Candy Corn

This year . . . the very humid days at the end of August had me dreaming of Fall, so I started to work on some autumn-inspired jewelry.

Here’s a pair of earrings that I’m calling “Candy Corn”. ;-)

I think they have sort of a subtle Autumn/Halloween flavor. Wouldn’t they be pretty with a jacket done in earth tones?

The pumpkin-colored teardrops are vintage lucite, and the very unique “candy corn” beads are Czech glass (currently available in my shop).

pumkinx3As a native New Englander, I fell in love with Autumn at a very early age. They say the foliage in this area is more colorful than in other parts of the country. I don’t know if that’s true . . . but it is breath-takingly beautiful here during the Fall.

Of course, there are so many things to love about this time of year, like apples and cider and pumpkins and mums. :-D It’s sweater weather, and time to make soup!

On crisp Autumn days, the sky’s more blue; the air more refreshing! It’s a magical time – not too hot . . . not too cold . . . when Mother Nature allows us a last little respite before the icy winds blow.

Happy Fall to us all!

  1. Well, Sis, I am glad you like this time of year. I am dreading the change into fall and mourning the loss of the summer that never came to northern Indiana. But I love those earrings!!!

  2. Those earrings would look great on my ears!! So pretty.

You have the most unique ear wires I have ever seen. Do you make any of them?

  3. Thanks, Donna!

I love to search far and wide for unusual findings. I haven’t made my own so far, but I’d like to! In fact, I recently bought a book on wirework and also a little chasing hammer. Now if I could just order the “time” to learn how to do it!

You know how it is – so many ideas – so little time!!! ;-)

  4. Those are the cutest earrings Crystal! They do remind me of yummy candy corn! What unusual, beautiful beads! I also love the card behind them!

I say…BRING ON AUTUMN!!!!…BRING ON THE BEAUTIFUL COLORED LEAVES, AND THE SMELL OF THE NIGHT AIR WHEN THE LEAVES ARE ALL DOWN ALL OVER THE LAWN, AND THE SOUND OF THE LEAVES BLOWING ACROSS THE STREET, AND THE PINK FALL SUNSETS, AND THE BIG LOW HARVEST MOON, AND THE FIRST TIME YOU CAN SEE YOUR BREATH, AND THE SMELL OF A FIREPLACE, AND CARAMEL AND CANDY APPLES, AND SCARECROWS, AND HALLOWEEN AND THANKSGIVING AND THOSE FIRST MAGICAL SNOWFLAKES!!! I could go on and on but I know you know all the rest, being that we both love the fall! Oh… happy fall Crystal! You’ll see how my mood changes in the spring… Hugs, Paulette

  5. So funny… I was just looking at this bead and said “those look like candy corn”, clicked on jewelery, and that’s what you called them. Too cute! <3
