Pour Me a Tall One

Did you ever set up a lemonade stand when you were a kid?

I did – a few times.
Though I think it was Kool-Aid we were selling. 😉

As I recall, sales were a little slow; customers were few – a neighbor, a kid passing by on a bike, my mother. lol

But hey, it was the enterprise of the whole thing that mattered! We had a *business* with decisions to make! You know, making the sign, deciding how much to charge, finding a table cover, and of course gathering some spare change and a suitable “cash box” for all that money we were about to pull in. Good times! 😀

What brought all this to mind, you ask?

Well, I made this pendant yesterday and the lovely pastel color immediately reminded me of a tall glass of lemonade in summertime.

My design features Vintage Swarovski crystals (except for the tiny one, which is contemporary). This shade of soft yellow is called “jonquil”. Pretty name, don’t you think?

  1. Good Day!!
The pendant is very….refreshing. It’s pale yellow is cool…like cool temp cool…and does remind you of lemonade.

I don’t remember ever having a lemonade stand. I do remember sitting on the curb eating a peanut butter and banana sandwich! How funny.
We didn’t have many kids in our neighborhood as I grew up. They kinda came and went.

I am in quiet mode today!
    Have a great day Crissie.
    xx, Carol

  2. I never had a Lemonade stand – we lived in the country (2 miles outside the city!).
My own children had a stand but never did very well, it was a lot more work than rewarding.
But my boys went to a local golf course, hunted for golf balls and then sold them to the golfers!
One year we made crafts and sold them at the local Christmas craft fair.

  3. I always try to buy a cup or two from the kid selling it on the side of the road (really, at a quarter a pop, it’s quite affordable and makes them feel good), but I’m always afraid to drink it (I pour it out when I get around the corner!)

  4. no never did that,my sister has spina bifida so we tended to play indoors or in our garden.Nowadays a lot of parents are afraid to let their kis play outside unsupervised, its sad.

  5. here’s to lemonade stands, large “cash boxes”, our mom’s being our best customers, jonquils, and gorgeous, gorgeous swarovski pendants made by the one and only, sweet crystal!!!! xox, :))

  6. Jonquils are one of my favorite flowers. This pendant is so pretty. We didn’t have lemonade stands, we had penny carnivals. I don’t think kids do that anymore.

  7. What a pretty pendant! We never had a lemonade stand but once my sister and I filled our bathroom with glow in the dark sticky bugs and charged the neighborhood kids a nickle to see them! Thinking back this was one of our stranger ideas… 🙂

  8. Ohhh Crystal, how beautiful your pendant is! That pale yellow is so pretty, and you know me, I love the sparklies! … I never had a lemonade stand when I was a kid, but I love to stop when I see the little ones with their cute set ups on the side of the road. Their faces light up when I tell them it’s just sooo delicious and I need another cup! Too precious!!! xoxo Paulette

  9. This is so cute! ^^ We don’t have lemonade stands either, but during summer when school’s out some kids together with their mothers or older siblings sell shaved ice desserts. When I was young we tried selling frozen juice in little ice bags, but it never lasted long because we would just be eating what we made ourselves! c:
