Little Things

Are you charmed by little things? I am.

For example, if I’m in a gift shop – I’m much more likely to be attracted to a tiny doll than to a large one.

When I am making things, it’s the same story.

A couple of months ago, I made a little purse and a tiny rose to adorn it . . .

and then I couldn’t stop!

I made some more purses.

And then some more roses.

I thought about which rose for which purse . . .

Then I wondered if I should ditch the rose and try beads instead for embellishment.

I have a dozen ideas for these. They’ve been quite a welcome distraction during the incredibly sultry weather we’ve had here lately!

What do you like to do when it’s just too hot to move?

Hugs,

  1. I’m a HUGE tiny fan. Little tiny things to put in a Fairy Garden, tiny display on a shelf or window sill always catch my attention.

What the heck are you going to do with those purses!! I’ll patiently await that post!

Its never too hot for me to move except at work. I hate to be sweaty and dressed for work. I’ve been working outside in this heat, but only a little because I don’t want Terry to be out there. They said that TIA he had a few years ago could have be caused by the heat so I don’t let him take chances. There has been plenty to do inside anyway.

    Stay cool!
    xx, Carol

  2. I have been studying and playing with the dogs. We only walk late at night or we go to inside dog events. I have finished my geography class and truly enjoyed it. It was an easy “A” class. Human Growth and Development is requiring more study time. I did enter and win movie tickets in the Heinz contest. I hope to go see a movie with hubs this weekend.
There is an ice cream social for dogs at the dog bakery on Saturday. I know the dogs will like that event and the money goes to a local rescue group. Artie went to the pool party at the vets and had a great time in the pool. Kouga is not into water so he stayed home, it was 107 and it would have been too hot for him.

I think it is because I’m on

  3. Sorry, I didn’t get to finish. Artie hit the enter button.
I like the little purses too, I was wondering if you are going to incorporate them into a larger project.

  4. Hi Ladies!
    Carol,
Glad you and Terry are not taking any chances in the heat. I know you love summer so might as well enjoy every second of it. I have a feeling once the fall arrives, you will both be working on that empty nest! ๐Ÿ˜€ xo

    LOL, Kelly!
Artie either wants his own computer or he decided you were done for the time being!
You are so lucky when it comes to winning contests. Have fun at the movies.

Re: The little purses…. I will show more pictures after I finish some examples of what I have in mind. ๐Ÿ™‚

  5. I was wondering that too!! Thanks, ladies, for asking Crystal. OK, I will just have to be patient to see. They are adorable. Either embellishment works. But I really like the crocheted flower.

As to the heat… oh man… what IS going on!! The country is setting records. Hottest EVER since “they” started keeping records back in 1890 (I think). I hate Michigan’s snow and extremely long winters but I wish I had some snow now to cool things off.

I am setting my own record. Since it is too hot to go out, I am not out and about spending money. Only have 13 entries in my Budget Journal for July. For me, that is unheard of!! I usually have 24-25 around this time of the month. Yay, for me.

    Hi Carol. Hi Kelly.

  6. Hi Crystal!

Your tiny purses just couldn’t get any more adorable! I love all of them…and those wee roses are so, so cute! I can’t wait to hear what you’ve got planned. They would make precious gift card holders hanging from a girlie little tree. ๐Ÿ˜‰

I can’t take this heat anymore, Crystal. I need some cool, breezy autumn days!

    xoxo Paulette

  7. omg Crystal, I’m in love with your lil purses!! You do such beautiful work.
It’s been super hot up here in the northwest too. I love the sunshine, but when it’s SO hot out, I stay inside with the air conditioner and the fans and play with my beads. If it’s nice out and not super hot, I like to sit under my maple tree and let nature inspire me. I’ll write in my journal…draw jewelry designs or just kick back and relax.
Summer doesn’t last very long here and I usually enjoy it, but I’m tellin ya….I’m ready for Fall to get here! ๐Ÿ™‚
