Hi there 😀
It’s time for another weekly giveaway! If you’ve just landed here for the first time, I hope you’ll subscribe through the orange RSS button located on the sidebar, or put me in your “favorites” so that you’ll never miss your chance to enter.
A great big thank you goes out to each and every one of you who, last week, generously offered your input regarding the giveaways. I was just blown away by your thoughtful opinions, and the time you devoted to answering the survey. I truly appreciate it and I’ll be carefully considering everything that was suggested. There was one feeling that was almost unanimous though –
KEEP THE QUESTIONS!
Ok! I hear you loud and clear and I definitely will. 🙂
Now on to the giveaway!
This week, I have a necklace in royal shades of blue that’s fit for a princess.
I‘ve used some very special vintage beads in luscious light blue, midnight blue, and deep royal blue. The ovals have a gorgeous luster. They’re Vintage Moonglow Lucite, which is particularly rare in the oval shape. The larger round beads are Vintage Czech glass and they have exquisite faceting and an aurora borealis flash on one side. The smallest beads are contemporary Czech glass with a rich velvety sheen. Measurements: just under 20” in length. Closes with a textured, silver-plated, toggle clasp.
Contest Rules and How To Enter
Any day you leave a comment on this blog – it is counted as a chance to enter that week’s giveaway.
For example, if you answer today’s question (you’ll find it below!) that will give you one chance.
But if you then come back tomorrow and comment on tomorrow’s post too – you will have earned another chance in this week’s giveaway – so you’ll have 2 chances!
Return on the next day, comment, and you add another chance! And so on through the week. When you comment you do not have to mention that it’s an entry in the giveaway. My blog program shows me all of the “comments” as they come in – so I do not miss any of them, and all will count to be entered into the drawing! 😀
The giveaways end on Sundays, so you’ll have a little time to “catch up” if you missed any weekday posts.
Today’s question is:
Can you tell us about something that *you* really love – but friends, family, or co-workers just don’t seem to appreciate?
The Boring Stuff . . .
You must be 18 yrs. old. After the completion of the contest, the name of the winner will be listed here. The winner will also be notified by email. If the winner fails to respond to email within 3 days from the time notification email has been sent, the win will be null and void and a new winner will be chosen. The prize will be mailed via USPS First Class Mail
All entries must be received by 9:00 p.m. EST on 01/17/10, and the winner will be selected on or about 01/18/10.
Beautiful necklace!!
I am a fan of socks. Mys husband and daughters would go barefoot at all times…… I get cold just thinking about it!
Its a beautiful necklace.
Hi! The necklace is beautiful. 🙂 I like having watches. Most people can go somewhere without a watch but not me. 🙂
Beautiful necklace! I appreciate the garter snakes that live in my yard but all my friends are afraid of them!
Can you tell us about something that *you* really love – but friends, family, or co-workers just don’t seem to appreciate?
I love receiving handmade gifts and I often knit or make scrapbooks for people but I NEVER receive anything homemade. Forget store bought stuff….bring on the stuff made with love!
I really love 50’s style but my husband and friends absolutely hate it!
Snail mail. I adore, adore, ADORE a personal letter in the mail, the one subscription magazine I receive each month, invitations, thank you notes, all of it! I don’t even mind getting the bills (*gasp*).
I make it a point to write encouraging letters and cards as much as is possible to those I love.
I adore that necklace, too! 🙂
Karaoke!
i love to watch murder she wrote reruns…and it kills my husband…they are like sleeping potion to him!
catalogs! I Know this isn’t earth friendly and it’s just plain silly, but I LOVE browsing catalogs. AND, btw, it’s a beautiful necklace. 🙂
I love sock monkeys! Yep it is weird, but I don’t care what my family thinks. They are cute, fun and cuddly. I even have a set of flannel sheets and made a quilt with sock monkey fabric. Hey, just monkeying around, ya know?
I love rainy days… most people think they’re miserable
I really love working puzzles. Something about taking time to put something together brings peace to me. I LOVE doing this on the weekends and my husband doesn’t understand, he said he doesn’t have the patience.
I am in love with the necklace.
I love watching Ghost Hunters and Paranormal State. My husband just does not get it. He would rather watch bugs and snakes on the Discovery Channel. Yuck!
Black and white photography, and art in general. I could sit for hours and simply stare at a B&W photo or a painting, imagining, dreaming, lost in wonder….but my family thinks I’m a total nutball! Culture, people, culture!!
🙂
Oh this is so weird! I am not a sports fan at all, but I am a huge, huge fan of boxing and UFC. None of my girlfriends understand this obsession, but my husband likes it.
Thanks for this beautiful necklace giveaway.
I just love heavy metal music, but all my family and co-worker hate it!!!
Beautiful giveaway I love the shade of blue and like anything vintage. Thanks Marian
fingers crossed
I love fabric! Cotton fabric! Any color, any theme, any and all! I am a quilter and some of my friends and family just don’t get it.
The necklace is beautiful. I don’t think enough people appreciate musicals. THe music telling a story, the talent, the acting….they’re awesome. I keep trying to convince my hubby of this!
I love to sew. My husband and his family thinks it is a silly thing to do when you could just buy them. They always turn their noses up at my handmade clothing for my daughters.
Love this necklace!! I love texting instead of calling for simple conversations, such as “what do you want for dinner”, saves time! Some people just don’t get that!
My family and friends just can’t appreciate crafts, I make most of my own things (gifts/ bags/ clothes) and they just don’t get it!
I love vampire stories but everyone just teased me about it! They can’t get interested at all!
It’s a guilty pleasure… I’ve recently become reacquainted with House Hunters on hgtv. We do not plan on moving soon, nor am I interested in these people but I love watching it!! My husband just shakes his head and leaves the room.
I love getting mail packages / exchanges from strangers. My family thinks it’s weird why I spend money this way ( :
I really like lotions. I love to smell like some kind of berry or cookie. People love the way I smell and always say something about it, but most people dont think about doing it themselves.
I love aprons, they keep your clothes clean, the large pockets are handy for storing all those bits and pieces you find when cleaning the house but my family seem to find them funny.
I really love singing and performing on stage, but my family don’t support it much.
I LOVE clean sheets- I get so excited when I climb into bed into freshly laundered sheets- I look forward to it all day! my husband doesn’t see the big excitement, and it’s not practical to wash the sheets everyday, so it’s a sometimes treat for me! Never met another openly clean sheet freak like me!
I love names. The study of names is onomastics. I have loved names and pouring though name books since I was a child. Now I belong to the American Name Society and I hope one day to do a serious study of personal names. Most people, when I tell this, thinks I’m crazy. Luckily I’ve converted my hubby to my name passion and he supports me by getting me unusual name books at Christmas.
I love to play music very loud. 🙂 My family obviously doesn’t appreciate it, so I keep the music low for them!
I really love reruns of Little House on the Prairie. My hubby laughs and calls me old.
I appreciate 80’s music (but I did outgrow the 80’s hair a while back).
I love watching all the sappy christmas specials on tv, even those I’ve seen many many times. The family doesn’t get it.
My kids don’t seem to appreciate my innate chattiness. Years ago my shyness faded, replaced with an ability to connect and bring out most people’s warmth. My kids hate being delayed and don’t want me getting to know EVERYONE. I remember feeling the same way about my mom. My husband tends to whip out his I-phone but has benefitted from it when I hone in on the person he needs to network with at a party and find out things that no one at work knows. We agree ahead of time how long I have to get in and out of a meeting with people.
i love to just get in the car and drive to different places and see the scenery but no one else does.
I really love stories of russia but others are bored or aggrevated.

I love to get massages but all my friends think I am nuts for spending the money on them.
I really love squirrels, but it seems that everyone around me thinks they’re too spastic. I guess I can relate to their zeal!
I love to knit and do other crafty things, but my family doesn’t really appreciate handmade gifts. I’m really lucky that I got a mother in law who is an expert knitter.
There are some foods that I love and none of my family and friends do mainly seafood stuff like Mussels, squid, Crab and Lobster (which means I rarely get to eat them!)
When trying to decide what to name our daughter, I really like the names Meridian and Margot, and my husband and family HATED them. Oh well…
