Giveaway – Plum Blossoms Earrings

party-hatsToday I’ve reached a bit of a milestone. This is my 100th post! πŸ™‚

It’s fun that it just happened to fall on a Monday – the day I post my new weekly giveaway. Seems a good way to celebrate!

Speaking of fun, a very bright young lady named Aik recently asked if she could “interview” me for her blog. I was delighted to accept and I really enjoyed answering her thoughtful questions. If you’d like to see the interview, drop by Aik’s blog!

Now on to this week’s giveaway:

Plum Blossoms Earrings in Purple and Rose

These earrings are so sweet. The photo doesn’t capture how pretty they are in person!

I’ve used beautiful and intricate polymer clay floral beads, which were created by the very talented Cheryl Harris.

The polymer clay beads are embellished with gorgeous 3-dimensional flowers and leaves in fabulous shades of plum purple, rose pink, and lavender!

For accents, I’ve added sparkling Swarovski amethyst aurora borealis crystal beads; and all metal components and findings are sterling silver!

Measurements: 1-5/8″ long (including the sterling silver earwires).

Giveaway – Plum Blossoms Earrings — 69 Comments

  1. I repeat!!!!!!

    These earrings are lovely!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My children make me laugh!!!!! See them laughing and enjoying… and speaking with naturality… (something that adults can’t do, or only a few!).

  2. The world… it’s more dangerous. I hate become serious but i can’ hear the news on TV sometimes… I’m afraid of them! more than from a good thriller!!!!!!!!

    Well… I repeat if I can… of course!!!! πŸ˜‰

  3. I comment on your great quotation (I don’t know if it’s necessary writing it here…sorry!).

    Have a nice week!

  4. Wonderful earrings! AND my favorite color!!

My husband makes me laugh! Everyday. When people ask me how we have stayed married for 37 years..I answer “He makes me laugh”. One of his most enduring qualities. I love him so much for it. It warms my heart just to think about it.

And watch the movie Little Miss Sunshine. You will either hate it or laugh you a** off! It makes me laugh..alot!!

  5. 10 year old..OMG. This is a sad society now. Things are harder for kids. Less supervision. More bad examples of everything, from tv shows to parents, to learn. That’s the extreme I know. But my 13 and 11 year old grandsons live with me. Hard for me to believe that 11 year old kids are using drugs, bringing weapons to school and being tried as adults. Poor kids.

On the other hand, at the other end of the spectrum, so many parents are focused on family now. Though both parents must work in many cases, so many try to spend more time with their children than parents of my era did. Children are no longer “seen and not heard”.

And, we haven’t even talked about the changes in kids lives due to technology. We could just go on and on about the differences..but we are talking about a 50 year span here, too.

    I’m gettin old-er.

  6. What makes me laugh? Watching the antics of the 6 week old Guide Dog puppy we are training! He’s absolutely adorable!

  7. I was 10 many moons ago! We went on family trips to the lake, the zoo, the park, hiking in the mountains. We spent every minute possible outside, rarely in front of our three channel TV. My kids hate “hippy” trips and want to be hooked to a monitor the majority of the time. Boy are they missing life!

  8. They have cell phones,computers,video games,violent tv,violent movies,they
hear people swearing, hear about crime, have dvd’s I could go on and on. Yes
things are a lot different then when I was 10.

  9. Being a 10 year old today is much more complicated and it is so easy to get off on the wrong path and be involved with things far too mature for the age.

  10. The world is so much more digital and advanced, at age 10 kids are playing with and using computers, I wouldn’t have known how to turn one on at that age!

  11. these are so pretty!
#1 being with my housemates always makes me laugh. best bunch of people ever!

  12. First of all – the craftsmanship in the photo of the earrings looks outstanding!
WHAT MAKES ME LAUGH – My Siberian Husky, when he’s “singing pretty”

  13. #2 hmm. ten-year-olds today seem to grow up faster… i remember being wide-eyed and innocent; those i see today… aren’t.

  14. I love the color purple. My favorite color!! I would have to say my 3 dogs make my laugh. If I did’nt have my pets it would be so boring. It’s so funny the little dog Jasper runs the group. Thanks Diane

  15. HOW IS BEING A TEN YEAR OLD NOW DIFFERENT THAN WHEN I WAS 10
Well, I was 10 in 1968 – we actually PLAYED, and most of the time it was OUTSIDE, where it was safe….now days, kids don’t even know how to or want to “play” – all they seem to want to do is hang out in front of a video game or computer…
    It’s really sad….

  16. Jennifer’s Post about her puppy – “What makes me laugh? Watching the antics of the 6 week old Guide Dog puppy we are training! He’s absolutely adorable!”

I just love how dogs each have such a unique personality – and how they just know nothing but unconditional love…

  17. My boyfriend make a point to make me laugh everyday until my sides hurt! Anything from dancing, talking in funny voices or wrestling with me.

  18. A 10 year old today seems a lot more informed about news, the enviroment, and technology.

  19. 10 year olds today probably know a lot more then I did. Children are growing up to fast and missing out on childhood.

  20. Hi Crystal, those earrings are gorgeous! What makes me laugh is when my fiance buys candy “for me” but ends up eating most of it himself.

  21. I think 10 year-olds now are a little bit more coddled. My sister overheard a little boy complain, “My parents don’t trust me. I have to carry a cell phone and $40 everywhere I go.”

I wish I had $40 in my pocket all the time! =)

  22. My twins that are one year old make me laugh. Also my 4 year old misusing words.

    Stacy

  23. In one way kids have ALWAYS been the same down through history. The world around them is so much different now….sad…

  24. How do you think being a ten-year-old today is different from when you were ten years old.

Hmm…This is a tough question. If I’m a ten-year-old girl today, I won’t be as cheeky as I am when I was ten years old. I will be more considerate and polite. I will think twice before I say anything so that I won’t hurt others’ feelings. That’s all, I think…XD

  25. My boyfriend makes me laugh! He’s like Rich Little and can do different voices. He can cheer me up if I am having a bad day. thanks

  26. Being a ten yr old today is different, because there are more pressures such as drugs and sex. And girls start wearing makeup alot earlier too..When I was ten,I don’t remember much drugs at all and we couldn’t wear makeup until we were about 14.

  27. I commented on “Her Irish eyes.” thanks By the way, these earrings are beautiful in the giveaway!

  28. My animals make me laugh, mostly our Shar-pei dog Bear, who most definitely looks like a Black Bear:)

    Congratulations on 100 Posts!!!
    Cheers to 100 More:)

  29. Ten year olds today have way more electronics like computers, ipods video games and other gadgets that we could only dream about!

  30. GREAT giveaway! These are beautiful…and congrats on your 100th post!! I would say, children definitely make me laugh – whether it be my 4 year old or the elementary aged kids I work with – they’re so honest and just plain funny! Like when my son asked if he would get bigger than me – and if I would still love him. When I told him I would love him no matter what, he said, “Mommy, don’t worry. I’ll love you no matter what too. Even if you get big. I mean really really really big. Like bigger than daddy big”…lol…love my little boy! πŸ™‚

  31. I’ve worked with ten year olds for ten years now and most of them are forced to grow up MUCH faster than we did. The world in general as well as the demands of extra-curriculars, life-circumstances, homework/school overload. It’s actually a little sad. Kids need time to be kids!!

Of course, on the brighter side – they also have many more opportunities than we did. The world of technology and advances – hopefully it inspires them to create and become things we would have never imagined.

  32. First of all, CONGRATS on reaching 100!!! WOO HOO! YAY!!

What makes me laugh? Oh…a silly screwball romantic comedy (you know those good OLD ones that play on TCM?? OR just plain SILLY movies like any of the Vacation movies with Chevy Chase–I have seen them all a bazillion times but they always make me laugh. Seeing kids or animals just being free and silly will be sure to give me a giggle or two.

  33. BTW, forgot to comment that these earrings are just GORGEOUS. Keeping my fingers and toes crossed that I win this one πŸ™‚

How are 10 years different today from when I was ten years old?? (Hmmm…let me think back when I was ten years old….geez…well…since that was SO long ago–back before the internet (gasp!! cell phones, and PCS…I don’t even think Atari was around yet–LOL!! Nope…it wasn’t. So, as you can see life was very BORING (LOL).

Actually, I think that today’s ten year must grow up a lot faster. They are bombarded with images of sex and violence constantly (and that is just going out into the world!!) I mean, seriously, just turning on the news–VIOLENCE….report after report after report. So, today’s world is much different. Also, they spend TOO much time on the computer/Gameboy/whatever?? They need to be outdoors or playing boardgames with family like we used to. (What happened to family game nights? Let’s bring them back!!)

Kids just have to grow up too fast. Plus, my friend has a kid in kindergarten–KINDERGARTEN and this little girl has TONS of homework–HOMEWORK In kindergarten???? That is just crazy!!! We didn’t have homework until–I don’t know–I don’t remember really doing any until maybe 2nd grade–doing some math homework.

    Sigh.

I could go on–but we all get the gist. It was SO much easier when we were kids.

  34. The local radio show ” Morning Rush with Chico and Delamar” always makes me laugh ( :

  35. Children and the things they say is what makes me laugh. As they say, “From the mouths of babes.”

    The earrings are beautiful.

  36. I believe that life is harder for 10 year olds these days. They have to grow up so much faster. Life seems to be much more faster paced, the family time there use to be I don’t think is there any more for a lot of kids, most families have both parents working, if there is two parents, they just don’t seem to have much time to be kids anymore before they are expected to be “grown up” so I don’t think life is as fun for them now days. Also, far far more is expected of them in school now. They have to learn things much sooner than ever before. Kids don’t get to be kids anymore and they don’t seem to know how anymore. That is part of my opinion of life these days for 10 year olds and all other ages.

  37. A baby’s laughter makes me laugh – I don’t even have to know the baby, if I see him/her laughing, I just join right in!

  38. Ooooooh… lovely earrings!!! They’re “whimsical” πŸ™‚

Lots of things make me laugh… most of the time it’s my husband (he makes faces ALL the time) or my boss (rather, I try to make my boss laugh and I end up amusing myself!)
