Giveaway – Topaz Sky Earrings — 32 Comments

  1. Hi Crystal! My favorite candy is Lindt dark chocolate truffles…and I really love butter toffee too! (and marshmellows, rasberry jelly rings, chocolate covered nuts and raisins, peanut M&M’s…oh heck!…just set me free in candy store for about 10 minutes!) :o)

  2. Yes, I really like my handwriting. I had a 6th grade teacher, Miss Murphy, who was a stickler for good penmanship, and her own writing was sooo beautiful. By the end of the year, and many handwriting assignments, the entire class could write very nicely. :o) I always think it’s special to find a “real” card or note in my mailbox, and we should all know how to write, if not beautifully … at least legibly!

  3. Hi Sis

    Welcome Back!! CANDY!……yum

I have distinct loves in this line. Believe or not, I am not a huge candy fan. Don’t eat much of it. Maybe once every month or so…or longer.

#1 choice tied for a Chunky Bar and English Toffee from a candy store, but a Heath Bar would do in a pinch..Fanny May is my choice.

Chocolate covered peanuts (M & M) fit the bill if I need a quick pick up at work. The peanuts supply the protein needed to rejuvinate my brain.

HATE OTC candy bars like 3 Musketeers, Zag-nut, Milky Way.

  4. Hummmm. My handwriting. When I am not in a hurry or stressed out, I like my handwriting. However, most times I am writing I am too too busy and it can get sloppy.

  5. What is your favorite candy?

My favorite candy is Twizzlers. When I was living in Japan and England, I would beg my mom to send me Twizzlers, cuz I missed them so much!!

  6. Do you like your handwriting? And in this age of computers and cell phone texting, do you think itโ€™s necessary to teach students the art of good penmanship?

I think good penmanship is important. I know it’s a dying art, but I love sending real letters to people, and really, I am a bit embarrassed about my writing sometimes. It looks more like my dad’s chicken scratch than my mom’s beautiful teacher-cursive. I wish it was better! I’ve tried to go back and re-teach myself to write nicer, but I can’t get it. I would want my kids to learn right the first time around. I might have my mom teach them penmanship. ^_~

  7. I hate my handwriting and always have. Computers saved me.

But I still think it’s good to teach students the art of good penmanship. Just because I don’t like my handwriting doesn’t mean everyone feels the same.

  8. My favorite candy “used” to be Boston Baked Beans. Oh, what joy. Once the little store in the building where I used to work, had them for 25 cents a box. I bought all they had. And ate them all.

Now that I am almost 65, I don’t eat much candy but when I do indulge, my hand reaches for chocolate with nuts.

Love the earrings. Love how you have them displayed in your photo.

  9. Beautiful giveaway I have my fingers crossed that I win.My favourite candy is candy canes ,peppermint bark, and chocolate I could not pick just one.Marian

  10. My favourite candy would have to be tootsie rolls, or junior mints, or fuzzy peaches. Don’t make me pick one, please.

  11. I like my penmanship- it’s a crazy half handwriting/half printing mess that everyone I know can always recognise as mine. I’m 19, and have grown up in this technology ridden era, and I can’t say I like it very much-it’s so impersonal! I still write my friends letters every once in a while, and haven’t learned how to text, and never plan to.

  12. I have a huge sweet tooth and never met a candy didn’t like. I love caramel & chocolate, so Rolos are a favorite of mine.

  13. Yes I like my handwriting and have always gotten compliments on it. It is a pity that it is not emphasized in school anymore. I enjoy still sending notes and cards just like my mom.

  14. Okay, I just won recently, so I’m not really entering this week, but I wanted to tell you how lovely those earrings are!

My favorite candy is peppermint, and I love my handwriting, although I never write in cursive anymore, just a print font.

Crystal says: I’m so glad you commented, Wehaf! ๐Ÿ™‚

Thank you! This gives me the opportunity to encourage all previous winners to feel very comfortable leaving comments anytime, including right after a win!

Your comments are what encourage me to keep blogging!: ๐Ÿ˜€

  15. Hi!!!! I was on holidays and I has just found these incrediblea nd pretty earrings in your blog!!!!

I love all candies!!!!!! And I like my caligraohie and I think it’s necessary and beautiful teaching it at school… (I’m a teacher!!!).

    Hugs and kisses!!!!

  16. My favourite candy… I like Reese Cups, Salt Water Taffy, Sweedish Berries, Toblerone … the list goes on and on!

Thanks for the giveaway — these earrings are so pretty!

  17. I like my handwriting. I also like looking back in my old journals and seeing how it’s changed over the years — even just in the past five or six years. As a kid in school I used to get in trouble for doing pacman “e”s and “a”s that look like this: a

I think it’s so important for kids to learn good penmanship. For one it teaches fine motor skills and for another it makes everything more personalized. I love how you can tell one person from another from their penmanship.

You always have such interesting questions!

  18. I do like my handwriting, though it changes from time to time. I do think teaching penmanship is necesary, but to be honest all form of student teaching will most likely be technology based in the near future.

  19. I am a total sweet tooth…so i guess i’d say caramel chocolates are my favorite out of a whole long list of favorites.

  20. Do i like my handwriting?….i absolutely adore it…my parents used to attribute a lot of importance to neat penmanship and i guess i have inherited it from them. I love people who have nice handwriting, shows how level-headed they are. But, thats just what i think!

  21. My favorite candy is peanut butter fudge. Although these lovely earrings look like butter toffee.

  22. Yes, I think being able to write legibly is very important it’s of course very aggravating not to be able to read something . I do like my handwriting and feel it’s legible although I write less snail mail now in this age of email communicating.

  23. My third comment!…..i didn’t win the sea cruise giveaway….i hope i win this one!

    Hi Swati
I wish everyone could win every week! But, because this is a random drawing, it is just luck that a person wins. I know there are blogs where the best comment is the winner, but with all of the sweet comments that I receive on this blog – I could never choose one. So, that is why I use the random drawing method for a winner to be determined. Some of my long-time readers have commented for months before they ever won! All that being said though – I will cross my fingers for you, but you understand I must cross them for everybody!

  24. My handwriting is just ok, nothing special. It’s still important to teach kids though, my son’s handwritting is so bad, he can’t even read it himself!!
