Giveaway – Violet Dawn Pendant — 58 Comments

  1. OMGosh. You know that I am developing short term memorie loss! If I have to remember stuff like that, I have to know it before I go to bed!!

Since my mind races around its hard to say what my actual REAL first thought was, but I bet it was to tell my dog to get his nose out of my face. My german shepherd sleeps next to my bed and as soon as he hears my breathing change from sleep to awake mode, he MUST greet me goodmorning.

Then, I probably remembered that I took the day off.

  2. Hey Crissy, another great pendant. AND perfect purple.

I hate to disappoint you. No dirt on me today. I can’t remember EVER getting in trouble in school. I was (seriously) a model student. Almost straight A’s all through school. Rarely missed a day. My teachers loved me and I was usually the ” teacher’s pet”. I even remember going to Mrs. Brown’s home after school and hanging out. I loved her. When I was older, I babysat for another teacher’s kids. I always came in second in the spelling bees. Janet Campbell was smarter than me, but that’s ok because she is a teacher now. But I had more personality!

Now, you asked to know the first time I got in trouble. You didn’t ask what I remember doing that was wrong~ lol. When I got in high school starting in April I used to skip out on afternoon classes to hit the beach. As soon as it got warm, you could find me at Lake Michigan. But I never got in trouble. I was a good forger. Well, actually I didn’t have to forge. The school never got notes from my Mom. Even when she wrote them, I wrote my own so they never knew her writing.

This is bringing back lots of memories of stuff I did that I shouldn’t have and never got caught doing!! (Just for the record, I never cheated.)

    Happy Monday!!

  3. “What time does the concert end?” Hubby was blasting music from the family room at 6am.

Very pretty pendant. And in your fav color!!

  4. HOO-RAY! More Crystal questions! I missed out last time, I think….

My first thought on waking up today was “Oh no, the patch didn’t hold!”, which may sound strange. But see, our roof has been leaking, and my husband spent allllll this past weekend fixing it. So when the rain started, today, at 4 in the morning, and I heard cursing and buckets rattling (no, he didn’t wake me up. We’re Second Shift people, and were just going to bed) I knew the patch had failed, our ceiling was in for more mildew, and I was in for a very very grumpy sweetheart all day. Rats!

  5. The first time–of two times, ever– that I was in trouble at school was in 6th grade (no, I wasn’t a goody-goody. But there are ways to be disobedient that don’t get a kid busted. “She was reading in class” is not a compelling argument to a principal.) was for art’s sake. I had my first watercolor pencils, and noticed they marked on skin…so I tried it on my lips, and that was pretty neat, and drew some on my arms, and maaaaaybe got carried away and drew on some of my fellow classmates. But only if they asked.

I was kept after school, until my mother came to get me. The kicker? I was kept after school *for wearing makeup*. Not causing a ruckus or being a vandal or anything. My teacher actually told my mom that she was concerned to see a girl my age attempting to…ahem..well, we all know what sort of women wear *makeup*. Or in my case, green watercolor pencil. My dear sweet mother heard her out, told her she was inane, and took me home for ice cream. 🙂

  6. I guess back in the 50’s sucking your fingers in class was a crime. My index finger and middle one on my right hand were wrinkled and flat looking.

I remember the teacher calling me up to the front of the class. She poured some type orange ointment on them. I turned around and sat back down. Did I taste it? Yep. Bitter. And didn’t try again the rest of the day.

At home. You know exactly what happened. My mom went BALLASTIC!! My teacher never apologized but that was the one and only time she tried to break me of my habit.

I did that on my own. At the age of 12. When I realized there were boys in the world. 😀

  7. Hi Crystal! Beautiful, beautiful pendant! (as always!) I really love the beads, but you always use the most lovely metal parts too!

The first thing I thought of when I woke up today, was getting to the grocery store, and what I needed, like more canned pumpkin, so I can make more of your yummy pumpkin bread!

    Hugs, 😉

  8. I really was a goodie goodie. I never got in trouble… I have the most boring answer! 😉 Hugs, Paulette

  9. Well… that´s a good question. When did I get in throuble the first time at school… It was probably in the 5-th grade. Our PE teacher was the meanest thing ever. She was rude, self centered and unfair, she could not ever use her normal voice, her screams could be heard from my home (we lived next door to the school).
Our school had this rule, that each week one of the students would be responsable for the supplies, the chalk, sponge, cleanliness of the class room and also they had to make sure that students go out of the class room for recess.
When it was my turn to deal with all these responsibilities, IT HAPPENED! One of the boys took the sponge we used to whipe the black board with and soaked the teacher´s chair with water! Nobody saw him do it though…. so… when the teacher showed up and sat down…. you can imagine what happened. Her pants got all wet and she looked like she had a pee-pee accident. Of course everybody in my class, including me, were just rolling on the floor so hard we were laughing. Well….. unfortunately she didn´t think it was funny…
She imediately asked who the “responsible student” was for that week. And that was…. ME….
She wrote me up for that, she gave me a really bad grade and called my mom to school. My mom believed her, she never listened to me, she never even thought about the possibility that it wasn´t me!
Weeks later the boy who did it confessed to me. But he said he was sure, if his parents would find out what he did, they would kill him. So… I kept his secret. The damage was done anyways…. I felt so embarassed when she disciplined me in front of the entire class and when I got that bad grade, especially knowing that I didn´t do it. But most of all hurt me the fact that my own mother didn´t trust me, and didn´t believe me. In fact she didn´t even ask if I had to say anything about it.
Looking back now I think TOO BAD it wasn´t me! Haha!!!

Try to be better than your parents were. Show your children that they matter. You will get the best results.
    Blessings to all! Claudia

  10. 1. The first thing I thought of was to look at the time and then to get ready since I woke up late .

  11. 2. I don’t remember the 1st time but I did get in trouble with other kids and my punishment was to go to the principal’s office and say that i wouldn’t do it again . I got in trouble for being mean or saying a mean thing in elementary school .

  12. The first thing I thought when I woke up today was, “Oh no, I forgot to grade papers last night…” Then, I decided I was too sick to go to work and I called in a sub.

  13. This morning my first thought was about my dream last night. I was going swimming (with like half my clothes on) and the diving board was leaning into the water, so I couldn’t get a good jumping boost for a dive. Everyone thought I was the lamest diver ever- but it wasn’t my fault! It was the diving board!

  14. The first time I got in “trouble” was in first grade. It was before school started and it was chilly so I was wearing multiple layers of pants, gloves, boots, socks, etc. As I was removing each layer I said it out loud, “Now I take my hat off. Now I take my gloves off.” Well, the teacher must have been having a bad day because she blurted, “Heather! You don’t have to tell us everything you’re doing out loud!” I think I went to tears.

Of course that’s nothing to ditching 2 class periods and telling them a sob story about how stressed I am and receiving a day off later that week for it. 🙂

  15. First thing I thought was “what time is it? I HOPE I’m not late”. I had a deadline at work today and coming in late wouldn’ve gone well with my boss. Fortunately, I made my deadline. 🙂

  16. I don’t recall the very first time I was in trouble but I remember the time I got in big trouble… for counterfeiting my parents signature on my report. I was 9. I was used to always being best and that time, I had slipped to the fifth place. Did I mention I went to school in a third-world country where there were 80 to 100 kids in my class? I was ashamed, let me tell you. First, of being fifth, then of people finding out about my forgery. Fortunately, that’s also the time I learned that my parents’ love had nothing to do with my grades. They were ok with fifth place. A year later I even slipped to place 12 once but wasn’t afraid of showing them my report. After that I was always among the best, but then I knew it was the goal I had set to myself, not my parents…

  17. Hi! So your first question was: What was the first thing you thought of when you woke up today? I woke up late and the first thing I did was checked my cellphone which was beside me. I always checked first when I wake up because I always wait for my husband’s text. He’s working abroad and he always sends me a message when he’s already at home.

  18. 2nd question: When was the first time you were in trouble at school? What did you do? And what was your punishment?

Hmmm, I think it was in my freshman year when me and my classmates skipped class to watch a basketball game.. We was caught in the act! We were suspended for a 3 days and given library punishment! URGH!

  19. Hey Crissy, I’m first time here in your blog. I love to see the lovely perfect purple pendant.

The first time I got in trouble. I seldom shared this but will try to share here and hope it will not get “censored”… lol

I was in Standard Four, primary school and I’ve been challenged by a boy, asked me if I ever read any “dirty” stuff in the media. Without hesitation, I answered him “why not”… oh oh I really got into trouble and someone actually reported to the Form Teacher.

My mum was being called to school to explain on this statement by me. I felt super embarrassed and promised my mum that I will never say things that are not true. And I began to avoid those boys since then.

Happy Wednesday to you and your lovely child!

  20. The first thing I thought when I woke up today was to feed my darling cat buffy .Thanks for the lovely giveaway.Marian

  21. When I woke up today my first thought was that I was hungry! So I made myself a big breakfast 🙂

  22. The first time I got in trouble at school was in 1st grade when I was talking when the teacher was telling a story, and my punishment was that I missed out on my turn at painting at recess.

  23. About how much I disliked my husbands alarm this morning – we were sleeping so good. lol.

  24. Our Beagle puppy sleeps in our bedroom! The first thing I see is Daisy and I usually think that I have to get her outside!
    Thanks, Cindi

  25. Unfortunately, your daughter’s question is way too easy for me!
Kindgarten was trouble for me. I am much younger that my brother
and sister! Basically, I felt like an only child! I didn’t think I should have to share the toys in kindergarten and I talked way too much.
The “Sorry” Chair got to know me pretty well…..
    Thanks, Cindi

  26. The first thing I thought of was it was cold…65 in my room which I realize isn’t cold but in So Cal it is.

  27. I didn’t get into any trouble until high school and then only once for talking in class and I got detention. The rest of the trouble I didn’t get caught.

  28. Interesting giveaway! Well, the first thing I think I was thinking the moment I woke up is my exam. Sad but true. I can’t even get peace in my sleep 🙁

  29. Hi!!!!

1 “I want to sleep!!!” Well, I love sleep… and today I have to bring my daughter to the school (normally my hubby do it).

2 I remember one time (I don’t know if it was the first one or the ninth… ) I used throw kisses to my philosophy teacher… He was new (teaching) and young and we enjoy putting him nervously (is it correct in English???)

Hugs and kisses Crystal! Your work always lovely!!!!

Crystal says: Hi Janil, I wish I could write as well in Spanish as you do in English!! 🙂

  30. The first thing I thought when the alarm went off was “only a few more days till I get an extra hour”

  31. The first time I remember getting in trouble at school was in 5th grade when we had a sub. The whole class misbehaved, and I was usually too scared to act out, but since everyone else was I did too. We threw books on the floor and stuff like that. The whole class had to stay in at recess and write an apology note to the sub the next day.

  32. The first time I got in trouble, I was in the 3rd grade. I had been misbehaving all day, but when I actually got sent to the corner (lol – secluded behind an easel), it wasn’t really my fault that time. A classmate had pushed me down and I pushed her back, but the teacher really zeroed in on me. It was torturous for me because I’m standing in the corner and the local librarian came in to do storytime that day and I couldn’t participate. That punishment really hurt.

  33. First Question: I thought about getting up and moving everything from my little foyer to put my bowls of Halloween candy! No one yet…but I want to be ready!

Second Question: I got in trouble in the playground for helping push the merry go round, and someone fell off. We didn’t know it would go so fast, luckily no one got hurt. We had to miss recess the next day and sit and do work sheets. Back in the olden days when the playground equipment was different! lol
Thanks for the chance to win! I love the pendant…the color is my favorite!

  34. I LOVE purple/lavender. When I woke up this morning I was thinking about whether my modem was going to work. Well it didn’t so I had to go buy a new one.
    V G Marcel

  35. I ALWAYS chewed gum in all grades. And I never learned.
Of course I had to go to the front of the class and spit it out.
    I was addicted.

  36. 2nd question.
I was in first grade. I was talking and the teacher pulled me out of line by my hair. A teacher wouldn’t dare get away with that today.

  37. The first time I got in trouble in school was in the 4th grade. I was caught talking instead of listening. My punishment was to write “I will refrain from unnecessary talking” 500 times in cursive over the weekend.

  38. The first thought when I awoke was Thank Goodness It’s Sunday! Then I turned over and went back to sleep.
