I’m A Little Bit Vintage

Raise your hand if you remember Donny and Marie? πŸ˜‰

And their theme song?

You know —

She’s “a little bit country”; He’s “a little bit “rock and roll”.

C’mon Kids… please say you know what on earth I’m talking about, here.

(For you youngsters in the group – it’s Donny and Marie Osmond!)

I can hear you asking: “Surely there’s a point to this, Crystal???”

Why, yes. Of course! πŸ˜‰

If I were to join the chorus along with good ole Donny and Marie, I’d be singing: “I’m a little bit “vintage”.

I’m not referring to my age – though I suppose that’s a good adjective to describe it. I mean that I have a passion for all things vintage – beads, jewelry, books, accessories, china, furniture, etc.!

This week, I took some time to play with a pretty bunch of Vintage Swarovski Rhinestones and Cabochons. I combined them with some vintage-look findings and quick as a wink – I had 3 pairs of earrings!

Sapphire Blue – such sparkle on these vintage rhinestones!

Amethyst purple – my favorite color! Love that marquise-shape stone.

And Swarovski Glass Cabochons in Smoked Topaz Aurora Borealis. Talk about a rainbow of colors!

If you were to chime in with Donny and Marie…. how would you fill in the blank?

“I’m a little bit “_______”.

Hugs,

  1. I remember watching Donnie and Marie with my mom. My dad was on the night shift so we watched it together. Thanks for bringing back those great memories.
If I was to fill in the blank it would be stressed and nuts. Finals are next week. Then I can breathe again.
I also love antiques and vintage items. I have over 200 cast iron pans and the last one was made in the 1950’s. My cast iron cake molds were displayed in a museum for a year.
I love all of the earrings but if I had to pick a favorite it would be the purple ones. They are just beautiful.

  2. Hi Kelly,
What a wonderful collection of you cast iron you have! It must have been an absolute thrill to have your cake molds on display in a museum.

Sorry to hear you are in the middle of finals preparation. I know that is stressful!
Can’t wait to hear that you have finished all of them. Then you’ll have the rest of May still ahead to enjoy! πŸ™‚

  3. Funky. Yep, I’m a little funky and lots of other things! I saw Donny in Chicago in Joseph And The Amazing Technicolor Coat..the play was great.
Love your chandeliers. You the bomb!!
    xx, Carol

  4. Such beautiful earrings, Crystal! I just love those dainty dangles, but the Cabochons are just as pretty. You always make such lovely things!!!

Like Marie, I’m a little bit country. Old time country is best, so I guess I’m a little bit vintage too! ;D

    Have a great week, sweetie!

    xoxo Paulette

  6. “crazy”,although i get away with “eccentric” as the brit married into an arabic family lol.I think of “vintage” as being anything before i was born πŸ™‚
Love the purple earrings but then thats one of my fav colours πŸ™‚

  7. Hi there, Michelle
It’s nice to know that you love purple, too. πŸ™‚ Thanks for the compliment on my earrings! xo

  8. I love the last two pix.
Can you be a little bit vintage and a little bit Beach. I love both.

  9. Hi Clenna πŸ™‚
    Definitely!
I’m right with you on a little bit “beach”.
I feel like I was born on the beach – or at least I grew up there.
