This week’s giveaway is a beautiful pendant that features a lampwork glass bead as its focal point. The bead is a shimmering pearly-white with delicate swirls of fuchsia and aqua! It’s accented with sparkling Swarovski crystals in a coordinating shade of fuchsia, and all of the metal components are sterling silver!
This pendant measures almost 2 inches in length, and has a generously sized bail so it should easily fit on a chain that you own. Or maybe you have a black cord, or you’ll buy a piece of satin ribbon and wear it high on the neck for a look that is trés chic!
Perfect for a holiday gift . . . if you can part with it! 😉

I love receiving the gifts that i pick out on my mom and daughter shopping trip. Every year we go to a couple cool stores and we each pick ut something we love, then we go out for lunch. Even though i already know what i am getting the anticipation of actually receiving it on xmas day is fun too:)
My favorite Holiday memory was when my little brother was born onDec.22 and my mom and him came home from the hospital on Christmas eve. The had him in a huge stocking:) and he was so cute and small!!
I try to make small gift baskets based on a person’s interests. My brother gets a nice mug filled with designer coffee and chocolate-covered espresso beans. My niece loves to write, so she gets a journal with an inscription and a nice pen. My mother is a gardener, so I hand-painted the handle of a trowel and tied it up with a pair of gardening gloves and a few packets of seeds. I find that a little creative packaging really goes a long way.
A thoughtful gift that doesn’t cost money..or a lot of money….I often tat a little heart or butterfly or other small motif and tuck it in a card to say I’m thinking of someone, or congratulating them, or thanking them, or cheering them on. It could be crocheted, or a cut out of something specific to the receiver – anything that says “this makes me think of you and I want you to know I’m thinking of you”.
I love receiving small luxury items like bath soaps and jewelry, because I never buy that sort of thing for myself. Silly-but-fun specialty kitchen appliances are also a big hit. I cannot tell you how much fun I have with the panini press I got for Christmas last year.
But what I’m really hoping for? After a year of stealing my boy’s Nintendo DS, I finally broke down and got one for myself. Now I want games!
My daughter and I make some sort of food item, like chutney or jam and give it to people for christmas. It is a gift of two kinds, for the recipient and one that allows Chloe and I to spend some quality time together.
For Christmas I would like something that comes from the heart. I would love to get away from the commercialism of this holiday and get back to the heart of it.
My favorite holiday memories would be when we would wake up christmas morning all eager to get downstairs. My brothers and I would go down to discover the cookies half eaten and the milk all gone. It was so exciting!
any handmade gift is thoughtful, but not all of them are inexpensive to make! my favorite thoughtful handmade gifts are the ones that my 2 year old and I do together, as gifts for others. we just made thanksgiving cards by tracing her hand… you all know the one… everyone loved it because it is made by her!

i like to receive picture gifts from others – frames, mini scrapbook albums, anything to document great memories!
one of my holiday memories (not sure how great it is…?) is from thanksgiving in kindergarten. my best friend just made a trip to the hospital because she got something small stuck up her nose. for whatever reason, i was a little envious, so i took a piece of indian corn and stuck a kernel up my nose! it took a while to get it out, but i didn’t need a trip to the hospital – fortunately!

My favorite teacher in elementary school taught math and had a desk full of wind up toys. At our holiday party the day before winter break, he staged a “Politically Incorrect Holiday Smackdown” wherein he turned a spare student desk into a battle arena for wind-up Santas, reindeer, dreidels and snowflakes. After a series of “practice battles” he had us calculate each toy’s win rate and make a prediction based on our findings. It was fun, ridiculous, educational, and festive. And the winner? The German Christmas Pickle, in a stunning upset.
i’m involved with online swapping. trading my handcrafted items with other crafters. i’ve been able to get a lot of nice, homemade gifts for family members this way.
gift that is thoughtful, but doesn’t cost a lot of money.
anything handmade.
kinds of gifts that you like to receive.
I like it when someone knows what I like and gets me something that I can use. If you know I love things that are practical, you’ll get me the right gift.
a favorite holiday memory from your early school years.
When I was in the third grade I went as miss America for Halloween. All the boys were teasing me when they heard and then I came out in my pretty dress and crown and they all did a double take. I always loved the costumes my mom made me b/c they always got a lot of comments.
I love to give handmade gifts. That is how I started my business. I started making them as inexpensive gifts for family and friends.

My fav memory was when I was like 6 and I came home upset cause we didn’t celebrate Christmas. We were Jewish and all the kids talked about how excited they were for Santa.. well after my mom calmed me down a day or two later I heard this thud on my window. Me being 6 and scared went and got my mom and told her I heard something.. Next thing I know I see all my present in the living room with my mom and dad saying the “Hanukkah Bird” had come. They did that every single year until I got married. Even though I was to old I always played along cause it was so cute.
I like receiving had made gifts from people, if I were to receive any at all. Christmas to me is all about the kids. The best present for me at Christmas is to have a fantastic dinner with my family.

My favorite memory as a child about christmas is the beautiful dresses my mom made for my sister and myself every year. When we woke up they were hanging on our portaits in the living room. Oh yeah, she made us nightgowns too and they were on our bed christmas eve. What a great tradition. =D
I always give out “coupons” for babysitting, car washes, etc with a dozen homemade cookies for a simple, frugal but well thought out gift.
I have been on the recieving end of thoughtful gifts and one I really appreciated was the gift of an afternoon of babysitting. It gave me time alone to do what ever I wanted.
My grandmother has dementia and it’s getting worse and she is the only grandmother I have left, the gift I would like to make for her is a beautiful scrapbook of all of the family members, my aunts , uncles, cousins, grandkids, great grandkids, she has 10 children all together, they had children and their children had children so there is at least 50 people all together, it’s a very big family and we don’t get together anymore for holidays . . .
I want to get the whole family together again to make these pictures and put them into the scrapbook and all of us present it to her on Christmas. She’s been wanting the family to put their differences aside and get together for holidays again and I hope this does the trick this will make her so happy.
The gifts I would like to receive is nothing but angels and maybe some perfume. I collect angels and I have them all over my house, that was my dream, to have a house filled with angels. But I would like to have some perfume, there is one certain kind I’ve been wanting really, really bad and that’s Harrajuku Lovers the scent I want is “Love”, there is 5 different scents and one of these days I will have all of them !!!! 🙂 I hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas and everyone gets what they wished for !!! HAPPY HOLIDAYS EVERYONE !!! 🙂
I don’t remember much of when I was in school but I do remember when I was about 13 my parents rented all of mine and my sisters presents from a rental place, they got us each new bedroom sets, 19in. color tv with a built in VCR, a Super Nintendo and boom boxes, but when my parents separated they took it all back. I will never forget that. 🙁 It was the best and worst Christmas ever. I know it’s not a school memory but…… technically, I was in school at 13. hee hee hee !!! 🙂
Watching someone’s kids while they go Christmas shopping is a great gift any mother would love.
I like knitting scarves for friends and family. It might take a little longer but makes for a nice warm gift during winter.
I often gift my time whether it be to the church, or to other family members this is often the best gift that I can give many people in my family. A date night out with a free baby sitter the young ones love, a clean house is something all of them love and I give my time at church because that is what I have most of.
I love to recieve most anything but often the ones that bring tears to my eyes are the ones that can not be replaced anything homemade or from a relative that is no longer here are the best for me.
I have a favorite teacher that made all fair for everyone not only was she diplomatic and allow us to elect the class leader once a week but also allowed us to be in committees. THis same class room teacher allowed us to position our desks in a sort of circle and place the christmas tree in the middle of the circle. What fun that was no one in the back of the room or any further away from the tree. This year we all made ornaments to put on the tree and listened to records during our christmas exchange party
I make up little personal baskets with their favorie cookies that I bake,a few coupons that are appropriate for each like a day of babysitting, cooking them a nice meal etc. and I add some free samples that I’ve sent away for all through the year.
The best gift I like to receive is when all my daughters take me on an all day outing just window shopping, having a nice lunch and just being together. I really appreciate that because I know they have to make special arrangements with all of them having babies at home.
My favorite holiday memory is an embarrassing one. We were having our Christmas play and we were little reindeer. We were suppose to gallop off the stage to have Santa follow us and I ran in the wrong direction. I was only 5 years old yet I still remember that.
My idea of a gift that is thoughtful is a quilt made from old clothing that has special memories.
Thanks.
I like to make and give cookie or brownie recipes in a jar as low cost, thoughtful gifts.
I like to receive gift cards, jewelry or kitchen gadgets.
My favorite memory is one of my sister and I stringing popcorn and candy to put on our tree.
A thoughtful gift would be something that is handmade! Im always touched by those…
I’ll love to receive gifts that are from the heart and something they handpicked themselves..
I went to disneyland with my mum and sis and we had a blast! It was the best holiday ever! It was 2 years back & i still have fond memories of that day..
Low cost present? I would buy a small to moderate-sized picture frame, use paper-cutout and decorate the border of the frame (remember what you did during elementary school with construction paper?), then compose a collage in Photoshop and print that out, crop it and put it inside the picture frame, present the present. 🙂
Most things that I need (or want) are high-cost electronics, so that’s not going to be what I end up getting. But, I like to receive books (fiction, non-fiction) that I can read when I have free time, or gift cards to somewhere.
I remember Valentine’s day in elementary school, where I have to go out and buy these valentine’s cards, and then put little pieces of candy in each envelope, and then give them to everyone.
i good inexpensive gift can be anything handmade…i like to make bookmarks jewelry.
i like to receive jewelry and DVDs of my favourite movies and tv shows as gifts.
one holiday memory is from halloween when i dressed up as a fairy. my parents stayed up all night making the entire costume by hand. i still hold on to that memory even now and will never forget it.
I like to have my daughter make a card on her own, and then I will make homemade fudge, cookies or other baked goodies-I enjoy doing it, and while I can’t spend lots of money at least the thought is still there!
gifts I would love to receive would be something handmade from my daughter, perhaps a nice pair of socks or a good book from family members and from hubby-a weekend of rest, with no cooking or household chores to be done that weekend, followed by some wonderful smell good body products for a nice bath!
I think that would be the time that you spend together <3
Being in a student house of lads most of the time we lived on take aways! Not a healthy lifestyle!
