Giveaway – Sweetheart Necklace

Welcome, welcome! 😀

It is no exaggeration to say that the answers to last week’s giveaway question were truly the best ever!!! I’ve never seen such a wide range of interesting, thoughtful, clever, and very amusing responses. You sure know how to make me feel lucky to have you as readers. 😀

And I really love that you are beginning to talk to each other here, too! My dream is that it will continue and that we’ll have even more back and forth chat as the weeks go on.

For this week’s giveaway, I wanted to do something with a Valentine’s theme – something dressy enough to wear out to dinner, but still casual enough to throw on with a t-shirt.

Sweetheart Necklace

The focal point is a Swarovski Clear Crystal Heart with gorgeous facets that dance and glitter as the light hits them.

For accents, I’ve used Czech fire polished rounds in deep garnet red, and Swarovski Clear Aurora Borealis crystal beads. Tiny glass seed beads form the rest of the strand and the closure is a silver-plated screw-twist barrel clasp. The necklace measures 19″ in length.

Contest Rules and How To Enter

Any day you leave a comment on this blog – it is counted as a chance to enter that week’s giveaway.

For example, if you answer today’s question (you’ll find it below!) that will give you one chance.

But if you then come back another day this week and comment on a different post – you will have earned another chance in this week’s giveaway! There are usually 5 posts per week – Monday through Friday – so you can have up to 5 chances to enter!

When you comment you do not have to mention that it’s an entry in the giveaway. My blog program shows me all of the “comments” as they come in – so I do not miss any of them, and all will count to be entered into the drawing! 😀

Today’s question is:

Can you tell us about something that you’ve never tried, but would like to – because you think you might enjoy it?

Giveaway – Sweetheart Necklace — 96 Comments

  1. Beautiful Necklace!

I would really like to try artichoke hearts. I don’t know WHY I never have. I know Terry would hate them because he’s like Mikey, he doesn’t like anything. My family always teases me. They say I’ll eat anything. Well, I am just willing to try new things. I never saw artichoke hearts on a menu at a restaraunt, but if I do, I am sure I would try them.

  2. Something that I have never tried but am going to soon is making a cake with fondant over it! It will be for my daughters 1st Birthday so I hope I can get it right! I think I will enjoy it if it does go smoothly.

  3. I’ve never tried cake decorating, but think I would enjoy it. I don’t know if I would be good…but I think it would be fun!

  4. This came to my mind in a flash…tornado chasing. Yep, I’m fascinated with twisters. Now I don’t want to see anyone get hurt or have their home get damaged; I hate that part of storms. I simply want to see a cow or a chicken go flying past (and land safely of course). My hubby and I were actually talking about paying to go on one of those trips out west. You know, the ones where you sign a piece of paper saying “I won’t sue you if I die”. I know I would love it. Now that I’m a Mom, I’ll have to hold off on this until the little one is grown. Some people like to sky dive in their old age, and I’m gonna chase twisters!

  5. I would like to try snowboarding. It looks like such fun. If anyone wants to dog sled I can help with that.

  6. Wow, is that necklace ever gorgeous!!! I just love it! Perfect for Valentine’s Day…or anyday! You worked your magic again on this one Miss Crystal!

…If I had the chance, I’d so like to pet a tiger or a lion. Maybe spend a whole day with a trainer at a zoo or a wildlife preserve. I love animals, and for me that would be a dream come true. :o)

    xoxo Paulette

  7. Sky diving! I’ve always wanted to try it because I’ve had flying dreams my whole life. The closest I’ve come (so far) is being certified to fly an ultralight plane. That was neat but it wasn’t just me and the air.

Of course, I’d want to sky dive the way the military guys do — make a running jump out the back of an airplane, the gung ho way! None of that static line stuff for me.

  8. Ohhhhh – WOW – That is gorgeous!

I would LOVE to try dance lessons with my Husband. I think it would be so much fun – But I am huge chicken and he would NEVER go for dancing lessons…lol

  9. Um..
If my body worked, there is so MUCH I’d want to try..but in the real world, my list of things-to-do goes from infinite to, you know, about half-infinite. I want togrow a bonsai tree; I want to paint a mural; I want to publish an art book; I want to get a tattoo, and learn to make webpages, and make a clay statue, and raise chickens…
and I want to take a long trip by train! Maybe to New Orleans, in the summer, I want to go to New Orleans…

and obviously, I want to live for a few hundred years. Maybe then, I’ll start running out of things I want to try. I can’t imagine it, though!

  10. I really want to try cross country skiing. I by no means want to invest in the equipment and then hate it. It burns up to 500 calories an hour, I am sure it is challenging, but who doesn’t love a good challenge.

Carol, artichoke hearts are delicious, especially the marinated ones on a salad! But it seems to be a love it or hate it food, not so much a grey area!

  11. I’ve never tried traveling to another country–but it’s something I definitely want to do soon. France or Venice are my top two choices.

    Marci

  12. i would love to try dancing. all those shows on tv (like so you think you can dance – my absolute fave!) make me wish i could move like that, but i have two left feet. i think i’d enjoy it but at the same time i’m too scared to try!

  13. I never rode a motorcycle and I think I’d definitely enjoy it. But then I’d eventually have to let DH get himself one…

  14. Hmm, so many things that I would like to try, snowmobiling, waterskiing, culinary school. I can’t choose only one!

  15. I would love to try soldering as a process to use in jewelry making. I’m scared of the torch. I am a bit of a clutz and don’t want to burn anything up!

  16. I would love to try black water rafting in New Zealand aka cave tubing !! You take a raft in caverns which have rapids and paddle away. It looks like soo much fun.. now i just have to get there!!

  17. Something I have never tried but would like to is training/running in a marathon. I have my sight set on a race in August….very exciting.

  18. I have never scuba dived, but I bet I’d love it. I enjoy snorkeling while on vacation, even though I’m rather afraid of the ocean (not the water, all the things IN the water, but I forget about it once I’ve been in the water a bit). I imagine it’s even better as you really have the freedom to go wherever you wish under the water.

  19. I’d like to try eating insects! I know it may be gross, but it is an actual food source! Am quite adventurous.

  20. I don’t mind trying dancing lessons I suppose. Used to go for ballet but want to try something “harder”

    Thanks for this!

  21. Ooh, this is pretty.
I’ve been thinking about trying skiing. Looks like fun–and perfect for this weather.

  22. I would love to try having a facial! It looks like such an amazing/pampering activity. Maybe someday 🙂

  23. I would LOVE to learn how to fence, to have a really good instructor and my own fencing equipment and of course a place to practice:)

  24. Its so funny that someone else wants to try this too, growing a bonsai tree. I’m trying to make some of my house decor a little more Asian and I want to try my hand at growing my own bonsai trees. Love the necklace by the way!

  25. i’d love to try a curry dish…they seem exciting but i’ve never worked up the nerve to order one! haha

  26. I am dying to try cutting my hair short. I’ve had the same hair style forever and have never had truly short hair. But I’m chicken!!

  27. I would like to try acupuncture. I have heard many good things about it but I am a little afraid to try it. I don’t like needles!! A good friend told me that you cannot even feel them though, so I may give it a try someday.
    Beautiful necklace Crystal!
You always have the prettiest things.

  28. Great Necklace. The one thing I have always wanted to try but never had the time was a cross country drive with my Husband and Kids. We drove to Florida (from Mass) but never made it to California. Maybe this year!!!

  29. It’s a beautiful necklace 🙂

I wanted to try cleaning my room once, but the mess was too scary XD

  30. Hi! I think I would like Thai food even though I haven’t tried it yet. The necklace is so beautiful.:) You did a excellent job making it.

    Have a wonderful day!!!!
