Giveaway – Cafe au Lait Necklace

fruitbasketThanks so much for stopping by and welcome to my weekly giveaway!

Hope everyone had a great weekend and that there’s still a little candy left. πŸ˜‰

If you’re like me, it’s going to take a few days to get used to this time change. Even though we gained an hour, somehow I always feel a little off schedule for the first week or so.

Luckily the giveaway is right on time! πŸ˜€ This week I have a pretty necklace that would be especially nice to wear with earthy browns, bronzes, rusts, golds, warm oranges – the Thanksgiving colors! Of course, it’s really neutral enough to blend with a variety of colors in your wardrobe.

I used some lovely Czech glass beads in a shade of light brown that looks just like coffee with cream. The beads have a glossy finish and little splashes of dark brown and tiny hints of blue. For accents I added Czech glass faceted beads in a muted gold and a rich bronze.

The necklace measures 18-1/2″ long and it fastens with a heart-shaped, gold-plated, toggle clasp.

  1. Since I am a vegetarian, I would like a wonderful salad with garlic cheese bread and creme brulee. Thanks, Cindi

  2. Whether I write or type depends on whether I need to take the note with me. If it is directions or a shopping list, I prefer a pen, but if it is a phone number, an appointment, or a single address, I will type it.

  3. Yaaay! I made it, I made it! I’ve been so busy, I thought I’d miss the weekly questions!:D

But when I have to write a quick note to myself– and you can guess what that entails for me– I use a cheapjack little notepade I bought 3 for a dollar. Or a scrap of paper. I prefer my notebook.

If it’s a note to any other living being on the planet, it has to be typed. For lo, I am one of the legion of artistic illegibles. Even my signature isn’t legible from one occasion to the next. Look on my handwriting, ye mighty, and despair!

  4. I know what I want for dinner from my hypothetical magical chef! Cochinita Pibil, a dish from my favorite Mexican place that I don’t even think I’m spelling right. Stewed seasoned pork, served with plantain. Oh god, SO SO good, and I have no idea how to make it– certainly not to the delicate balance of flavor that my long-gone restraunt chef could. That’s what I want.

  5. definitely pen/pencil! if i write a shopping list on the computer, i would have to print that – double work (and waste of paper)! i usually just grab a peace of paper that has a clear side (thats recycling, i guess) and off i go!:)

  6. and for dinner – i would have a steak (for me its almost impossible to prepare a good steak at home – believe me, i tried:)) with some salad (with ruccola and pine nut) and watermelon for dessert:)

  7. If I’m just jotting something down quickly, I use whatever’s at hand, which is usually a pen and a post-it. However I guess the keyboard would be much more efficient- I type much faster than I write!

  8. Oh wow, I could only dream of having a personal chef. I’d probably ask them to make me something rich and delicious- pasta in cream sauce, French bread, red wine, and chocolate mousse for dessert. Judging by this, I’m glad I don’t have a chef because I’d weigh 500 pounds! πŸ˜‰

  9. I’d love a personal chef to cook me up some filet mignon, a side of asparagus, and raspberry and goat cheese spinach salad. Yum!

  10. It depends on what kind of note I’m making as to what I would use. Generally, if I’m at work and want to remember something at home or vice-versa, I’ll type out a quick email. Otherwise, I’ll write out a note by hand.

  11. When I jot a note down I use a pencil and usually the back of an envelope. Shopping lists I always write out by hand too.

  12. Even if I had a personal chef, I’m still kind of in the mood for a nice, juicy burger right now- the kind with pepper jack cheese, barbecue sauce, and fried onions on it.

Yeah, a personal chef is a bad idea…I’d gain a lot of weight.

  13. If I had a personal chef I’d ask him to make lobster with pasta, squash, fresh Italian bread and a chocolate torte cake.

  14. If I had a personal chef I’D ASK HIM TO make me all things pumpkin, because pumpkin makes me feel at home. Although I would want to cook with the chef, especially if he’s sexy.
