Memorial Day Weekend – a time for remembering loved ones and countrymen, a time for family gatherings and picnics, and because it’s considered the opening weekend of summer – a time for planting flowers and gardens.
Here in New England, we do not begin serious gardening before Memorial Day as there’s still a possibility of frost up until then. In the next few days, we’ll spend some time working on our flower beds. 🙂
In honor of the season, I’m including a sweet vintage seed packet and a quotation with a floral theme!
I’d rather have roses on my table than diamonds on my neck. ~Emma Goldman
Wishing you rest, relaxation, and fun this weekend!
