Giveaway: Flirty Fuchsia Earrings — 59 Comments

  1. While I think about the recipe… I answer second question:
I know this one, teacher!!!!! I give up my TV!!! I couldn’t believe without my blogger friends!!!!!!!!!

Well, I wasn’t addicted to Blogger I ‘d have moretime spending reading good novels ( I love it) and crafting!!!!

    Kisses!

  2. I’m not a professional cooker nor a very good cooker… but I think “paella” is one of my star menu!!!!

    I’m specialized about fondues too… ;))!!!!!

  3. I commented the other day in another posts…isn’t it valid???? Thanks!!!! These earrings are elegant… I have a dress combining with them!

Crystal says: Yes, Janil, it does count! Thank you for an extra comment on Saturday! ๐Ÿ™‚

  4. Give up my computer? WHAT?????? I never say never, but I would be lost! How would I contact my cyber friends. How would I buy beads? I can’t give up Etsy, are Art Fire. Oh, I would be in depression for sure.

Give up TV? Can you watch the Closer on the computer? Or Saving Grace? Well, ok then, bye bye TV. Nice knowing you.

  5. When I was young, I was such a wonderfully diverse cook. My husband changed that. He likes plain, home cooking. You should have seen him the day I made Beef Stroganoff. Or Brazed Short Ribs. Or Brocolli, cheese, and rice casserole. No More. Sameo Sameo. Dinner for each holiday is at my house and each holiday has its own meal and heaven forbide I change the menu. Same guests, same menu and they all expect the same…mouths watering…waiting for the menu they have come to expect.

Other than that, I fly by the seat of my pants, always mixing it up and serving what I know certain guest like.

I am not modest when it comes to cooking. I come from a family of great home cooking cooks. Family restaurants have been in my family history going way back. I learned from the best, but not gormet.

  6. I love to make ginger chicken with lime rice noodles. It’s a flavorful dish, but with nothing too strange that people might object to. It’s fairly easy to make, and the cooking time is short. I’ll generally serve something chocoalte, like pudding parfaits or warm chocolate chip cookies topped with vanilla ice cream, for dessert.

  7. If I had to give up my computer and TV, I would probably read a LOT more. It would be more difficult for me to give up my computer- I only watch TV occasionally, but I’m on the internet very frequently.

  8. I like to make meatballs and gravy, mashed potatoes, breaded pork chops,
deviled eggs, olives, cranberry sauce and salad. We like to eat. Thank you!

  9. No tv or computer? I would start reading all those books I haven’t read yet. I cannot do without my computer though.

  10. Recipe… Bead Soup of course!
Seriously … Kashmiri Chicken, which is a mild, creamy curry dish with chicken, yogurt, sour cream, bananas, apricots, raisins, almonds, and of course all the wonderful curry spices. I serve it hot with rice, or mix the leftover curry & rice, run it thru the food processor just a bit, and chill it in a decorative (crown-shaped) mold. Unmold it, decorate the surface with “jewels” of red & green grape halves and pecans. Serve with crackers.

TV can leave the house at any time. I have no problem entertaining myself! Beading, villaging, cooking, gardening, making preserves, loving my critters (cats, dogs, goats, llama, swans, husband…) Reading, decorating, I’d start playing my bagpipes again!

  11. GORGEOUS earrings as always! Those would be a perfect pair for my new daughter in law who loves pink!!
So, my favorite dish to serve guests is grilled salmon! I love it barbequed during the summer, or broiled during the winter. Brush on butter with a little dill…yum!! I usually make rice pilaf and a vegetable..and I’m good to go!
Reading through all these comments is making me exceptionally hungry!

  12. I am an avid reader and a stamper and scrapbooker so I would have no problem staying entertained even without my computer and TV. Of the two, I would prefer to give up TV since I can still watch many TV shows on the computer!! Would this be cheating??!

  13. Left a comment on your Memories post. What an immediate blast back to the aluminum Christmas of my childhood!! We did have real trees most years, but then there were those infamous years of the Aluminum tree. So funny to be reminded of that.

  14. I would make chicken and broccoli casserole (with a bit of curry) with rice and extra veggies on the side! I also like ambrosia with marshmallows, mandarin oranges and pineapple mixed together with sour cream! Yum… Thanks for the giveaway.

  15. I think giving up the computer would be harder because you can still catch some shows via the internet (hehe). I would read more, do more crafty things, write more, talk on the phone more and play more board games with my kids. We’d go outside more (weather pending of course!). I like to think I have a good balance, but I’m sure I could do with less tv and computer time…

  16. Well, I like to serve vegetarian lasagna (okay… it’s not homemade, but very delicious! So I can thank Costco’s frozen section for that!), garlic bread, and a salad. And lots and lots of lemonade or ice tea.

  17. haha, giving up my tv or computer… hm. I would have withdrawal symptoms from giving up the computer. I can most definitely give up the tv, easy! but I would end up reading the long list of books that I said I would read, sew, and doing a lot more cleaning…!

  18. Oh boy now I will get hungry: Roast pork loin, pork gravy, mashed red potatoes, broccoli, biscuits from scratch, fruit salad, peach pie.

That would be what I serve to guests when i want to impress.

  19. Definitely giving up the computer would be harder–I get to keep watching DVD’s right? I don’t think that is cheating… Then I’d be OK. TV is second to the computer for me. Thanks for the opportunity to win these sweet earrings.

  20. Mmmm…for hors d’oeuvres I always start with stuffed mushrooms wrapped in bacon, along with spinach and artichoke dip with bread and pita. The bacon-wrapped mushrooms are perfect for the guys, and the girls go crazy over spinach and artichoke dip.

  21. Number two is easy – I’d read. I’m a reader anyways. I don’t even watch TV anymore, although I do watch DVDs on my computer, so I suppose the computer would be harder to live without.

  22. For a dinner a I would serve Chicken Divan, fresh fruit with yogurt on top and a salad, with French bread.

  23. I would give up my TV before I’d give up my computer! In my spare time without either, I would read, play board games, walk the dog and start a journal. Hummmm maybe I need to cut back on TV and computer time!

  24. The meal I would love to serve: from my childhood, roast beef, creamed corn souffle, creamed potatoes and peas, sunshine jello salad and crazy cake for dessert.

  25. Give up TV or computer? In a heart beat both would be easy to give up. I would spend all my waking hours in a book, on a walk or sitting and listening to nature. (Of course, I would have to get rid of my kids, husband and puppy and move to the forest! If only my dream would come true!)

  26. OOh, pretty sparkly earrings–and my favorite color too. I wanna win this. These are SO mine!!

Well, first of all, Crystal…you DON’T want me to cook–I am a danger in the kitchen!! My husband is the chef in the family!!! A summer cookout is always fun–with steaks, baked potatoes, and my FAVE, sweet corn on the cob. For snacks–my hubby makes some awesome guacomole (doesn’t really go with steak but yummy!!!)

  27. Oh, definitely the computer would be the harder of the two. I could give up the tv in a heartbeat but the computer–ACK!! My husband thinks it is attached to me.

What would I do with my time?? Again–easy to answer. READ!!! That is my favorite thing to do!!

  28. When I have guests for dinner we either BBQ, just throw some chicken, hamburgers or brats on the grill and have potato salad and chips, OR I make my aunts delicious lasagna with pepperoni and cottage cheese in it….SO good.

  29. It would be easier to get rid of my tv….whenever I have a question about anything I google it….I wouldn’t like not being able to do that, BUT…I would much rather read than either of them, so I would be fine ๐Ÿ˜‰

  30. When guests come I like to make Maple Glazed Salmon, rice pilaf, and spinach salad!

  31. If I gave up my T.V. and computer my house would be cleaner and I would read many more books. I think T.V. might be harder (I love reality shows!).

  32. If I gave up computer and TV… I would probably end up reading all of the books on my reading list that I’ve been putting off. And I’d find any and every excuse I can to go to concerts for entertainment. As for which one is harder to give up, definitely the computer, since I use it for both work and catching up on TV shows, as well as… everything else.

  33. For a casual dinner party, I think I’d serve a cheese-related dish of some sort- either fondue or Raclette. Have a loaf of delicious bread, some salad with a home-made vinegar based dressing, and voila! Excellent eating. I’d probably end the night by having some chocolate fondue, or a chocolate fountain.

  34. Lets say I was cooking an Easter dinner I would serve -Honey glazed ham, deviled eggs, mashed potatoes and a salad. For desert-Pecan carmel cake or banana pudding. thanks

  35. For entertainmentif if Ididn’t have a computer or tv. I would read or play cards. I would rather have a tv then a computer. I would miss some of my favorite shows like General hospital, the office and American idol just to name a few.

  36. TV would be easier to give up these days – there are so many shows you can watch online now!

  37. Ooohhh…That earring’s one of my favourites! I’m crossing my fingers…
I’ll answer the second question. If I had to give up TV and computer, I’ll most probably participate in sports events for entertainment, or have a family day once a week, or maybe indulge myself in a pile of good books!

  38. No tv or computer? I would go out and meet all kinds of people to keep myself entertained. A computer would be very hard for me to give up though ( :

  39. Well it looks like I will be having “My Boys” over for dinner tonight, Usually once a week the Boys I used to work with for 5 years come to dinner, they are 19-23 married and single. They all love a home cooked meal, Tonight is Enchiladas, Cheese and Beef, Mexican Corn Casserole, and Rice.. Dessert is Make your own Sundaes.. Thanks!

  40. Hmmm Giving up the Television would be very easy for me, I don’t watch much. The computer I could give up, if I have too.
Instead of Television I could read(alreadydo that), spend even more time with friends and family, take a walk, we could play cards, play games.
If I gave up the Computer I would have to begin writing letters again. I have a huge family, My aunts, uncles, cousins and some friends live 400 miles away. We keep in contact with a family blog, and emails, and phone calls. Without the computer I would go back to Snail Mail, cards and letters. Wouldn’t be bad.. just different. Thanks!

  41. I have no idea what this is call but I love it. it’s a good summer lunch you take a slice of french bread put some pesto sauce on it, then add vegies. like muschrooms, tomatoes avocado, pinenuts and add some havarti cheese and pop it in the oven till it melts. yum
