Giveaway – Cafe au Lait Necklace

fruitbasketThanks so much for stopping by and welcome to my weekly giveaway!

Hope everyone had a great weekend and that there’s still a little candy left. πŸ˜‰

If you’re like me, it’s going to take a few days to get used to this time change. Even though we gained an hour, somehow I always feel a little off schedule for the first week or so.

Luckily the giveaway is right on time! πŸ˜€ This week I have a pretty necklace that would be especially nice to wear with earthy browns, bronzes, rusts, golds, warm oranges – the Thanksgiving colors! Of course, it’s really neutral enough to blend with a variety of colors in your wardrobe.

Cafe au Lait Necklace

I used some lovely Czech glass beads in a shade of light brown that looks just like coffee with cream. The beads have a glossy finish and little splashes of dark brown and tiny hints of blue. For accents I added Czech glass faceted beads in a muted gold and a rich bronze.

The necklace measures 18-1/2″ long and it fastens with a heart-shaped, gold-plated, toggle clasp.

Giveaway – Cafe au Lait Necklace — 78 Comments

  1. Great Necklace. A little different than you usually make. I like it!

I almost always use a pen and paper for notes. I keep a grocery list on the counter. If they use the last of something, they must put it on the list to be replenished on the next trip to the store.

I almost always write notes with a pen, unless the note is to be sent over the internet.

    Have a great day Crissy.
    xx, Carol

  2. Personal chef. Can I trade that for a house cleaner? Food is not an obsession for me. I’d probably ask for a Mandarin Orange/grilled chicken salad with homemade dressing. If you have an Applebees near you, that’s where you can find one. I used to get the Florida Salad at Marshall Fields also. When Laurie was young, we would go to the Mall on Saturday Mornings and eat at the cafe in Marshall Field (now Macy’s).

See, I AM a person of simple pleasures and easy to please.

Now, housekeeper. THAT is a dream come true!!

    XX, Carol

  3. If I’m writng a list that needs to go with me – like for shopping then I use a pen and write it.
But if it’s a list of stuff to do around the house I type it on a post it that’s on my computer.

  4. For dinner tonight, I asked for Maryland Blue Crab Cakes, a small steak stuffed with lobster and a salad!

  5. I prefer my trusty Sharpie pen when jotting down a quick note or shopping list. Carrying a computer around the grocery sore is just a little awkward. hehe πŸ˜‰

  6. Always a pen. Especially for shopping lists and such, I don’t like having to actually print them from the computer. I do keep my to-do list on my computer, but I mostly write it in note form first and then move it over.

  7. If I had a personal chef . . . I had this AMAZING yellow coconut-carrot soup in a restaurant once. I don’t know what it was made of, but it was delicious. I would send my chef to that restaurant and see if they could figure out how to make that soup. And hot apple crisp with vanilla bean ice cream for dessert πŸ™‚

  8. Your jewelry is beautiful! I love tones of brown with the clothes I wear.
I use a pencil to make lists. And if I had a personal chef, I would like a chicken pot pie made from scratch tonight! And cheesecake for dessert!
    Happy Monday!

  9. If I had my own personal chef I’d ask him to cook a mexican feast or chicken alfredo pasta I love that. Thanks for the lovely giveaway.Marian

  10. Beautiful necklace. Looks like something I would wear. Love the heart clasp.

As to my lists… I have many. And I do them all by hand. I keep a pad of paper near me most of the time to jot down things as I think of them.

Today I added 3 section display board, light blue yarn, clip ons for my flowers. I keep one list for craft supplies, one list for personal stuff, one list for shopping for the house. Many lists. And then they all go in my purse. They are handy when I am out and about running errands.

  11. If I had a personal chef, oh how I wish….

I would have him/her make me something healthy and allowable for a diabetic but equally pleasing to the eye and stomach. Diabetically Delicious.

  12. Hi Crystal!

Gorgeous necklace!!! Love the colors and the pretty beads you chose, especially those faceted ones! … soooo pretty!

A pencil is always my first choice when I reach for something to write with. I have to remind myself to use a pen when writing things to be sent through the mail! πŸ˜‰

  13. Oh boy, is this question ever up my alley! I’m always telling my husband, that if we ever won lotto, I’d get a chef!!!

If I had one now, the first thing I’d have him make would be breakfast for dinner! You know eggs, pancakes, hash browns and waffles! Breakfast food is my favorite, and I can eat it at anytime. I know it doesn’t sound like something you’d ask a chef to make, but I would…especially since my chef would also have to clean up the big mess afterwards. THAT would be the best part!

    Hugs, Paulette xoxo

  14. Hi!
Great necklace…would be a wonderful surprise for my MIL!

I ALWAYS make lists with a pen…and I’m pretty particular about the pen I use too! Love a super thin sharpie, or a papermate ballpoint pen! Guess that’s why I got in the paper business…love to write!

    Michelle

  15. Personal chef….yum!
I’d order a wonderful, creamy pasta dish. Salad with warm goat cheese. And something chocolate for dessert. I’d try not to get too specific, just let the chef do his thing!

  16. When making a shopping list I always use paper and pen. I think I do this because I love to write.

  17. If I had a personal chef for today…I would ask for something like pork tenderloin with rice and apricot glaze and maybe some grilled veggies. Since you cannot forget dessert, that would probably be some type of cheese cake.

  18. I use a pen for shopping lists- our printer doesn’t work! And I think it’s easier and faster. I buy small notebooks from the dollar store just for that purpose.

  19. When you’re writing a quick note or a shopping list, do you prefer using a pen or the keyboard?

I keep a magnetic notepad on the fridge and jot down lists and notes on that. I also have a magnetic calendar on my fridge where I jot down appointments. Usually it’s a pen, sometimes a pencil, often a crayon.

  20. If you had you own personal chef, describe the meal you’d ask him to cook for you tonight! πŸ˜‰

Homemade baked mac & cheese with caesar salad and warm garlic cheese bread… yum!

  21. I definitely prefer a pen to write little lists with. I’m certainly a list maker. It’s crossing things off the list I have a problem with.

  22. Personal chef….veal cordon bleu! With appropriate side dishes, salad and something fantastic for dessert. Maybe bananas flambe?

  23. scrumptous, exotic dishes whose names I can’t pronounce, and won’t care to, because then my mouth will be too busy as i cram it with food!

  24. I prefer using pen when writing out lists because then, I can take it out with me whenever. When I type it at the keyboard, it tends to be left there, forgotten!

  25. Personal chef? This is fantastic! I would want him to serve me the best Italian 3 course meal–with bread of course! I’ll allow him to be creative with what. Perferably, I enjoy Feticcuni Alfredo and for dessert, something…cold. πŸ™‚

  26. 1) I first use the keyboard. I make out lists in Word, Notepad, or Google Reader, and then I’ll transfer them to paper or print them if necessary. I prefer pen to pencil in most cases.

  27. 2) If I had a personal chef, oh my goodness … I would ask for grilled shrimp, a delicious side salad, and a loaded baked potato. Yum! I’d have feta, olives, tomatoes, and mixed greens in the salad, and sour cream, cheese, chives, and bacon in the potato πŸ™‚

  28. The necklace is beautiful! I prefer to use a pen when writing quick notes or shopping list πŸ™‚

  29. When you’re writing a quick note or a shopping list, do you prefer using a pen or the keyboard? I still prefer pen for that, but I use more and more keyboard to make notes

  30. When writing a quick note I use a pen. Its so much handier than turning on the computer and printer. I love this necklace! Thank you for this giveaway.

  31. A Personal Chef would be a dream come true for me as I can not cook. I would choose a traditional turkey dinner with mashed potatoes, veggies and turkey with gravy. For dessert I would want a home baked apple raspberry pie with chocolate ice cream. OH, now I’m really hungry!

  32. What a beautiful necklace!!!

Question #1: Ink. I usually scribble lists off on one of my many notepads in ink and it has to be the flair-like skinny tip, markery pens (what are they called?). A doodle usually accompanies the list.

  33. fun questions!

Personal chef…hmmmm. I’d like a sampler of the world. Chicken Stir Fry with Apples. Spicy Thai Rolls. Fresh Guacamole. Angel Hair Pasta with Vodka Sauce….and Tiramisu with a ton of Marscapone.

  34. pen and paper, please. it’s faster, plus i can just jot it down in my notebook i carry everywhere with me!

  35. regarding the chef. i’d go for a full blown asian meal, since i’m currently in europe where asian food just isn’t the same. πŸ™ i’d want soft shell crab, dim sum (egg tarts are a must), curry, congee, roast meat…

i’d make him cook everything possible tonight. then freeze the leftovers. πŸ™‚
