Weekend for Flowers – Friday Favorites

Memorial Day Weekend – a time for remembering loved ones and countrymen, a time for family gatherings and picnics, and because it’s considered the opening weekend of summer – a time for planting flowers and gardens.

Here in New England, we do not begin serious gardening before Memorial Day as there’s still a possibility of frost up until then. In the next few days, we’ll spend some time working on our flower beds. πŸ™‚

In honor of the season, I’m including a sweet vintage seed packet and a quotation with a floral theme!

Friday Favorites – Bookmarks

hearts-border31This week’s “Friday Favorites” features my favorite way to mark my place in a book – and that’s with a little piece of art. πŸ™‚

No scraps of paper or turned down pages for me!

Sometimes I use a miniature print of a favorite painting from our art museum’s gift shop. Other times I might use a handmade gift tag that I’ve received on a present.

But some of my most treasured bookmarks were made by origami artist, Kayo.

Wouldn’t it be fun to see one of these lovely ladies as you curl up with that book you’re currently reading? You’ll find them available in many colors in Kayo’s etsy shop.
