Happy last day of November! Hope you had a lovely Thanksgiving. We’re still working on the leftovers – but that’s a good thing. 😉
This week’s giveaway is a very flirty pair of earrings that would be perfect for a holiday party or to add a touch of sparkle on New Year’s Eve!
For this design, I chose vintage Swarovski marquise-shaped crystal drops, which have a gorgeous textured design. Each drop is set with a glittering faceted crystal in a mouth-watering shade of Rose Pink. Swarovski Rose Aurora Borealis crystals dangle below. For pierced ears, the earrings have 14k gold filled, artisan–crafted, earwires with an elegant petal shape.

The makeup from bare essentials I gave my sister got her so excited! Haven’t seen that in awhile!
Definately the chicken. No one would have been there to take care of the little hatchling!
Made it!
Didn’t think I’d get here, but here I am!!
I just can’t think of what gift I ever gave that got the MOST enthusiastic reception. BUT, when my daughter was about 8, I used to sew MANY of her clothes. I remember one year, for her birthday, I made a bunch of tops. Each had an interesting sleeve detail. We still talk about and remember how excited she was when she received them. “I had a dream about these” was one of her excited comments. She was such a sweet kid!
The chicken or the egg……thats a tough one. But since I am an evolutionist, I’ll say the mutated egg.
Hope you had a great holiday, Crissy. All was quiet at my house and I am happy it was!!
I would have to say the chicken. Without the chicken the egg couldn’t hatch. God created Adam and Eve and they weren’t embryos. That is a tough question though.
The best reaction was when my sister and I gave my parents a video slide show of pictures from when we were little set to their song… made them cry, but it was a great reaction.
I would say the chicken came first… I have the inside scoop and that’s all I can say. ;o)
Just subscribed to your site… thanks for the chance at an awesome giveaway!
Happy Holidays! Our youngest son has always loved Legos and one Christmas he asked Santa for the Harry Potter Castle Lego Set!
His eyes were the size of silver dollars when he unwrapped this gift.
Thanks, Cindi
The Egg……

I am already a happy subscriber to your blog!
Many thanks….. Cindi
I gave my boyfriend a new leather jacket for Christmas last year. He was stunned — especially because he loves leather jackets and his father had tossed out the one he kept in storage (since we weren’t living in a jacket climate last year).
I painted a portrait of my dad for my mother soon after he passed away. She was speechless!
Thank you- Emily
I’m sure the chicken came first. How else would the egg come into being? (Then again, how did the chicken…)
-Emily
I just subscribed! (And not just for the earrings ;).

a book of quotations that I hand wrote for my husband.
The gift that I have given that got the most enthusastic response was a spa day for my best friend!
Oh my goodness, those earrings are so gorgeous, and they ARE a mouth-watering shade of pink! Stunning Crystal!…uh oh, I was so taken with the earrings, I forgot the question! …. okay, I’m back… I really can’t remember any stand out reaction! hee hee hee… Hugs, Paulette xoxo
Crystal, I never was any good at the chicken or the egg question, but I’d have to say the chicken evolved from something, and didn’t just pop onto this earth as a chicken, so I’m leaning towards an egg of some sort.
Hugs, Paulette xoxo
Definitely the chicken!
Favorite response was when I gave my mom a picture of my sonogram of my twins!
The most enthusiastic giftee was the giant bowie knife I gave my fiance, a big outdoorsman. He was so surprised I had even thought to buy him a knife!
And I think the chicken came first! =D
I would say the egg because where else would the chicken have come from.
I surprised my Mom with tickets to her favorite Shakespeare play, A Midsummer Nights Dream. She was shocked that I remembered that it was her favorite and excited to see it at a new local theater. Plus we spent the afternoon enjoying each others company…not a common occurrence these days with two small children.
I gave my brother a “Darth Tater” in 2004. Mr. Potato Head with a Darth Vador mask and cape. It was hilarious to watch him open it up. He played with it for hours! 🙂
What came first? The chicken. God made the chicken in order to have the eggs and keep them warm.
In high school I had an awesome math teacher who everybody loved. Throughout the year, she complained about how uncomfortable her chair was and how much she hated it, so everybody in the class brought in money to buy her a new chair as a Christmas present. After much thought and planning, we succeeded in buying her a comfy chair that even had a built in massager! She was totally taken by surprise and we all felt really proud.
As for the second question, the egg definitely came first. Think about it, there are many other creatures that can lay eggs, but no other creatures can give birth to chickens.
Oops, I forgot to leave my answer to the second question as a separate comment. Anyways, my answer is …..
the egg definitely came first. Think about it, there are many other creatures that can lay eggs, but no other creatures can give birth to chickens.
The most enthusiastic reaction I’ve ever gotten to a gift was when I gave my 8-year-old Godson the Wimpy Kids books. He was so excited, I don’t think he stopped hopping for a solid five minutes!
I gave my MIL (soon-to-be MIL at the time) a picture frame w/ photographs of all three of her children. I think it was the first time she had professional pictures of them in several years.
The chicken. The egg couldn’t incubate or have dna w/o a chicken! 🙂
I gave my little girl a bike last year and she lit up like a Christmas tree!! Love that!!
the egg!!
Definitely the chicken!
The cardigan I handknit for my brother.
The chicken!
The deepest reaction regarding a Christmas gift that I’ve given was when I made a T-shirt of my bf’s deceased mother from a framed pencil sketch of her.
I’d have to say the chicken, as not every animal came from an egg, so I’m assuming the chicken was made just like any other animal. That’s my logic.

I crocheted a blanket for my dad with my kid’s hand prints stitched on it in felt. I think he wanted to cry, but he’s a dude, you know, so he just thanked me, but that blanket is protected, guarded and used by only him.
Probably the most enthusiastically received gift I have ever given
was a short film I made for and gave to my mother last christmas.
She teared up when she watched it for the first time.
A gift basket of wine and gourmet food that I got my mom for her birthday – I don’t think she was expecting such an extravagant gift, since I’m usually broke.
The egg!
The most enthusiastically received gift was the American Girl I got for my daughter.
I once tracked down a vintage copy of one of my mom’s favorite books, written in the language she originally read it in – Swedish! It was a total surprise and it blew her away. 🙂
when my siblings and i bought my parents tickets to norah jones…they were so suprised!
The best reaction was when I gave my mom a pair of Ugg slippers. She loves Uggs but has never had the money to buy a pair. I got a great deal and her reaction was priceless.
The chicken definately came first!
For our one year anniversary, I made a calendar for my ex-boyfriend. Each month had a picture of us throughout our first year together. I put all important dates in the calendar (like our first date, first kiss, etc) and had it printed out professionally. I didn’t expect him to love it as much as he did but it rocked to see his face light up the way it did 🙂
