This week’s giveaway is a beautiful pendant that features a lampwork glass bead as its focal point. The bead is a shimmering pearly-white with delicate swirls of fuchsia and aqua! It’s accented with sparkling Swarovski crystals in a coordinating shade of fuchsia, and all of the metal components are sterling silver!
This pendant measures almost 2 inches in length, and has a generously sized bail so it should easily fit on a chain that you own. Or maybe you have a black cord, or you’ll buy a piece of satin ribbon and wear it high on the neck for a look that is trés chic!
Perfect for a holiday gift . . . if you can part with it! 😉

I’m gifting handmade things this Christmas. The babies in my life will receive a few knitted toys each. With inexpensive cotton yarn [easily washable and nommable for the mama’s and babies], these don’t cost that much to make. But love for the lil ones goes into every stitch. 🙂
As far as gifts I like to receive.. it’s difficult to narrow down into a specific category. I love jewelry, especially necklaces. Even better are necklaces from Etsy – you can find so many amazing things there. I also love yarn and yarn-related things. ^_^
A gift that is thoughtful but doesn’t cost a lot of money – for my grandparents I made mix cd’s of all of their favorite music from when they were teenagers. It was cheap to do off of iTunes, and they LOVED it.
Gifts I like to receive – jewelry that I would never buy myself (too expensive or too flashy). I usually end up loving it!
Favorite holiday memory – St. Patrick’s day. The “leprechaun” would visit our house and leave soda bread and gold coins.
A thoughtful, economical gift I like to give is to have my daughter decorate a wooden picture frame ($1 at Michaels) with beads, stamping, glitter, whatever. Then we usually put a picture of her with grandma (or whoever the gift is for) in it.
Something that is thoughtful that doesn’t cost alot is family coupons, where you offer to help around the house, or cook a meal for someone, a free night of babysiting, or whatever else you can think of, these are nice gifts that kids can make for parents too, and offer to help with dishes, or rake the leaves outside. Thanks for entering me this pendant is so pretty!
I like to receive homemade items, pictures and gift cards to the bookstore.
I love receiving handmade gifts, it shows that someone put effort into it, even a handmade card is so special, and I always treasure those alot.
My favorite memory from school was making handprints out of cemant (or plaster of paris) My dad still has the one I gave him for christmas when I was in 1st or 2nd grade, and its fun to look back at and see how tiny my hand was back then!
I remember how we had a neighborhood Easter egg hunt when I was a kid. The whole block participated and we trampled through everyone’s yards looking for chocolate eggs. It was a blast.
1. I like to make handmade gifts for my friends and family. I’m a crocheter, so I like to make scarves, bags, etc. Sometimes I like to add a handmade item from another crafter, too; like making a crocheted wash cloth and adding handmade soaps.
The best gifts to receive are ones that are surprising and personal. I especially like to get gifts from my kids that they made or picked out themselves.
I used to like Valentine’s day when I was in school, because we all made cards for each other. Of course, that was back in the day when they still HAD holiday parties at school.
definitely Feed it Forward through restaurants.com. It’s a thoughtful gift certificate that is totally free! 🙂
I love to receive pretty trifles that I normally wouldn’t buy myself because they aren’t necessary purchases.
My favorite holiday memory is coming back from church on Christmas Eve and there being a bunch of presents under the tree…and the weird thing is my parents weren’t the ones who did it so it kept the magic alive! 🙂
my favorite holiday memory from my early school years was making and decorating gingerbread houses every year.
I buy presents year round so I can find thoughtful gifts (thinking of what the individual person really needs or wants) for less money that way. I agree homemade gifts are also special.
A thoughtful and inexpensive gift that I like to make is a nice big mug filled with homemade treats – fudge, or shortbread…and done up with nice celophane and ribbons.
The kinds of gifts that I like to receive – this year 0’d like to receive things that i really need – not necessarily fancy thigns that i wouldn’t normally buy – i’m trying to buy less – so just the necessities this year!
I like to receive gifts that reflect me and also my relationship with that person ie: getting a favourite movie from a friend who you saw it with.
My favourite Christmas tradition as a teen was walking in the snow with my family to the old church a few blocks away for the candlelight service and then hearing the bells ring afterward.
I love to do crafty things with candid photos. Sometimes I use paper, stamps, etc. to create a frame, slip a photo in, and attach a magnet.
For grandparents, I have my son paint a picture and then use it to wrap their gifts.
I think something handmade even if it is small, like a knitted hat, or an embroidered hankie, is a meaningful and thoughtful gift, because it shows you were willing to spend time on this person.
I like gifts that are handmade or heirloom
My favourite holiday memory is ice skating outdoors with my grandfather at Christmastime.
My proudest thoughtful gift was filling a blank journal with pictures, written thoughts, and little mementos (tickets, etc.) that were relevant to the person I was giving it to, or to experiences we shared.
I cut paper snowflakes for my friends and residents/staff at area nursing homes…such a small gesture but the people are so nice and hang the snowflakes in the windows and from the ceilings. sometimes, when i’m out driving around town, I see the snowflakes (that I sent) in the windows and it is fun!
A favorite Holiday memory at school is singing in music class…I especially liked the Christmas carols, and patriotic songs. I remember the patriotic songs well, we learned so many.
I love to receive gifts that are related to my gardening hobby…, gift cards to nature centers, birdfeeders , flower catalog gift certificates… Right after Christmas I start dreaming about my spring and summer garden ideas!
one gift idea that doesn’t cost a lot of money is giving the gift of time, meaning that you offer up your time to someone in order to help them out. helping babysit, taking care of their kids….
i like to receive gifts for my running hobby or cooking
A thoughtful gift is always something from the heart. I took some old photographs of my husbands grandparents and put them in some antique frames and then gave them to him at Christmas (they were of his grandparents both receiving their first communions–talk about BEAUTIFUL pictures–and I then I found some really pretty frames at a second hand store and then got the rest of the supplies at the craft store. It didn’t cost a lot but the smile and love my husband showed afterwards was PRICELESS 🙂
A thoughtful gift that doesn’t cost a lot is to give coupons good for a service that you would provide that would be useful to the recipient, e.g. babysitting for a family with young children, car washes for a busy dad, cleaning or yard work for an older relative or neighbor or any busy person who could use the help, a hot meal, etc.
I remember in the third grade when we picked names for a secret santa at school. We left nice notes for the person whose name we chose. It was always fun to see if I’d get a note each day and what it would say. And it was fun trying to figure out who my secret santa might be. Cost nothing, involved no material items, but was a lot of fun!
I like to receive gifts that show someone remembered something about me. Like if I mentioned months before Christmas that I liked a certain kind of thing and my friend got me one of those. Or something that shows the giver really matched a gift up to me and didn’t just give everyone on their list the same thing. It’s not always easy to come up with those kind of gifts, but when I receive one, it’s very special!
I love gifts that show a person really knows me – referencing something small I might’ve mentioned once, or catching onto a recent interest of mine. Those always make me feel appreciated!
Homemade notecards! Everyone can use them, but they take a long time to make and do a good job. Thanks for the giveaway!
I have on several occasions given 1 or 2 issues of a magazine the recipient likes to read but might not buy themselves, along with their favorite snack food and beverage.
The best gifts someone can give me are ones that indulge the word nerd in me — Scrabble bracelets, a tote bag with a wordle cloud on it, etc.
my favorite thoughtful but inexpensive gift to give is a scrapbook. i make small 6×6 books for friends and relatives who have either gotten married of had a baby. it’s a gift that comes straight from the heart and lasts forever! i’ve made them for the births of my niece and nephews and they love to look back at the books as they grow up. all it takes is some photos, paper, and creativity!
my favorite gifts to receive are anything handmade. i love the fact that someone put time and energy into making me a gift…it makes it extra special!
i remember one year for christmas my parents got ice skates for me & my brother….after all of our gifts were open, my dad brought us out back and pulled back a big blue tarp that covered a good portion of our lawn. underneath was an “ice rink” he had created for us. it was bumpy and lumpy and uneven, but me & my brother spend hours and hours skating and laughing and enjoying our new skates. that is one of my favorite christmas memories 🙂
a great book that you have already read…you can pass it on to share the good read! =)
i think handmade things make really thoughtful gifts because the person has put in a lot of time and thought into making it. anything from baked goodies to handmade cards are super easy and cheap to make!
i love to receive things like clothing, beauty/bath products, jewelry, my favorite perfume. books, DVDs…i can be a very easy person to please!
my fave holiday memory is making cards for my parents in art class when i was very young. they still have them all…from mother’s day, father’s day, xmas, thanksgiving, etc. i love that they kept them. i look at them from time to time and can’t believe how innocent and precious those days were. being an adult is not as much fun!
A thoughtful gift I made one year was a decopagued picture frame with quotes and things around it personalized for the one I gave it to. You can do that for any loved on, then insert a picture of you with them, or your family. (To make it even cheaper…buy a frame from the thrift store).
Pretty pendant!
I took a great class(books are available too)on making my own Bath and Body Products. It is very inexpensive to make great Aromatherapy items like Bath Salts and Lip Balms. Learning to make Candles with melt and pour wax and recycled glass jars is also quick, easy and special:)
