“Deep summer is when laziness finds respectability.”
~ Sam Keen

“Summer is the time when one sheds one’s tensions with one’s clothes, and the right kind of day is jeweled balm for the battered spirit. A few of those days and you can become drunk with the belief that all’s right with the world.” ~ Ada Louise Huxtable

“The steady buzzzzzzz of the Katydid chorus, and the bass solo of the croaking Frog – a summer night’s serenade.”
~ Michael P. Garofalo

Thank you, thank you, sweet friends, for all of your comments this week. You are absolutely the best!

Hope you’ll have a chance to enjoy a little “you” time over the weekend. 😀

See ya Monday . . .

  1. I want her bathing suit! Maybe I can find someone on Etsy who’ll make that?

And, no, probably she didn’t worry about the same things. The ideal woman looked different, then…she was probably a dream girl! And still is, says me!

  2. “A perfect summer day is when the sun is shining, the breeze is blowing, the birds are singing, and the **NEIGHBOR’S** lawn mower is broken.”

Have a great weekend! And I hope YOUR neighbor who is out of a job does not decide to cut his grass on SUNDAY afternoon**

  3. Leaving soon for Mississippi form TN – hope to be in the swimming pool with my little grandson by dinner time – maybe with an umbrella drink nearby!

  4. I have not made plans for the weekend yet. I will have to see if Hubs is working tomorrow, that will determine alot of it. If he isn’t working we are going to head to cajunfest at the Harley dealer.

  5. Hi Sweetie!

Great quotes! My favorite was #4. 🙂

I don’t think the ladies of long ago had as hard a time finding a suit as we do today. I can’t remember when I last put one on…maybe fifteen years ago….all this water, yet I like to be covered up!

Here’s to quiet, mower free weekends!
