Giveaway – Gift of the Nile Earrings

giftwrapAs always, thank you so much for your warm and witty comments last week! You had me pretty hungry as I read some of those menus you’d request from a personal chef! I guess most of us will never have that luxury, but it sure is fun to imagine, don’t you think? πŸ™‚

For this week’s giveaway, I have a flirty pair of dangle earrings! I am simply crazy about the vintage lucite beads that I used in this design! They’re a mouth-watering shade of bright blue – somewhere between lapis and cobalt. It’s that deep, rich blue that you might see in an ancient exhibit at the art museum. Cleopatra and King Tut loved cobalt blue, you know! πŸ˜‰

Gift of the Nile Earrings

These earrings feature vintage coin shaped beads that have flecks of glittery gold under their surface. Then there are cone shapes – which have a lustrous iridescence that shimmers when they catch the light! For accents, I’ve added tiny gold-colored Czech glass faceted rounds and gold-plated bead caps. The artisan crafted, petal-shaped earwires are 14k gold filled.

Overall measurement is a very showy 2-3/4″ in length.

Giveaway – Gift of the Nile Earrings — 51 Comments

  1. The biggest benefit from the internet in my life is the great blog friends that I have met. Finding people with like interests and keeping in touch with them through email is the first thing that comes to mind.

Easy access to information is a close second.

Then, there is the down side. The only one that comes to mind is the Bedazzled Jewels game on Facebook.

    Have a great day Crissy
    XX, Carol

  2. Unfortuneately, my 40+ hour job can be prety stressful. Easy, calm days are few and far between. With 2 teen boys at home, life at home can be pretty busy too.

After supper, dishes etc. I like to sit in my recliner with feet up and do some type of lap work…beading, crochet or reading. That’s if Terry is there. If not, I am lucky to have my own room that some would call a studio/office. Get a cup of coffee, close the door and find something to interest me at the time, or play that darn jewel game on Facebook.

  3. The Internet has benefited my life through so many ways- I’ll say my main reason is being able to keep in touch with family and friends, that I normally don’t get to see often, through the click of a button! It also makes it much easier to share photos, etc!

  4. After a tough day, I like to enjoy a bubble bath, some mood music, a glass of wine and a good book πŸ™‚

  5. My life has benefited from the internet by making instructions and information about my favorite things at my finger tips. Yes, the library is great, but they don’t have much on what I love, beading, polymer clay, wirework, etc.

  6. I love to read at the end of every day. It really relaxes me so I don’t take my troubles to bed with me!

  7. How has your life most benefited from the Internet?

SO many ways… I found work here, friends here, support here, get to enter contests, find great ideas for cleaning or crafts or thriftiness, save money with coupons, it goes on and on!

  8. How has your life most benefited from the Internet? Lot of good friends around the world. And good crafting ideas and tutorials

  9. I have learned so much about many aspects of life that I didn’t realize existed! I enjoy visiting blogs like yours and love handmade items.
There are so many talented people and I can purchase unusual gifts
for friends and family. Thanks, Cindi

  10. During this time of year, I sit by our fireplace with a good book and a hot drink!
    Thanks, Cindi

  11. My biggest benefit from the internet is reconnecting with family abroad. It’s easy to loose touch but the internet helps stay connected.

  12. Two great benefits for me. One is I get to see my grandson via Skype, who lives in another region and I don’t see him but once a year but on Skype I see him all the time. So we get to build a relationship.
Two- I have reconnected with friends from high school and that’s been fantastic.

  13. After a long day I have a bubble bath ,herbal tea,and light some scented candles. Great giveaway. Thanks helen

  14. This isn’t an entry, because I won recently, but my life has most benefited from the internet in allowing me to do research quickly and effectively, and to keep up with new research results.

  15. I think I knoooow every thing now. or at least, I can know every thing from the internet. I can keep in touch with friends all over the world, or make new ones. Can’t live without πŸ™‚

  16. Wow, that’s like asking “How has your life benefited from the ability to understand symbols?”. The internet is how I get everything in life! It keeps me in touch with friends, helps me make and find friends, brings to me art and information I would never hear of otherwise; I got through college on the internet! But the single overall thing it does best, I suppose, is keep me connected with human community. I’m pretty much an invalid, and the internet is my tie to the world in those times when I can’t leave the house. For about two years, it was my only evidence that there was anyone living in the present besides me, my husband, and my mom. The internet is my lifeline, and when I give thanks for it at the holiday table, there’s not a bit of irony there.

  17. After a long day…can’t you guess?

    I get on the internet.;)

Well, specifically TV Tropes. Don’t go there! You’ll lose weeks of productivity! But it is so soothing, to soak in the endless pool of cultural exzamination and geeky references. Aaaaah….

  18. Two things to relax:
I BREATHE deep, and exhale completely in the process.

I imagine a beautiful forest with green and water everywhere.

  19. Hi Crystal! You must have the most beautiful jewelry wardrobe, and something wonderful to match your every outfit too!!! These earrings are just delicious! I love that gorgeous blue and gold combo. πŸ˜‰

I’ve met the most wonderful people through the Internet. That’s how I’ve most benefited. I only wish we all lived close to one another!

    Hugs, Paulette πŸ˜‰

  20. I love to sit in the sunroom, with a good magazine, like Martha Stewart Living or Country Living, and dream away….I also love my crafty corner, where I can play and be creative, that’s relaxing! Snuggling up with a kitty is always nice too! Hugs, Paulette πŸ™‚

  21. The Internet has most influenced my life by providing a world of knowledge at my fingertips. It has also allowed me to work at home, as well as establish enriching relationships and connections from all over the world.

  22. If I am truly stressed, I soak in a warm bath. Other de-stressers I rely on is a big ice cream cone or cup of flavored hot chocolate. If the weather permits, walking the dog at night also helps.

  23. I love the Internet. From my first experiences with email, I have been hooked. I always enjoyed connecting with people by mail and email made that so easy and instant. It has opened me up to many new things that I never would have experienced without the Internet. Thank you.

  24. My favorite thing to do to unwind is watching old classic movies on Turner Classic Movie Channel. It is my favorite thing to do. It is a great way to learn about what the American people experienced though the difficult times of the Great Depression and World War II. There was a huge need for inexpensive entertainment and diversion from the difficult times the nation was going through. Thank you.

  25. It’s hard to pick between these two: I have been able to find employment through the Internet, but another way it has been helpful is to be able to connect with like-minded parenting groups. I’ve gotten so much wisdom through mothering sites.

  26. I know this sounds odd, but I relax by making dinner. I find it relaxing to repetitively chop vegetables or stir the contents of a pot.

  27. I would not have alot of new friends if not for the internet. Everything right at my fingertips is a great thing.

What I do to unwind at the end of the day…I let my husband deal with the kids till they go to bed πŸ™‚

  28. How has your life most benefited from the Internet?
I’ve met SO MANY amazing friends on the internet, which is one major thing its done for me. But rally, it’s kept my relationship alive with the friends I do have. I’ve lived abroad a lot in the past 5 years, so Skype has basically been indispensable in keeping me in touch with my friends, family, and boyfriend!

  29. What do you do to relax and unwind after a tough day?

Hmmm. I used to take a bath when I was stressed. But now, I make a hot chocolate with marshmallows (of course!) and look through catalogs and circle all the stuff I like. For some reason, that relaxes me…

  30. I can keep in touch with my loved ones and friends, since I live so far away from my hometown. Also, I met my boyfriend on the internet. He is a great addition to my life!

  31. I relax after a hard day by having a glass of white white and taking a bubble bath, with candles and soft music.

  32. Internet keep me close to my family at the lowest cost, considering that the five of us (my parents and two siblings) leave in 5 countries on 3 continents (US, Canada, Germany, Belgium, Cameroon).

  33. The biggest benefit for me is the accessibility of information …medical, exercise, recipes and people to communicate with.

  34. How has your life most benefited from the Internet?

I’ve learned a lot of things on the internet. Especially things I really want to study in my life, food&nutrition, and health&fitness. The Internet is also a way I communicate with my friends who I cannot phone cause I don’t have long-distance calling ): to much money.

  35. The biggest benefit of the internet to me is that it has made it so easy to keep in contact with family and friends. I can upload picture of my kids and my whole family can see them and print them. They follow along on our personal blogs and keep in touch.

  36. I think that the best thing that the internet has done for me has made it so much easier to find things. For example- we needed new carpeting- I went straight to the internet, googled, and got competitive prices. Especially when moving to a new place, the internet has proved incredibly useful.

  37. some of the benefits are contests, medical info, recipes, shopping with stores not in my area, and keeping in touch with my family

  38. The greatest benefit of the internet is probably the ability to communicate with people quickly and often. I would have lost touch with so many people ages ago if I hadn’t been able to email / IM with them.

  39. After a long day I like to put on the fluffiest socks I can find and eat cheesecake or pie or brownies : )

  40. The interest has helped me most to keep in contact with people that I hardly ever see. Emails and facebook are great! I also love to read blogs. Very pretty earrings!
