Grape Jelly

It was a quiet weekend, so I had a little time to design a necklace/earring set with some vintage lucite beads that I absolutely love!

Yes, they’re purple – you know that I just can’t resist purple!

In my defense, I must say that I’ve been pretty good about making things in other colors, lately . . . Really!

The beads here are an especially rich, translucent, “grape jelly” purple with little clouds of white swirling through them. So gorgeous!

This set is now available in my shop. ๐Ÿ™‚

Or maybe you’d like to make your own design with the grape jelly beads! You can find them here!

What did you do over the weekend? ๐Ÿ™‚

  1. Hubs and I rode our Harley on the backroads of Illinois, yesterday. There was fields on one side of the road and water on the other. We saw alot of Great Blue Herons in the water and turtle hanging out on the logs. Pretty day for a ride, and then we went to the winery and got a bottle of wine for dinner that night. The raspberry kiss wine is a great dessert wine that goes wonderful with chocolate. I hope everyone had a great weekend.

I love the beads, and I’m a big fan of purple too. Its nice that it goes with my skin tone, because I love all the plums and burgandy colors in the fall and winter. The lighter purples are great for the summer and spring.

This week we celebrate National Cupcake Day on the 18th and ‘Black Cow’ Root Beer Float Day on the 19th. Enjoy everyone!!!

  2. Kelly: do you have a blog? If so, I’d love to visit.

That Black Cow day is right up my alley. I love how you let us all know what interesting “days” are coming up.

I hope everyone looks at and sees the quality of your work. Yes, the grape beads are beautifully strung. But the little elements you add, like a bead cap on top and bottom of each bead, are part of what makes your work unique and quality. I was just looking closely this morning and wanted to call that to everyones attention.

Every one have a great day!!

  3. Oh what a gorgeous set, Crystal! Those grape jelly beads are absolutely scrumptious! I love that shape combination and those little golden bead caps are sooo pretty against the purple! Just beautiful!!!

We had a little get together for Frank’s birthday. It was fun, but the cooking was a bit much! So much for trying a new recipe when company’s coming!

Have a fun day, sweetie, and try to keep cool! ๐Ÿ˜‰

Week end – Saw a hockey game (grandson #1) and a football game (grandson #2)

  6. Oh I forgot, I went to a consignment shop in Meredith, NH and bought a beautiful Amethyst ring.

  7. What a pretty set! I love it (and I’m a big purple fan!!)
I’m trying to think of something I did the past weekend, or any of the last several weekends, but I’m coming up blank! That’s kind of sad… I think I straightened up my craft supplies at some point, not that you could tell now… ๐Ÿ˜‰
