  1. You make this hard because I love all of them best depending on the situation. But my first reaction when I read the question was “Sunlight”
I suffer from SAD and this has been a bad winter with few sunny days. Finally we have sun and 80 degrees which is why I took Wednesday off work and worked in the yard weeding in the Glorious Sun.

I don’t see your answer, and I’m trying to guess what your pick is. I’m going to guess candlelight. Hey, that’s a different spin on this post…What is Crissy’s Favorite Light…Come on .. Guess
    xx, Carol

  2. I, too, love all of them. Each brings memories of different past experiences.
If I had to say – I guess I’d pick Firelight.

  3. A hard choice because its not just the light its the whole package. I’d say firelight because its not just for outside as we have a large woodburning fireplace. I love the smell and the crackles it makes. In the middle of depressing winter its a life saver .

  4. Oh wow…this is hard to choose just one…but I DEFINITELY would have to go with holiday lights – I love seeing the night streets lit up by Christmas decorations – especially when they decorate the trees. I love the simple white lights on the scraggly tree branches – it really looks magical. I love seeing the holiday reindeer lit up in the neighborhood yards -so much so that I have a reindeer in my living room at this very moment and sometimes I will plug him in and watch his little lit-up head/neck move up and down.

    Have a good weekend Crystal!

  5. How about Flashlight? LOL!! I used to love shining it on the wall to entertain my late dog. We would go up and down the stairs in the dark with just the light from the flashlight.

Of those you mentioned, I guess Holiday Lights. So festive and they are out on display for about six weeks. Pretty.

  6. Wow, some great comments, here! πŸ™‚

Carol, I should have added your suggestion as a P.S. to my post because I think everyone missed your suggestion to guess what I would choose! It is such a good idea though that I will try to work it into a future post – “Guess Crystal’s Choice”.

Also, I actually DID consider adding “sunlight” as a choice here!
I guess I eventually decided that the rest of them were “lights” that can shine in total darkness – so I didn’t add the sunlight. I’m glad you did because I agree that a gray day is absolutely the pits.

Clenna! Nice to see you! Isn’t it funny how our memories of good times seem to attach us to what was going on around us?

Michelle, I know what you mean about it being “not just the light its the whole package”! I didn’t have an easy time deciding either! (See the next comment!)

Yona, I just broke into a big smile picturing your little reindeer entertaining you all year round! How fun πŸ™‚

Donna, Talk about cute! You and your dog playing a game with the flashlight! Your description made me teary. I’ll bet you miss him. xo

  7. Well, Kids,
I know it was easy for me to give the “light” choices and then expect you to decide – when all have their own beauty.

I’m tickled that some of you added more choices, too!

I know Kelly will be checking in soon so I’ll wait just a little longer to say which one I would choose!

  8. Hi Sweetie! I have a few favorites, but they’re all connected to the holidays. Of course the twinkle of holidays lights. I love, love, love them, but the fireplace goes along with that special time of year too, and when the moonlight shines on the snow, it’s just magical…all those glittery sparkles are so beautiful!

I’d really love to hear your favorites too!

    xoxo

  9. I’ll add my two cents now πŸ˜‰

It’s really tough because I do love them all… but if I have to choose just one it would be holiday lights or more specifically – lights on our Christmas tree. Some years it’s been a huge tree, some years it was a small tree, and some years it was a tall-yet-slim tree! The light I’m referring to is simply the light of the tree alone – with no other lights on in the house.

Each year, after our tree has been decorated, we love to spend a quiet hour just dreaming by the light of the tree. We make it a nightly ritual for as many nights as possible during the Christmas season. We usually chat about the day, sometimes have a drink together, but mostly just settle back and marvel at how lovely and relaxing it is to be enveloped in the soft glow of the lights. Those quiet moments are my favorite part of Christmas. πŸ™‚

Paulette, Your descriptions had me nodding enthusiastically here! πŸ™‚

  10. I’m here, and I would have to choose firelight. I love it in the winter and in the summer campfires are wonderful. I use candles in the fireplace with foil under them in the summer to add warmth to a room.

  11. Yay, Kelly!
I knew you’d arrive here as soon as you could.
I’ll bet you are in the middle of school stuff. πŸ˜€

  12. All A’s this semester and I have two classes starting soon. I received all my grades today. We will be doing inventory in the bookstore and I will be taking notes for students with disabilities in a few weeks also.
The dogs and I went to the fundraiser for the lions club. Artie won the best tail wagger contest. Yappie Hour is this Thursday. I’ve also cleaned the house from top to bottom.

Have a wonderful Memorial Day, everyone.

  13. Congrats, Kelly
    So proud of you!
You sure have lots going on and it sounds like a great mixture of work, fun, and charitable kindness! πŸ˜€
