Coffee’s On

Hi Kids,
Come on in . . . You’re just in time for tea (or coffee if you prefer)!

If you’ve been with me for a while, you probably remember the “weekly question”! For many months, we all checked in here on Mondays and shared a laugh, our latest news, and sometimes – even a bit of advice. It was our virtual coffee klatsch. πŸ˜‰

I’ve been missing those times, so today I’m here with a question!

But just a little background, first . . .

I’ve always been a fan of the clever pun.
Businesses often choose something cute and β€œpunny” as a name. I can think of a couple of hair salons around here that prove my point:

Curl Up and Dye

The Hairafter

Usually the puns are intentional but when they are not intentional – they can be even more amusing!

The following businesses used the real names of the proprietors – I’m serious!

Bland’s Restaurant

Flowers Funeral Home

Dr. Wolfe, Veterinarian

Funny, yes?

So, my question is:

Can you think of a business in your area that has a clever name?

(And if you can’t… well, have another cup and tell us about your weekend!) πŸ™‚

Hugs,

  1. Hi Crissie
Glad you’re back on Monday mornings!
At the moment, the only thing I can think of is a salon “Hairs to You”. Now I’ll probably see a LOT of them.

My weekend was quiet. Terry and I have been pretty ache-y with this crappy weather. We didn’t even go out to eat which is unusual on the weekend. We did have to go away with a storm in the air. Terry actually let Junior come with us because he is so scared of storms now. When he had other dogs in the house, he never had a problem.

Staying home all weekend sounds boring, but really it was a blessing.

How bout you, what did you do?
    xx, Carol

  2. Hey Carol,
I so agree that a quiet weekend can really be a blessing. It’s a chance to recharge – which is exactly what we need if things have been too hectic. Glad that you and Terry allow yourselves the luxury of not doing much, sometimes.

But speaking of blessings – you asked about my weekend….
We felt incredibly blessed to spend Sunday afternoon with our grand-nephew, who was celebrating his first birthday! This little guy has had a rough time in his young life. Just hours after he was born, he needed major heart surgery and then another operation a few months later.
It was difficult and frightening for all the family but today, he is doing so very well!
He’s an amazing little boy – full of energy and fun and so bright! As family and friends sang Happy Birthday to him, we couldn’t help but feel very fortunate for the miracle that was given to us this year. πŸ˜€

  3. hmm….the only one that comes to mind right now is “Dewey Cheatum and Howe.” It’s an attorney firm, go figure! LOL

Wow Crystal, your grand nephew sounds like a little fighter and a real blessing from God. Happy 1st birthday to him! πŸ™‚

  4. In Warren PA there’s a laundromat named SUDS YOUR DUDS
In Grafton MA there’s a chicken and pizza place called Pies and Thighs

  5. Attorney firm? Giggling, here, Brenda! πŸ™‚
Thank you for the good wishes!

(Your beads are on the way!) πŸ˜‰

  6. I have my dog groomed at Dunk n Dogs.
My kids used to go to a dentist – Dr. Human
There’s another dentist in town, Dr. Weener, I’m glad he’s not a Urologist or a Proctologist!

  7. Oh my stars, Miss Clenna! You are (as the grownups used to say): “a hot sketch”! πŸ˜‰

“Dunk n Dogs” is a riot – especially to those of us who are familiar with Dunkin’ Donuts!
Does anyone know if Dunkin’ Donuts is all across the U.S.? Is it on the west coast, or in the midwest? Their coffee is really good! πŸ™‚

  8. This coming weekend, I will be running errands and hopefully getting some fresh air. Right now I am stuck in the house with spring-like flu. Stuffy nose (read stopped up), sore and scratchy throat, hard to talk, drinking so much hot tea that I may float away.

    toothache
    headache
    chest hurts
    hands hurt

  9. I have not visited in a while—-I have missed you, Crystal and all your “regulars”!

Life with an 18 month old is BUSY. I am constantly keeping him out of harm’s way & sometimes I am unsuccessful. He has no fear of anything!!

The only cute store name that is coming to mind is a bakery called Oh My Ganache.

Take care everyone—will try to check in more often—at naptime!!!

  10. Hi Allison! πŸ™‚
You have been missed!!! But, I do know how busy life can be with an 18 month old! (Wow, already 18 months!!??!!)

“Oh My Ganache” is so clever!

Have you had a chance yet, this spring, to visit the horses or ride? Hope so! πŸ™‚
