Hello, hello!

Welcome to my weekly giveaway!

This week, I have a sweet pair of earrings that I’m calling, “Cherry Blossoms” for their gorgeous palette of bright red and rosy pink.

I’ve used Vintage Swarovski tri-stone, graduated, prong-set crystal drops that have a truly breath-taking sparkle as the light plays upon them.

Measurements: 1-1/4” in length – including the 14k gold-filled ear wires.

Contest Rules and How To Enter

Any day you leave a comment on this blog – it is counted as a chance to enter that week’s giveaway.

For example, if you answer today’s question (you’ll find it below!) that will give you one chance.

But if you then come back another day this week and comment on a different post – you will have earned another chance in this week’s giveaway! There are usually 4-5 posts per week – Monday through Friday – so you can have multiple chances to enter!

When you comment you do not have to mention that it’s an entry in the giveaway. My blog program shows me all of the “comments” as they come in – so I do not miss any of them, and all will count to be entered into the drawing! 😀

Today’s question is:

What was your favorite toy when you were a kid?

Giveaway – Cherry Blossoms Earrings — 64 Comments

  1. Oh OH, do scissors count as a toy? Had lots of fun cutting up paper and fabric; and got in a bit of trouble over it too. 😀 Always a challenge to the parents.

Crystal, the cherry blossom earrings are gorgeous.

  2. ah, you bring me back to my sad childhood. I can’t remember a favorite toy. But don’t feel bad for me. I have lots of favorite toys now.

I have a BIG bear that I love and will not part with. He sits in the corner of my bedroom and occasionally I come across an item at a garage sale that fits him perfectly so he gets a change of clothes.

I also have a long legged leopard that my grandson gave me when he was small. I’ll love him (both of them!) forever.

And, to my grandson’s amazement, I keep a tiny Toy Soldier, Archer, in my sewing box. One of my grandson’s leftovers that I saved some time ago.

Yes, I have lots of favorite toys now. I could tell you about lots more.
    xx. Carol

  3. I had a stuffed Octopus that I loved and then there was the big wheel and later on a ten speed that took me every where until I could drive.

  4. I had a stuffed Panda Bear named “Ping” I still have him and he’s one of my son’s favorite toys too!

  5. I had a variety of favourite toys, but the thing that sticks with me is a crocheted outfit my grandmother made for my barbie. It had a great tiered ruffly skirt made of all kinds of pastel fancy yarn scraps, and she whipped it up one day after I spent a good while staring at a fancy ballerina porcelain doll in a shop window. That skirt fascinated me, I think I was most impressed by the way she made it and that it was unique, although the soft fluffy and silky yarns helped as well, I’m sure.

  6. It’s hard to remember… I know I spent a lot of time playing with my Cinderella castle at some point in my childhood. And of course, Barbie took up a few years also.

  7. I loved my Cabbage Patch Kid. His name was JoeBob. I lost him in the mall and when we went back the guy that worked there said that a little kid found him and took him. I cried and cried. I said that I used to lick his head(he was bald) and that I did so when I was sick one time and I hope the kid does too so they will get sick. ( I remember saying that while walking back to the car with my mom) I had it since I was born till about 5.

  8. I wasn’t much of a “play” kid, weird huh? I had mostly stuffed animals and books. We moved around a lot so I never really had anything for too long. Some people are posting really sentimental toys, which I don’t really have any. There was one toy called the Skip It that I had when I was somewhat older (preteen) that I LOVED. All kids nowadays should have one. I always grew up with the Skip It, jump ropes, and hula hoops – fun and great exercise.

  9. I had so many favorite toys!!! But my bike was a fave. I would ride all over the sidewalks in my neighborhood pretending it was a horse. Good times. 🙂

  10. My favorite toy was fashion plates!!! I would work on drawing and creating for hours! xo

  11. My favourite toy as a kid was barbie and anything star wars. Thanks fingers crossed. Marian

  12. My troll doll is what comes to
my mind right now. One of
    my favourite xmas gifts when
I was young was a box of fabric
scraps from my aunt to make
    clothes for my troll doll.

  13. My favorite toy was a doll very small with orange hair and many freckles. Even I keep in my house!

  14. My favorite toy would have to be my cabbage patch dolls 🙂

  15. Oooh, these are sooo pretty! Pink and sparkly…perfect!!!

I loved my dolls, my crayons and my bunny (who I still have!)
    xoxo Paulette

PS….you didn’t tell us your favorite toy, Crystal! 😉

  16. Kitty puff! This yellow kitty, i loved so much I had two one I sucked on and one my mom saved.

  17. wow ! what can i tell you!

I loved a plastico doll! they are so little and i can paint her lips and kiss my cheek with her mouth and when i did it she said: “i love you” z

    I love it!

  18. My favorite toy was my megadrive LOL i just don’t remember about my life before the videogames

  19. My favorite toys were my Barbies! I love getting different clothing and accessories for them, then dressing them up 😀

  20. my favorite toy is the mini cooking set made of clay! I love to cook since I was a kid

  21. You know, I have spent the entire WEEK overthinking this!

But, not counting Art Supplies- which is more a category than a toy– my favorite toy was Stick.

Stick was awesome, a complete entertainment package. Stick could be a sword, to fight dragons, or a wand, to summon clay golems from the ground, or a broom to ride, or a teacher’s pointer. Stick could pick things up, hold a fishing line, or help me get home when I’d twisted an ankle. Stick could even be Art Supplies, if there was a good patch of loose dirt or mud to use as a canvas.

And the awesome thing was that Stick was never out of my price range. My parents never made me be careful with Stick, or told me what I couldn’t use it for, or made me put it away. When I wasn’t playing with it, I could leave it in the yard. It was the perfect toy. And still is!

  22. My favorite toys were two stuffed teddies that I still have 🙂 One was a black and white bear (eyes and nose are gone now) and the other was a black and white cat.

  23. I had the hair cutter barbie, and i loved her. But i left her hair in the bathroom sink and my dad threw her down the stairs. So she then became handicapped barbie, and she was still my favorite, even without a leg!

  24. my sister and i had many madame alexander dolls that we played with for hours. my mom would also sew beautiful clothes for them. the bride was my favorite!

  25. One of my favorite toys was play doh 🙂 I loved all of the colors, and it was so much fun to try to make different shapes. It was also fun, because it was squishy 🙂

  26. My imagination you would say, we didn’t have a lot of money, so material things weren’t there. I collected anything about horses, like to draw. But our toys were being creative outside or in & playing house, cops & robbers, finding our own adventures.

  27. My favorite toy when I was little was anything BARBIE – I loved Barbie Dolls like crazy!! 🙂 Please enter me in your awesome giveaway! Thank you! Amanda 🙂

  28. My Little Ponies were my favorite. I even took them down to the creek so they could play in the water. I spent hours making up stories for them to play in. My 5 yr old daughter now owns the ponies that managed to not get lost or ruined. She loves them too and has been adding to the collection with newer ponies. 🙂

  29. I had a doll I named Sandy that that papppaw gave to me.Oh how I loved that doll ,and my dear papppaw who has now in heaven.
